HELP!!! - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So here is my problem. I had rooted my n5 and decided to unroot because when i changed roms I could not get signal.
Now with a toolkit I have tried restoring and unrooting the device. everything goes well up until bootup where it has been about 30 minutes and its just stuck on a bootloop it seems!! i need some help. not new to rooting or flashing but just dont know what is wrong here.

Thank you so much, never using a toolkit again. BTW is it normal that that it fails to mount/cache when trying to flash a rom or anything for that matter?

[Q] Htc chacha stuck on boot screen

My ChaCha is stuck at HTC boot screen. i have done factory reset, battery pulls and installing ROMS to no avail. I keep getting errors while trying to install the stock ROMS. Am I going about it the right way, trying to find ROMs or Is there something else I can do to solve this problem.

Yes, I have root and can boot to recovery. I already tried clearing the dalvik cache and factory reset. i also restored from a Nandroid backup, all this to no avail. The boot loop problem still persist.
i also tried flashing ROM but all the ROMs i got gives one error or the other. I really need help.

[solved] Used CM installer, now all roms stuck during boot animation

Decided to try the CM installer (Mac) today, phone was previously completely stock. Everything went fine (at least it reported fine), but when CM was about to boot, it just got stuck on the CM boot animation forever.
I then tried flashing another rom (dirty unicorns) via adb sideload in clockwork, and while no errors were reported, it too gets stuck on boot animation.
So now I don't know what to do?
Did you wipe data?

Yes. Right now I'm attempting to unroot to see if that works. But I'd really like to go back to a custom rom.
Edit. Unroot was a success.

Regardless, I followed an unroot guide, then another root guide, and now flashing roms works flawlessly. So problem solved.

The first boot always takes longer as it is setting up, but no longer than ~5 minutes.
Anyway... If you've waited and it is boot looping, try these steps:
Make sure your recovery is up to date.
Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Flash ROM, gapps, and any addons
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot. After first reboot is complete and on setup screen, wait 5 minutes and reboot into recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvik again. Reboot
This reboot could also take ~5 minutes, but the others shouldn't as long as you don't wipe cache and dalvik.
You should see an "Android is Upgrading" screen. After this is done, complete setup and you should be good to go.

Back to stock rom for now, prepare (charge until full).
Re-root, then reboot to recovery to try again flashing the rom.
Always format /system, /cache, /data/media first when installing different roms. Good luck

Stock rom is working fine? Is root working on stock?
Did you get any errors while flashing costom roms?
I remember a folk here got a same problem as you, and i think it's not resolved yet..
Maybe you and him have a "special" devices.
Don't worry, it's not a problem with your ext-sd because i use it all the time. and if it was ext-sd problem, you'll get an error while flashing.
I suggest messages devs in developement section, maybe they can figure out what is wrong.
And of course i think it's not safe to restore others nandroid backup, so don't mind find it.
God speed, wish I can help you more

Sadly my stock rom is gone.
So yesterday when I've rerooted whit your link I've received two errors :
- SOKP and when I've flash it something like poped up : E:Cannot write to sd card clockworkmod recovery etc.
- CM 11 :
Root Access Possibly Lost Fix?
THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE
1. YES fix root (/system/xbin/su)
2. NO do not fix

Like I said earlier, you should have flashing stock rom first to remove root via odin/hemidall.. you can find it at sammobile, com
then re-root with link i gave earlier again via odin/hemidall, and format in recovery like i said earlier. no wonder you still fail..
you should have philz touch recovery instead cwm if you succeed.

[Q] Soft Brick??? Maybe or a unique problem?

Hi Everyone
I recently bought a One plus one with much difficulty.
Then I decided to root it
I did everything, unlocking bootloader, installing twrp and then super su.
After that I decide to install a rom while following all the procedures.
When the rom finished installing on twrp, I reboot the phone and it show's the madhi rom and ends up with the swirling colours thing.
I waited for more than 20 minutes and nothing happened.
Tried re flashing and yet the same result.
I then decided to wipe cache, dalvik cache and system and install another rom but the same thing. It installs successfully on twrp but when the system is booting it gets stuck. I have already tried other roms via adb sideload but still no luck.
I'm not sure if i call this soft bricked or something else
Unfortunately I was an idiot, forgetting to back up the stock rom.
I can't seem to find anyone else who has this problem. I have rooted my htc one m7 before (which also got hard bricked), so i have a little experience.
I would really appreciate the help.
Did you check the md5 of the downloaded ROMs before flashing? You might corrupt downloads.

Try pulling a logcat while booting and recovery log after flash

Did you try using odin to restore the stock firmware to its original factory state and start over from there? Works for me every time.

yes I did. I flash a stock rom using odin. nothing happened. then I wiped data/factory reset in recovery mode and then flashed rom...
I lost all my data without any backup but it worked.
I really hate myself at the moment
Sorry for wasting your time.
