My Chinese friends are such big buyers that they seems always have the impulsion to buying out any supermarket in any free perimeters, especially for the electronics. ( e.g. lots of them had purchase the latest Nexus phones and send back to their friends in China)
Compare with people in other regions, Chinese consumers are the better enthusiasts on the high-end smartphones. But what interesting me is although Chinese smartphone brands release their high-end smartphones (based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC) frequently, yet the Chinese consumers can barely find those smartphones in the market.
For SAMSUNG and SONY Mobile, they had already help Qualcomm to sold 10million Snapdragon 800 globally. GALAXY Note III have sold over 5 million Pcs(not mention other model of SAMSUNG). SONY Mobile had also sold out over 2 million Snapdragon 800 globally with the model of Togari, Honami, and Amami.

This chart demonstrates the shipment of Snapdragon 800 SoC smartphones in China: SAMSUNG has sold more than 700K Pcs GALAXY Note III & SONY Mobile has sold more than 150K Pcs Togari and Honami.
What’s surprised me is Lenovo had purchased more than 300K Pcs Snapdragon 800 SoC but they had never release any smartphones based on this chip. This number is such a big number even them are prepared for their new smartphones (K910), Lenovo had never sold any high-end model over 500K pcs in the past.
lenovo used mtk before but it will catch the steps of samsung and sony in the future

Xiaomi, which is very close with Qualcomm , didn’t purchase any Snapdragon 800 chipsets.

Qualcomm might be pissed off by Xiaomi( their new smartphones will using MTK6589T(Hongmi) and nVIDIA Tegra 4(Xiaomi III), which both are competitors for Qualcomm).
For Qualcomm, it is not a good news that Xiaomi walk close with the Taiwan Chip Supply. However, if they can cooperate with Lenovo in China market, it will definitely help they keep the marketing leader in the Mobile processing chip industry.

Is that a USB key in your pocket or a dual-core computer? Today, Norwegian company FXI technologies showed off a USB stick-sized portable computer prototype, complete with a dual-core 1.2-GHz Samsung Exynos ARM CPU (same as in the Galaxy S II), 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI-out and a microSD card slot for memory. Codenamed Cotton Candy because its 21 gram weight is the same as a bag of the confection, the tiny PC enables what its inventor calls “Any Screen Computing,” the ability to turn any TV, laptop, phone, tablet, or set-top box into a dumb terminal for its Android operating system.

The Cotton Candy also runs arm compatible versions of Linux, and is said to be compatible with Windows 8 ARM.
Thoughts? I think this would be great for low end computer replacement, or a small gaming system for emulators along side a bluetooth controller and a 32gb memory card. Even a small media center hub for your TV, download Netflix, Hulu, video apps, or whatever streaming and media apps you want and boom, HTPC right there.
Wow Seems brilliant haha

I think that's pretty awesome. Having the ability to take my computer and plug it into any size tv would be amazing.

Apparently it's a portable Exynos soc, so it won't be that hard to port ICS to that little bad boy when Samsung pushes the update for the GS2.
I'm thinking win8 with arm support to be a real PC
Max. (From my Galaxy 2)
And who says there is no need for a quad core mobile cpu. Although the chip they are using is nice, and tegra 3 or quad core Samsung soc would be awesome on this device.

Whoa... Samsung is letting other companies use the Exynos SoC?
That's awesome... Samsung must really consider their Exynos SoC to be top of the line... and it is!
Oh, that is very cool.
Lava has launched the Xolo X900 smartphone which also becomes the first Intel powered smartphone in the world for Rs 22,000.
The device is based on the Intel Medfield reference design and features a 1.6GHz Atom processor, a GPU clocked at 400MHz, a 4.03-inch display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, a 8-megapixel camera with 1080p shooting capabilities, NFC and HDMI connectivity. Intel claims the camera can take 10 pictures in under a second in full resolution in burst mode setting. Lava says the device can produce five hours of battery life with 3G browsing and can deliver 45 hours of audio and eight hours of talk time.
The device run stock Android 2.3 and will not ship with the latest version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. For its part Lava says an OTA Ice Cream Sandwich update is in the works.
The device will be available in India on April 23 at Croma or from Xolo.in, and will hit retail chains in early May.
We are feel happy because it launched in india first

Development on XOLO?
Is there anyone here developing for this device or no one has even bothered so far?
I did a YouTube battery life test on my Xolo. Set to auto brightness. Watching the 2 hour, 6 minute 2012 Google I/O took exactly 50% of the battery.

I guess people would be a little bit skeptical in buying a 22k lava...
Standby time is pretty sweet. 2 days, 20 hours standby, and 2:15 of screen time.

Hi Guys
I'm thinking to buy beetween pre-order the Moto Z Unlocked in the MotoMaker , but I have a question for a information why you can reed in the Motorola WebPage... the Unlocked version show a "Snapdragon 820 Processor, up to 1,8 GHz"... is possible why they was underclocked the Processor in the Unlocked version..?
Thanks
Hi, one question that bugs me... does the device have TWO nano sim holders AND a card slot (Micro SD)? Or is it just a hybrid slot for second sim OR card?
It's just a hybrid slot for second sim OR card.
Thanks. I guess they'll never learn. No idea why they get it right for the "cheapo" Play model.
Z's CPU is underclocked (to around 1.8 gh), for global unlocked GSM version, according to official Motorola product webpage. Only the Verizon exclusive model is fully clocked.

Is it possible to overclock it up to what frequency?
I wonder if Lenovo actually don't want people buying this phone. Ridiculous.
I've just got my brand new Samsung galaxy S8 plus with my local telecom company ( starhub Singapore) ever since 29th April 2017. Being using it for a few days and found that it is just as fast as my onplus 3t.
Today I feel that I might being cheated due to the news that Samsung is the first to lunch galaxy S8 with a brand new processor "Exynos Octa 8895 which suggested to be a 10nm processor that is as great as Snapdragon 835.
And to my surprise to find that my S8+ is using Exynos Octa 8890! 14nm as good as Snapdragon 821.
CPU-Z just got it wrong as Exynos8890 (latest update Jan19, 2017). You should use AIDA64 instead. It says Exynos 8895.

Let me know where you got your's, I'll try to pick up one from the same place this weekend.

What a time to be alive, everyone wants to be first without even so much as a cursory thought to verifying their information.

Thanks bro, must say I'm very satisfied with my S22 Ultra. But we still need Samsung to do some tweeking, specially with the graphics driver. My phone doesn't even get hot during the test, so my phone can with no doubt manage a higher CPU and GPU clock freq. Hope it will happen, otherwise rooting and own build kernel.

Yeah I'm quite happy with mine too and I 100% agree with you that the new Soc and gpu needs updated drivers and optimisation ..also thirdparty apps also need to update their apps for the brand new gpu from AMD than we will have a perfect device ....or maybe that's never gonna happen..
Exynos without new firmware
Max i can get is
820k in antutu
650 single / 3300 multi / 9000 opencl in geekbench
5050 in wild life...
