Hey guyz..here is a guide to extract max juice from quadrant.
1)Enable Stagefright (replace build.prop with mine)
2)install a task manager
3)Download terminal emulator from market(or use adb)
4)type this :
su
mount -t tmpfs tmpfs /data/data/com.aurorasoftworks.quadrant.ui.advanced
5)it gives better scores than oclf and all changes are lost on reboot!
6)if anyone has installed lagfix,plz see this and try if u get score higher than 3427.
7)also try chainfire to increase 3d
8)run a custom benchmark ,in coridor,select off volumetric shadows.
NOTEIf u hav quadrant free version,then replace advanced with standard
Warning:Stagefright hampers ur phones media capabilties.this tweak is just for funs sake.the code is lost at reboot.
and btw,i have a pathetic class2 8 gb micro sd card as internal memory

Here's my result.. When using antutu benchmark i always got a constant score of 2100+ but when i used quadrant benchmark my score before the fix is 1600-1800+ but after the fix i simultaneously scored 2100+ 2300+ 2400+.. Thanks for the fix.. May i know what was the tweak being done? The stagefright something? What is it for?

If anyone want to add the stagefright tweak then do this in your build.prop just replace false with true like this
media.stagefright.enable-player=false => true
media.stagefright.enable-meta=false => true
media.stagefright.enable-scan=false => true
media.stagefright.enable-http=false => true
media.stagefright.enable-record=false => true

There's no files related to BLD or BLN in that directory...I hate Nstools,and I don't want an application only for the leds gestion...
Other kernels have configuration files that can be edited to modify various parameters of the kernel...

won't work as bln/bld is hard-burnt so the kernel re-iniate them on each re-boot.
the problem w/NST is that it's non-selective. it cannot manage the features one by one but only all at once. actually i don't like how it tampers w/the cpu settings on each re-boot

create a file in /system/etc/init.d/
with contents as
Code:
# For disabling BLD
echo 0 > /sys/class/misc/backlightdimmer/enabled
# For disabling BLN
echo 0 > /sys/class/misc/backlightnotification/enabled
Don't add any extension to the file.
You should reboot for this to affect.

Code:

As seen here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877183 it seems that by modyfing a file in our beloved chacha, the cpu gets not used for rendering tasks.
What I did was:
rename /system/lib/egl/libGLES_android.so to /system/lib/egl/__libGLES_android.so
edit the /system/lib/egl/egl.cfg and
insert a # character before the android 0 0 line, so it gets changed to #android 0 0
I rebooted and it seems the phone is working again. I will keep an eye on the phone responsiveness and the battery life.

BTW: Why is it necesary to rename the file? Disabling that part in the cfg-file is not enough?

what would one change in the CM9 port? I saw someone mention that they use the CM9 port, and the setup of files wasn't the same.
which config would you edit? or which files would you rename?
I don't have android 0 0,
I've 0 0 android

I just renamed the part in the config file but didnt notice any difference.
So either I have to delete some files too or CM9 already uses this option.
i renamed mine, running on stock ginger

even the battery i think...

OK, I've using my ChaCha with both this hack of removing/commenting the
Code:
0 0 android
line, and the updated adreno libs of the other post.
I see an improvement of battery duration. It's not that week we all would like to have, but I now recharge the battery every 24-36 hours of *real* use, instead of every 8-10 like before.
With *real* use I mean the standard one, not test, where one would be trying things all the time just to test the battery duration.
What rom ?
Very good ! My batery life has now more 10hours !
Thank you !
Do this tweak work with other adreno chips like adreno205 ?!

I've flashed. Maybe placebo effect but seems smooth etc. Can't comment on battery life
First: What is sysctl?
If you want to know what it does... download it & unzip it... tada.
The zip contains /system/etc/sysctl.conf and a /system/etc/init.d script to process it at startup. It sets a bunch of kernel/system parameters. If it actually helps or not... I doubt anyone knows. You'll need to understand what each option does and how it interacts with the system & kernel. I'm sure very few people here know, and even less would care to painstakingly type out the detals of everything.
You could take each option, like fs.nr_open and try and Google it if you were interested.
Code:
#sysctl.conf file
fs.nr_open=1053696

This is a copy/paste job from this thread: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/24265-mod-increase-your-battery-tenfold/
Unless he is the OP on RootzWiki this is blatant plagiarism. Doubt it considering the original post is 2 years old.
If you want to use these "tweaks" then at least remove these lines:
Code:
kernel.sched_features=24189;
kernel.hung_task_timeout_secs=30;
kernel.sched_latency_ns=18000000;
kernel.sched_min_granularity_ns=1500000;
kernel.sched_wakeup_granularity_ns=3000000;
They are ancient and will only slow this cpu down.
I did mention this is not my script
I only made the flashable script.
This increases the performance for me. It's your choice if you want to use it or not.
