Hello XDA,
I missed the small window of opportunity to purchase the nexus 5 from the play store (16 gb), and now it is almost a month out of stock. I am looking to buy the Nexus 5, but can't find a well-priced retailer. BestBuy andRadioshack (along with my carrier) tack on an extra $100 , which I really don't want to pay. Has anyone successfully purchased the nexus 5 from somewhere other than the Play store for less than $450? If so, is it still available from that location?

I personally would try craigslist. That's where I bought mine. The guy sold it for $400 which is like $9 more than it would have been with tax and shipping for google play

I'm going to try to find one on craigslist, but ebay is way overpriced, like 150-200 over play price. I might have luck on craigslist!

Okay, so dumb question regarding preorders (only phone I ever preordered was an iPhone for the wife)
is it possible to do a store pickup for these preorders? I'd love to save an extra $50, but all my parcel carriers require a signature, and given the fact that we actually work for a living, no one is ever home to sign.

Yes, they typically offer the option to have it shipped to you or to pick up in the store.

I just came from my local radio shack and its confirmed. 149 plus a bunch of music downloads.
Cool thing is that I'm trading in my SGSII and they are giving me 300 store credit for it! I just need to wait until Sunday to pre order it.

The $300 special is.supposed to end 4/28. Are they extending the time..or keeping your phone for a week?

I'll just pay the 159 and use the store credit for accessories and such when it comes out. hopefully RadioShack carries all the HTC accessories when they are released.
We can pre order from radioshack online right? And can I ask them to ship it to my house?

It may just be at stores... As long as it comes to my home it doesn't matter to me.
So other than the issues with outright returns, do you give anything else up buying from a non-corporate store? I've only ever bought from the ATT store so don't want to get surprised by something if I buy one of these from Radio Shack.

I just assumed that most people would check Google before going straight to Ebay and paying (in some cases) over $100 more. About to order one from Google Play right now..

When the Nexus 5's were first being sold, when it was sold out on the play store, people put them up on Ebay with a ridiculous mark-up.

This phone sells $800+ outside usa like in brazil or other places that cannot buy from playstore. No price is ridiculous as long as there is somebody willing to pay what you ask.

Hi, new to the forums and want to ask a question as maybe there are people here who will be able to help me.

I asked the seller whether it comes with warranty and he said no as its being imported from outside the UK, however he said its a Genuine LG Nexus 5 even though its from hong kong (now you see my concern)
£290, is it worth risking it for a possible fake? (if there are fakes out there that is)

Pay the extra 50. It's worth it for the peace of mind and warranty. If it is a fake or it has a problem with it, it's going to be a nightmare and it's going to cost you much more to get it fixed.

Hi guys! I did not know where to ask this question, so I turned on here may be some of you have an experience. I am planning to buy a Nexus 5 to replace my Nexus 4. Tis should be a pretty cheap phone now since 2 years has passed from its release. I live in Canada and I was planning to buy one from ebay. They ship from Hong Kong and looks like it is new. For example this one:

Now my question is am I going to be charged with extra fees (like duty and taxes)? Anybody has any experience buying new phones from ebay shipped from china?

that ebay posting is over priced. you can get a 32 gb for cheaper than that now. my advice is keep looking on ebay, slickdeals, adnroid central, swappa for a good deal.
and you'll find one in no time.

It depends on shipper's declared value as to whether you are charged duties and taxes.
No mention of warranty on the listing.
Thanks. I contacted the seller. They said they offer 3 months exchange warranty and 1 year of repair.

I just bought a red 32gb from expansys. Will be delivered tomorrow. I'll post back about if it's in a factory box or anything else. I hope they're not trying to pass off refurbs as new.
I hope so. With the Canadian currency though, I think it is expensive for me. And i am not sure if they ship to canada. And if they do they would probably charge for taxes and other fees too!

That's a lille high money wise maybe it will fetch it. I only paid 129 for my phone frome early upgrade seller on eBay maybe prebaked in mods weren't the price just my input though

Ebay is very risky. they do not verify serial numebrs or ESN for blacklisted.
an no..its actually priced below recently sold average. There are several others selling theirs for more and none of them are 7.0.

Myslef and other i know have been burned by an ebay sale 1 too many times......no thanks. Swappa far more reliable and safer. Far better support in case something does go wrong as well. (like if the phone is not activatable or becomes not activatable long after the sale...seller has to refund cost...etc..)
