1st off I have a N5 running on Sprint (No LTE) Not Rooted
The problem I'm having is once in awhile Pandora will start having issues that seem like the song is skipping. I mean it will stop playing and when it comes back on its at a different part if the song. It does this over and over. Even if I skip a song or change the Station
I don't think it's my Network because the ads play fine and other Music apps play fine.
Anyone else experience this issue?
Sent from my Nexus 5
Most likely the network or Pandora. I was having issues a couple days ago with it playing a song and then . skipping to another track right afterwards. It hasn't done it since.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
It is not Pandora. It is your sprint data connection. Sorry to say but Sprint data sucks. I am on AT&T and pandora works fine for me. This is both on normal and high quality settings. I forgot to enable high quality the first few session and noticed a difference in the sound so enabled it afterward.
Thanks for the input, but just because you are on another network doesn't mean that it is Sprints Network. As I stated all other apps that use 3G are working correctly

I had the same problem with slacker and Iheartradio but not pandora. If I use wifi or force HSPA they are still buggy. Im waiting for an update of the apps to see if that fixes it. I prefer slacker over pandora, but I guess I will have to use what works. It worked just fine on my nexus 4.
ATT mvno (net10) with LTE with a 20mbps down and 11mbps up
Just an update to the situation with my Pandora Issues, it isn't 100% not working it is only a few times that it has stopped working. I was reading an article over on Reddit and someone posted a list of apps that are compatible with Androids new ART run time. I have switched my phone over to ART and the list said that Pandora was not compatible with this run time. I don't know how true this is, but hopefully it gets worked out.
It's actually probably because of your 3G speed on Sprint. I say this having been a long time Sprint user. The 3G connection might WORK, but it needs to be a sufficient speed in order to keep up with the music. Many places, Sprint's 3G is overloaded, and it's difficult to maintain a Pandora stream for any length of time.
I really don't think its that I've never had this problem on my EVO LTE also when I'm having issues with Pandora I can launch Google Music, Soundcloud, or even YouTube and they all stream perfectly.
Sent from my Nexus 5
Also this problem only occurs occasionally. So if it was a network problem it would happen more often
Sent from my Nexus 5
No actually it would happen occassionally, and being able to stream other services which buffers differently (and you likely use less) doesn't mean it's not your 3G.

Since Captivate has GPS I was wondering if an app or hack for Xm Radio might exist or work with the phones??? Has anyone tried it???
You need to root and allow sideloading or push .apk using adb.
I rooted and changed settings to allow sideload. Then used email from Sirius to get application.

Once you get the app from Xm Radio do you have to register your phone as a XM device and pay or will you be able to get the programming free?
You need to add premium online service. If you have an account, it's like $2.40/month.

Ok, thanks.
I wonder just how well it works considering the GPS issues we seem to have for now.
works great for me, I don't know why they don't put the app in the market though. Rooted my phone the first day I had it specifically for this reason. Dosen't seem to slow down the phone at all while you're listening, either. The GPS issus don't have anything to do with the operation of the app - it's basically just a client for XM/Sirius online so it uses your data connection, no satellites involved. You will need the $3/month Premium Online Listening package to listen from your phone, like someone mentioned.
Something I noticed recently is that although it will switch between 3g and WiFi data automatically, if I'm going in and out of WiFi a lot (like when I mow the lawn) it will begin to drop out - just turn the WiFi off and you're good to go. Keep an eye on your data usage if you don't have an unlimited plan, though.
I do have a small gripe - when I listen to XM online on my computer, it's only about 5 seconds behind my home (satellite) unit. On the phone, it's literally about a minute, even on WiFi. The Blackberry app has the same issue. Kind of annoying, but it's not the end of the world.
Here's the link to the download page:
I can't post outside links. Google "XM android" and it should be the first search result.
Thanks. I have Xm Radio in my car. I thought it might be nice on the phone too.
I'm not sure about the $36 a year since there is so much free listening out there that's simular. I find myself only listening to 2 channels when I'm in the car.....lol.

I don't have the app but I can say 99.9% that it doesn't use GPS for anything. It uses 3G data to stream the stations to you.
Hmm... allow me to help here:
The GPS receiver in the phone has NOTHING to do with receiving XM Radio. Yes, the XM Radio you have in your car does receive satellite signals, however it is unrelated to the receiver in your phone. Your phone uses the Cell Network to stream XM Radio, if such an app exists, and it would certainly cost money.
Clearer?
When we get flash support with Froyo, we should be able to stream through their website.

While I can confirm you can login to the player this way, I was unable to get the stream. Probably doesn't like the browser, dunno.
Introduction:
So there has been a lot of bugs & glitches coming out as we get to use the phone more and more and they just seemed to be all over the forum and the forum is looking very unorganized.
Request: Can any of our G2x forum Mod's made this a sticky?
Here is the list of bugs and glitches that i have compiled from the whole forum:
**Added 04/23/2011**
Media Scanner bug
After leaving a 4G area phone will say that is connected to 4G but in reality there is no data and will not change to 3G/2G
When pressing home button or just navigating the home screens, screen flashes/flickers (Happened to me too)
Kinetic scrolling could be improved and the screen shakes when holding a position with your finger:

No System UI sounds nor a System Volume setting
Bleeding LCD mostly 2 upper corners
Overheating when playing games, tethering, HDMI mirroing.
WiFi not connecting with some routers. Seems to happen with Dual band routers
WiFi Profiles keeps getting disabled
Phone connected to UMTS but displaying 4G notification icon
4G turning on when WiFi is supposely "On"
4G disconnects too much and randomly switching between Edge/3G/4G in same area with 4G
4G is not as fast as other phones with same hardware http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1043716
Battery draining fast possibly due to this connection glitches
Freezes and Reboots
Connecting Headphones, or any Input will make Mic mute. When connected to car input, caller can the other person but person called can't hear caller.
Music turns off when opening camera
Phone screen brightness gets really dark when opening camera and auto-brightness is enabled
GPS works but sometimes slow to lock (Work around: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009529&highlight=gps Thanks Mitta from LG 2X forums for getting a working fix and to the many other work around offered)
Cannot adjust brightness or Screen timeout settings anywhere only with market apps
Email signature keeps changing to default even after modifying it or removing it.
Bluetooth stops working after using WiFi or Wireless tethering
Audio would randomly stop working after having it plugged in to a TV via HDMI cable.
Lock screen sound won't work
SD card not been able to be mount
I know there is a Poll with an "Issue Summary" but it is lacking a list of bugs and glitches in the Original Post.
Anyways, So this thread is really to compile a list of the known bugs and glitches to make it easier for the Devs to determine what they should be looking at to fix and for everyone to look for known issues and make the G2x Forums neater.
I strongly believe that this forums are visited by manufacturers and by phone companies, almost 99% sure about this. So let's make the issues known to get them working on hardware optimizations and software.
Here is the link to the Issue Summary Poll: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043500&page=10
I read all 10 pages and could say that the most common issues posted in that thread are reboots and freezes.
I will be updating this post as bugs and glitches comes out.
Please post your glitches if they are not mention in this thread. so that I can add those
Thanks for posting. Good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a better G2x!
I have had the phone since release day on the 20th and have had none of these problems *knocks on wood* although I did come across something really weird. I had the phone in my pocket and I don't know if I accidentally turned it on or whatever but I took it out of my pocket at one point and it was kind of hot on the back. When I hit the power button I got nothing so I had to battery pull and then power it on and that worked. When it booted the battery was under 5% (battery was over 50% when I initially put it in my pocket which was only about an hour or so when I noticed it was off and felt hot). So I plugged it in charged it back to 100% and have been fine since that. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Nice work on getting this thread started. Is there any way you can also put links to the threads that these issues are talked about? I would be great to be able to read the thread easily if you have that issue with your phone. May help the devs find things easier too!
I am having an issue with my screen. if I am on a web page that is not designed for mobile phones and I push my finger on the screen and don't move it all, the screen will shake endlessly until I remove my finger. It will also do it if I hold when flipping between home screens. Does anyone else have this issue?
Please forgive my ignorance if these aren’t really bugs or are simply repeats of the above, but I discovered two new items with both my wife and my G2x’s that I’d like some feedback on.
I had zero data in WI tonight where T-mobile shows as having data coverage. The phone display shows that I am connected to AT&T for voice with a GPRS signal. Additionally, neither navigation or Google maps give me my location when both of these features had worked when I had data.
I’d be interested in learning if these items are actually bugs of if they are simply related to the available networks and G2x hardware. If bugs, does it sound like they could be fixed through a software update?
Thanks in advance.
I have 2 more bugs to add. Both of them being pretty damn major.
1. Once you leave a 4G tower it will not downgrade to 3G or Edge for data but voice will still work. The 4G icon is still there but you will have no data connection. In order to get your data working again you have to manually disable then re-enable it through network settings.
2. After removing the device from my pocket, it is in car mode. (Had to freeze the app so it stopped)
One other minor bug people are experiencing is upon awaking the device it will flash your home screen before your lock screen.
I can't see myself keeping this device after the sensation comes out. In my opinion, the G2x is possibly the buggiest device I have ever had and was not ready for launch. I will keep exchanging my G2x until I get one that works 100%.
By the way, I had to freeze "My Account" app and "Wifi Calling" because they were accessing data constantly.

Thanks for posting Xeyro, few questions for you,
Did you had a T-Mobile phone before and did you used in this area?
Was it 4G? If yes, where you able to connect fine to the network?
If your answers are yes then your G2x should be connecting just fine as well if not then there is a glitch/bug with the phone. Try rebooting to see if that helps.

Figured it out; user error. Apparently there's a check-box in the wireless and network settings to allow data roaming. Apparently this box is unchecked by default, and checking the box has restored data connection to the phone.
Thanks for the response Moshe.
Looks like we were posting at about the same time, but I figured out my error. The phones are set by default to not allow data roaming, and you have to manually make the change in the settings. Everything seems to be working as expected at this point.

If I understood your problem correctly, that is no fix at all. Data roaming is turned off by default because data roaming charges are massive. The reason it started 'working' is because you allowed the phone to roam data over the AT&T network instead of connecting to tmobile towers. Watch out because your next bill is going to be a whopper.

Thanks for the heads up dasbin. I decided to give T-Mobile a call to make sure I wasn't being charged an arm and a leg and this is what I learned.
The T-mobile coverage in this area is actually provided through 3rd party networks, so while the maps show data coverage, it may not be T-mobile directly providing the data. Therefore, the option to roam data needs to be turned on. T-mobile only charges for international data roaming, so there are no extra fees as this is how the network is designed to work.
I think then the "bug" isn't as much of a bug as an understanding that the phone is not configured by default to allow non T-mobile data networks. I wonder how often this has caused some of the dropping of data that others have experienced?
I only have the bleeding issue and reboot issues. If I exchange, it could be a lot worse.. decisions decisions..
You should include the Media Scanner bug.
If I put any substantial amount of media (more than 3mp3s) on my sd card, media scanner glitches and never finishes scanning, making camera, music, video, gallery, etc unusable.
I've seen at least one other poster with this issue.

Yea, same here, and when I have some free time I want to look at the kernal source, I'm thinking the frezzing/rebooting is caused by it, its acting the same as my mt4g did using custom kernals until those were fixed, so I think once we can get some custom kernals out we'll be good to go on that issue.

T-Mobile only charges for international roaming.
Bug is straightforward --
Over on the Galaxy S6 non-edge (Verizon branded), over Verizon 4G, Google Play Music either will not load songs at all, or will load them after several minutes of loading. 1080p videos on YouTube load in seconds, so it's not directly related to my 4G speeds.
Works fine over Wifi and with other devices.
I've tried the following with no results:
Uninstall Google Music App Updates (with phone restart)
Reinstall Google Music (with phone restart)
Reset Phone Settings (with phone restart)
Restore Factory Settings (with phone restart)
Clearing Google Play Music cache and data
Sometimes a song or two will come up that decide to load. If I skip on to the next track, the next one will just hang for two to three minutes before playing.
Any ideas?
My Google music has been working perfect over 4g when I'm at the gym. That's weird bro

My next step is to replace the phone with Verizon. If that doesn't fix it then.... well, hopefully that fixes it!
I'm having the same exact problem with my phone too I thought it was just me
Sandman, which market are you in? I'm in the Atlanta area, been having this issue all parts of town so I don't think it's a certain tower.
I'm in Maryland and both the DC/Baltimore areas have been giving me problems
I'm having the same issue! I'm in the Atlanta area as well (Clayton County for work. Dekalb County in the evening). All other streaming music apps work fine except for Google Play Music. YouTube loads a little slower than I would like too. Even on WiFi it still loads up pretty slow.
Same here
I am in Atlanta also and have been having issues.
What makes me feel A LITTLE better is that i checked my wife's S5 and it is having the same issues as my new S6.
Sounds like a Google Play problem and not an S6 one.
google play music
I am having the same problem...also on my new s6...as well as my wifes s5.....we are in the warner robins area south of Macon....Plays fine over wifi for both phones.... it has to be a bug within the app itself... I hope there is a fix soon...it's annoying!
Got mine working [fixed]
Okay...I was able to fix this.
I went into Manage App section and uninstalled update for Google Music and then I cleared cache in the same screen. Also, make sure you go to the play store settings and select the option to NOT update apps automatically. After having no luck with Google support for about an hour, I was able to do this and my music has been working fine for about an hour while steaming.
Edit:
It appears as though the cache has to be cleared (using the same process above) every time you connect to a wifi and then go back to network. I ran into the issue again after connecting to wifi, but it is back to normal after clearing the cache. It will take about 15 seconds for the first song to start, but it will go back to normal after that.
It hasome been working fine for me since I have gotten home today. Music loaded quick on 4G and I was able to play songs from different albums without waiting for it to buffer.
google music bug
I spoke with a google employee today who told me that engineers were aware of the problem and are currently working on a fix...in the meantime she told me to uncheck "automatically cache" under settings ....I haven't had a problem with it playing over 4g anymore today...will play Instantly....hope this helps those who are still having issues
No idea if you can help me as it seems to be a US site here and I am in the UK, but Im getting no where with the official tech support and it is starting to get stupid.
NFL Game pass app, if you do not know allows you to watch American Football games on your mobile device, however the issue I am having is a strange one.
The app and its videos work 100% fine, as long as I am connected via a Wifi Network, however if I am using the cellular network, be it 3G or 4G, the only videos that will load are ones called 'coaches film' all other videos I get an error stating 'video not currently available, please try again later' turn the wifi back on, and it loads fine again.
What is the point of a MOBILE app if you can't be mobile and need to be stuck in a wifi network area, I do not understand how one type of video always works but none of the others do..
All I get from Tech Support is the ususal, turn phone on and off, delete and reinstall the app, none of which works, then they want me to test in different areas, which I had already done, but insist I do it again, but no luck it makes no difference..
This was with the old Sony Z3, so upgrade time, I decide to go with the Z5, better the devil you know and all that, but I have a 14 day cool off period where I can change my mind, so I thoguht I would use this to test this app and see if it was specific to the Z3... but no, exact same issue, now I am tempted to swap for the Iphone 6s, but Im wondering, does this sound more like an app issue, rather than an issue with the phone itself?
Hello All ... Had my 4G/LTE version since xmas. I wanted it to primarily accompany me on runs whilst leaving my phone at home and listening to live radio on-the-go.
Some issues to start with getting a stand-alone radio player...but I solved that by sideloading an apk of a simple player designed for a phone.
I now Bluetooth connect my headphones to the watch; switch my phone OFF (to be sure I'm fully independent of the phone)...Strava on...and off I trot...
THE QUESTION....after weeks of doing this my data plan on the SIM in my watch shows ZERO usage. This cannot be...right?....watch on; phone OFF & at home; me miles away on a run and listening to live news radio...and yet no data has been used by the watch SIM card.
Has anyone an understanding of how this can be??
I realise that this is a very first-world-problem and that I should just be happy...which I am. But I do hate not understanding things...and this has got me bamboozled!
((...if anyone is wondering how long the battery lasts with all this going on...well the answer is NOT LONG...about an hour and it's toast (literally as hot as toast as well )))
