I am a Verizon user, and from what I hear, only sprint users are privy to the new Blackboard Mobile app on the market... I didn't even know that Google differentiated between providers as to what they are allowed to download until today... Anyhow, if someone could upload the Blackboard Mobile apk, I would greatly appreciate it. I know other Verizon users are also looking for this and I'll gladly share it with them also.
If you don't know what Blackboard Mobile is, it's an online classroom environment used by universities so students can see assignments, download notes, and upload homework - The app is free to download, but is, for whatever the reason, restricted to Sprint users only.
Thanks for your help!

Let me know if it works for you or if you need anything else.
I found my school on it... they haven't enabled the mobile part of BB... ghetto.

Thanks for the upload! But the program itself is still restricted to sprint phones... The apk installs, and the app opens, but when I chose my school, it says that I am not on a Sprint Device and refuses to load anything... How restarted.
Thanks for your help though! Maybe some genius programmer on the Verizon side knows how to fool an app into believing I'm on a sprint network..

You could possibly trick it by shutting off your cellular connection and use wifi... not sure though.
Good luck, bummer it didn't work out.
I didnt even know this existed either, hoping my school enabled mobile also.
just like the iphone version.. still doesnt work with my school either.. whats the deal JUST ACCEPT THE FREAKING APP UNIVERSITIES
should i go ask tomorrow? hahha
wow, nice find! My school hasn't enabled it either though. What can you do with it?
Just a thought. Try loading a Sprint PRL. That may do the trick.
Awesome thanks! My school uses blackboard and I never thought to look for an app for it.
This is great. Downloading now
Edit: It crashes all the time on me. Not stable for my Evo
Why would anyone want this? It has a 2-star rating on the Market. It looks like total trash.
I read about this coming months ago and then forgot. Thanks for reminding me!

If you go to school, or your organization uses blackboard its actually quite handy my friend.. only reason the review is so low is because its sprint exclusive. So people try to use it, can't, and rate it bad. What do you want in a blackboard app, naked women and free drinks?
It wasnt working on the evo, emailed dev and they fixed it within a day. it works now and it works great, id give it 4 or 5 stars definitely worth it.
Alot of school's havent activated this, I asked my school about it, and they said they haven't added it because they haven't got the site where they want it, feature wise, before they add it. Even though I doubt what they do will have any effect on this.
And yeah, the bad ratings are because of all the people ranting about it only being for sprint.
I have one question. If i found aplication that is not free on market but posted online like .apk and I download to pc. After that transfer to my phone via usb then install on it, am i going to be chargred for that app or there is no way that anyone can charge me or know that i have one? Thanks.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
No, you will not be charged for it.
I should remind you that this is piracy, which is not encouraged.
arrrg shiver me timbers
only downside also to taking a apk on a torrent or whateve u will rarely get updates...more likely none

Thanks for answers, everything seems to be ok and resonable
Btw any good app for VPN (cisco) does not meter if has to be paid as long that work propertly?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
i am not condoning piracy, but yes it is possible to just download an app from the web. appbrain does a good (but accidental) job of telling you when they need updates. you will need to find another version online though to manually update.
applanet is baisically all this but inside a single app. it is a pirated android market. once again, i dont encourage piracy, niether do i use it.

As someone who develops Android apps - please just go pay for it. We put a lot of effort into making these things and it's only a few dollars. The dollar you just saved was food you just took off someones table.
That said, any Android developer worth his salt should have already implemented the Market License feature. The new license model can remotely validate that your copy is legit and allows the developer to respond how they choose.
In my apps, I lock you out and show a nag screen with a market link... but I know some devs who just quietly phone home with your device ID and phone number.

Hey guys check it out here's a link for Netflix for android came from lg revolution system dump load fine but can't stream...if ya want to try and can figure out what wrong
MOD EDIT: Links removed. Sorry; this is questionable at best.
Things that are wrong, system checks for correct device and DRM.
Wow this would be awesome. Please help fix!
Lulz, I suspended my Netflix account when I saw they weren't making their app available to all handsets. If someone makes it work reliably... nahh... **** Netflix and their bull. Torrent + Rock Player 4 life.
I have it running on my n1. It lets me manage my queue, as well as search Netflix's library. However when I try to stream a video it tells me that it cannot connect to Netflix. Oh well. Still nice to use the official app to manage my queue.

Yeah, piracy forever! Who cares if they can't pay to make new content!
My goal when I started this thread was no to discuss piracy such as torrent... but to find a way to make Netflix apk work on our device... we were all benefit from this...well not really

I agree. I for one as a Netflix subscriber would love to have this working on my Nexus One, let's keep the piracy out of it so this thread stays open and the Devs get to work
Has anyone been able to extract the system dump? Always get an 'unexpected end of archive' error. Tried three times. Really need to see what's in the lib folder.

Streaming issues aside, I wish Netflix and their dev could work on improving the browsing performance on the app. Even on WP7 and iOS the loading of movies when you are browsing around takes a while.
Has anyone tried to change build.prop yet? Possibly tricking Netflix into thinking you are using a LG rev?
Not sure how to get DRM going though. :/

yeah when I look at it in netflix it recognized that it a N1 its say NFGOOG-01-NEXUS=ONE-354957037530444 so it most know what devices will have access to it and just haven't flip the switch that lets us all in.

This sounds promising. But I am certain that hardware DRM is envolved in someway. Bypassing this could be challanging.

Thread closed, links removed. Encouraging the reverse engineering of Netflix's DRM is not acceptable for discussion on XDA-Developers.

Is it possible to change my IMEI number? My phone is rooted, and running CoreDroid 5.3. I have my old Samsung Mythic, so I could use that IMEI number, so then I could get unlimited data for only $10 a month. But then if I did change it, would I still be able to get 4G data? Anyway, help would be greatly appreciated.
That would be possible, but illegal!

What's the likelihood of getting caught?
i tried to look into changing my IMEI on android, but never was able to get it. no solution exists yet for android. i looked thru all the source code to try to compile something myself, but i dont think google leaves this part available to us. at least not that i could locate.

Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried Wifi Tether or similar apps with the new gingerbread stock Rom.
I didn't have much luck with Wifi Tether on froyo (had some issues), so I haven't used anything other than PdaNet, but I don't really like PdaNet because it's a little too much (like having to install application on a computer, etc).
If you know anything good, please let me know.
Thank you,
GT
Root your phone and install a custom gingerbread rom. You won't have to worry about wifi tether not working.
Off topic: this is like the third thread I've seen been created asking the same question. Is there something in the water?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
FYI, I did perform search, which did not bring up anything specific to gingerbread and wifi tether.
Also, your suggestion is only "one of many" options that my thread is designed to ask. If you are going to be obnoxious, please don't bother replying in the first place.
Thanks,

No. That's a guy saying his default wifi tethering option is not working for his stock ROM. It is not the same thing.
My thread, if you read carefully, is meant to be where people can share different apps and experiences on gingerbread regarding various tethering options.
I am not a moron. I can read. I will not double-post or do noob stuff like that. I can imagine how many people here are annoyed by that occurrence, but let's not be so quick to jump to that conclusion?

Right, because just one person's word is absolute and everything, right? And, only market apps are our options, right? Not to mention, that comment posted by that person still doesn't change what that thread is about. In most forums, posting a different topic under a specific topic is considered hijacking. Furthermore, when you do a search, you can't possibly be expecting people to read every single post under every thread that shows up in search. Maybe that's how you do your search, which is both unrealistically impressive and unusual, but most of us do search in a normal way. We read the search results, which are often just the thread titles and a few posts.
If you are in this forum, you should know better than that. Before you make a post like this, you might wanna think a bit harder.

first quit it with the attitude. Nobody giving you attitude so drop it and you can google it but nobody found one yet maybe att made sure we can't with the ROM

Ok guys wuusssaaa. Being rude will get you nowhere.
Now as for tethering there may be away around it but it going to be short lived as ATT finds more ways to tell if you are tethering and blocks it. I am one that if you want to tether then grab the plan to do it. We have already seen what happens when data is abused. We get teired and next we will be throttled.
So let's all just get along and chill.
It helps to not confuse wanting to use the hotspot feature and wanting to tether with a USB cable. The hot spot feature requires using a custom apn if you are not going to pay for it. Then AT&T can see all that data passing thru "wap.cingular", instead of "phone" like it should. When tethering using a USB cable, you can use the stock "phone" apn, so data useage properly shows on the account. In the past, with Froyo, I did test out PDA Net, and it worked great with the stock apn. Since I have no need to tether, I haven't used it since and I haven't tested it with Gingerbread.

I will if you quit. I am not the one with attitude. People usually do not appreciate unhelpful responses to a thread they made, especially if they are based on presumptions against the poster's ability to use the forum. I asked nicely for you guys to be more careful before making the kind of posts you made. You did not listen and instead kept pushing. Not my fault.

I've read threads about those, but it seems that it only applies to people who "abuse" it as you stated. So, this isn't really a reason for all users to give up on other tethering options.
For example, in the past 2 years, I've only used tethering twice, both on occasions when I traveled to a place without wifi. It is not reasonable to pay that over-priced tethering plan for rare use of this feature.
I also doubt that AT&T will be able to catch all tethering use on all of their customers. Obvious cases with excess abuse make sense, but not rare and low use, like mine. I read somewhere that Verizon began policing tethering use on their customers on gingerbread, but even then some users reported they were able to get around it.

Thank you, fernandezhjr. That's an excellent point and helpful.
If that's what makes the difference, I wonder if it is possible to write an app that can create a wifi spot using the stock apn. It doesn't sound too difficult to do, but maybe I'm wrong.
I also wonder if tethering via bluetooth makes any difference too?
