As seen here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877183 it seems that by modyfing a file in our beloved chacha, the cpu gets not used for rendering tasks.
What I did was:
rename /system/lib/egl/libGLES_android.so to /system/lib/egl/__libGLES_android.so
edit the /system/lib/egl/egl.cfg and
insert a # character before the android 0 0 line, so it gets changed to #android 0 0
I rebooted and it seems the phone is working again. I will keep an eye on the phone responsiveness and the battery life.

On my phone I just had libGLESv1_CM.so, libGLESv2.co and libGLESv2_dbg.so.
So should I try renaming all?

I use CM9.
BTW: Why is it necesary to rename the file? Disabling that part in the cfg-file is not enough?

Maybe you are right... Just editing the cfg file may should be enough.
Made the changes to my ChaCha. So far so good!
Performance wise it seems a hell of a lot better.
The device is much more responsive.
I'm yet to test the battery, I'll let you know how I get on.

OK: I don't know if it's me, but it seems that the battery last some longer...
what would one change in the CM9 port? I saw someone mention that they use the CM9 port, and the setup of files wasn't the same.
which config would you edit? or which files would you rename?
I don't have android 0 0,
I've 0 0 android
Anyway i renamed and applied, man tell us to backup before!

I just renamed the part in the config file but didnt notice any difference.
So either I have to delete some files too or CM9 already uses this option.

OK, I've using my ChaCha with both this hack of removing/commenting the
Code:
0 0 android
line, and the updated adreno libs of the other post.
I see an improvement of battery duration. It's not that week we all would like to have, but I now recharge the battery every 24-36 hours of *real* use, instead of every 8-10 like before.
With *real* use I mean the standard one, not test, where one would be trying things all the time just to test the battery duration.
What rom ?
Very good ! My batery life has now more 10hours !
Thank you !
Do this tweak work with other adreno chips like adreno205 ?!

Deleted Gallery3D.apk, copied your Galery.zip to root, flashed in recovery.
After boot-up no gallery to be found in the app-drawer (no apk is copied to system/app...) Programmes relying on Gallery.apk force close
strange man, i used this on my phone and works. i see if is wrong.
sorry man, i found the error the app is inside the system folder, the system folder is no need, in attach are the correct zip file.
Media Gallery
I've been running Media Gallery on different eclair ROMs. I found the instructions and apk on this site:
http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/...ilestone-multitouch-gallery-2-0-1-v1-0-a.html
If you follow the instructions step by step you should have no problems installing it. It won't install with an installer... you have to push the files into the right directories and reboot your phone. You can copy the xml file to your computer and edit it with wordpad and then push it back to /system/etc/permissions. It will overwrite the previous file. I use Android Commander to push the files where they need to go, because I've never had any luck getting adb to work on my computer.
anyone have a screenshot of this apk?

Thanks! This time it worked like a treat! Sure, the 3D Gallery looks great (and the performance was rather impressive, for an old Android phone) but the regular launcher is ofcourse way more responsive.
Very happy now, thanks again!
[Edit] By leaving the default 3D Gallery and just flasing your zip you have the chance to use both Galleries... Which is rather cool. 2D Gallery for yourself and the 3D one to show off
Firerat's patch fixed my slow 3dgallery. Try that as wel. You can have 2 gallery's installed...

You are a life saver really thankyou Gallery3D is so slowwwwwwwww.
I don't see where you guys are coming from.
3D gallery is loads faster than the old gallery. It makes much better use of the hardware.
In terms of speed, did any of you bother to wait for it to finish thumbnailing before making judgments on it?

+1.
I have no performance issues with 3dgallery so far. I am quite impressed by how responsive and smooth it is. Id suggest turn on 3dgallery, n leave it for a few minutes or so. Let it generate those thumbnails. Then see if the issue prevails.
did you read the open before making judgements about us......no. of course we gave it time to load. probably. about 4 hrs. total between a volume days.

***I*** read what he said, but you evidently did NOT. Nobody in this thread made any mention of waiting for it to thumbnail, and I suggest that NOBODY DID.
The 3d gallery are great fact, but wait to load 1800+ pics and cpl hundred vids.... leave the phone for 5 min and then back to use the gallery, the 3d gallery is quick but not too much for some ppl.
Hi All,
I have modified this Boot animation for I9003 using files from one for SII. This is animation of PC booting also there is a audio file of booting.
This should work on all stock GB version but you need to be rooted. I have tested is for XXKPH
Follow the steps given below to use this animation.
1) Attached Zip file includs "CustomBoot.zip" which has 2 files in it.
bootanimation
samsungani
Copy these two files to "/system/bin" with Root Explorer Or ADB or File expert. These files must be Executable.
ie. Permission should be executable
rwx
r_x
r_x
(r=read, w=write, x= executable)
2) Copy the file "sanim.zip" to "/system/media"
3) Copy the file "PowerOn.wav" to "/system/etc"

Thanks to Animal Lover for his base files.

Guys, don't get carried away by what you see on screen. The info you see is played from images, which is loaded into your custom boot animation. Its not real time info of the files being loaded from your mobile while booting..... That's not possible here. Its possible on pc.

That's true, These are just images (aprox 150 files) running at 30 images per second.
There are two bootanimations available on Android Market made by Chainfire which gives you actual log of boot. dont know exact names right now, But these give scroll of Dmsg and LogCat command at boot. Search for Chainfire in market and you can easily find it.

Hey there,
i wrote a little app which helps you to set the maximum frequencies of our O3D's.
It just does an "echo *selected speed* > /proc/opperator". So you no longer need a Terminal Emulator to set the max frequencie.
I'm not responsible for any damage you do to your phone, so overclock only if you know what you do.
For this app to work your Phone must be rooted and you must have a kernel with Overclock module support (thanks to bedwa and tekahuna), e.g. Titan Kernel by samo http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547319
Sorry for my english
P.S.: If somebody found a bug, please report and i'll try to fix it

Dont mean to take the glory away from the work the dev has put in but you can just download Rom Toolbox from the market and use the scripter function which allows you to write your script echo 1300000000 > /proc/opperator for instance and have it run every boot .

This mod will add init.d support to any rom even stock roms without editing the ramdisk. Instead it uses the post_boot.sh file that is in most if not all roms. It should work on most devices, if it does not work on yours please look in /system/etc and post the name of the file that contains "post_boot.sh".
This mod has been tested on the OneX and OneS.
To use just flash in recovery and add your favorite scripts to init.d.
For devs:
To add this method to your rom simply edit the post_boot.sh file and add this line at the bottom:
Code:
/system/etc/init.d/*
Easy right ? Suprised it hasn't been done before, well at least that i know of.
All files in init.d will be executed at boot just like regular init.d. You can also manually add the line and make it whatever directory you want.

Have you ever wondered why so many custom roms?are they really different from each other?
Answer is no,not really, they are all the same with tiny tweaks.
The MAJOR difference is inside of init.d.Those scripts is 95% of the difference between "good" ROM,"bad" ROM,"BEST?" ROM,... lol

try Easy_InitD_1.2.zip it has permission and a test script, look for /data/local/tmp/init.d_log_test.txt
if init.d_log_test.txt is there then init.d folder is working
cpu sleep and scripts to save battery.
just flash zip file through bmm or bootstrap

A little more info on how it works might be nice.
I see init.d in the zip. So, I guess ROM requires init.d support for these functions to run.

It's work perfect on JB Leak 2. I made a hungarian translation with the Leak 2 and flashed the archive with Atrix2Bootstrap Recovery. Active wlan or 2G connect the battery usage only 1 % / hour, i think it's great. I use SetCpu with interactive and noop I/O scheduler.
Thanks 18712886438, great work ! :good:

Yes it"s work perfecttly on Leak 1 too. With activ wifi connection the battarey usage: 1 % / hour, previously it's 2 % / hour without this script package. I not try the app, I use setcpu. I go back to ME HKTWN ICS and the scripts working as the same in the factory rom.
hi, what to do with the Chinese program?
Does it work on Official ICS 4.0.4
Hi people!
7I want to know if some one have tested this
On atrix 2 Running official ICS 4.0.4?
I want to be sure about before I flash it!!
That apk is CPU Sleeper Dual Core, which I found out by the apk name (eugene373). You can buy it on Play Store. Most probably, it is a free version (Chinese one included here). CPU sleeper works by shutting off the second core when in sleep mode.
The OP has still not clarified on the script
Thank you friend for the explanation. works great, the battery lives for a day more. :good:
awesome battery backup.
