There are at least three programs on the market than you can use to download swf files. If one doesn't work, try the others. They differ a lot.
1) Flash Grabber & Viewer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=avalle.net.flashgrabber&hl=en) 3 out of 5 stars IMO
2) Flash Game Box (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goblinsoft.flashbox&hl=en) 4 out of 5
3) HTML ANALYZER for Download(ad) (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.kensmix.pictrosefree&hl=en_GB) 5 out of 5 stars
thank you

To play SWF on Android phone or tablets, there are usually two methods: Method 1: Install a SWF for Android player; Method 2: Convert SWF to Android more supported video format.

My question/observation concerns the 2 different flash add-ons available for WM:
Flash 7 and Flash Lite.
One would think that Flash Lite is the update for F7 - One would be WRONG!
Older Flash sites just do not work under FL but work fine under F7.
However YouTube classic hangs IE and sometimes requires a reboot under F7.
Does anyone know whats going on with this? I would sure like to hear from someone on the Flash Mobile team at Adobe as to why FL does not play older flash sites.
Anyone else have these problems?
Let me also say I love Flash and Flex and as far as I am concerned, Adobe should just port F9 to WM and call it done!
uh .... you can compare the functionality of the versions here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashlite/version/
AFAIK ... Flash lite is a "STANDALONE" player ... and Flash 6 & 7 is actually an ACTIVEX plugin. ( someone correct me if I'm wrong )
2 totally different beasts ... the way Adobe -->> formerly Macromedia had named the Flash Player version 6 & 7 is kind of misleading/confusing ... I don't know how many times I've seen people mistaken it for a "STANDALONE" player because its name have the word "PLAYER" ... etc
and why would a "LITE" be an update/upgrade ??? one would think it's the other way around isn't it ???
Still can't figure out what flash -lite actually plays?
Exactly what kind file does FL play?
When I run it and it gives me a file list -there is never any files in the list.
Even when there are flv files in a folder they do not show up.
The FL player seems to be complete useless!
Unfortunately the older F7 player causes IE to hang on YouTube so its pretty much useless as well now.
Maybe FL3 will correct this whole mess.
Your link was somewhat helpful btw!
Thanks!

It plays the flash 6(may be 7 too) based files nicely, but, if flash 8 or 9 just refuse to play due to the different infrastucture they use as compared to the older versions.
If given a choice I woul choose flash 7(the DLL one) with a player that can use the DLL to play the local swf files
PS: you may require a lot of RAM to play the files

I have been using the flash video bundle - just don't understand what use Flash Lite is at all. Seems a mystery to me.

Hi guys,
I'm having some issues and woukd like some assistance:
1) I cant view pdf documents so I've tried to download Adobe Reader LE but can't find it anywhere. Any one got a link?
2) Can't play you tube videos even though flash and java are both running in the background. I'm getting the following error message "cannot play the file. The file is either corrupted or the player does not support the format you are trying to play". Any help as to why this is the case? I have used vtap to play videos successfully but can't get youtube to do this.
3) Can anyone recommend a good GPS tracking software (compatible with Google maps) for the vox?
Thanks

^ yes there is something called a HTC Streaming media player that will help watch youtube vids
1) Adobe Reader LE comes with many of the ROMs posted in this forum. Alternatives are also there. One of them being PDF To Go, which is bundled with Documents To Go.
2) Coreplayer (which is the best media player, in my opinion) plays Youtube videos.
3) I am not really into GPS. But I think TomoTom 7 is a good option. In this regard, you may read on the other posts in this forum, by experts.

hey just wondering if know where and if you can download flash games off the net and play them off your nexus one without using your data...
i think i remember a add on for firefox that allowed you to download the flash game but i cant find it... anyone have any ideas
Thanks
bump...
any1 got any ideas
I kinda got it working. If you download this extension for chrome: http://www.chromeplugins.org/google/chrome-plugins/ext-getflash-8721.html
You can then go to the mobile site on your desktop, click the extensions logo then right click and save the game via the new 'Download' link that will appear. You can then open the games via a file browser. However in both Dolphin HD and the stock browser the games will not go full screen. While they will load and play fine they simply won't go full screen unlike their online counterparts :/
Try these 2 from miniclip mobile:

Can anyone please let me know if there is any app to download videos from any site (not just You Tube)?
I want to download videos (generally flash videos) from any website.
I searched on net and market but there are apps that download videos from You Tube but not from any other site.
i dont think thats possible on galaxy 3.. until full flash support is up..
Thanks for the reply rudolf895 but I think flash is only needed to play the videos not to download them. And also, if there are apps that download videos from You Tube, then I dont think there is any problem in coding an app that will support any website (not just You Tube)?
The app should be that: The User just need to enter the url from which you want to download the video and app should do the rest.
Please let me know your thoughs on this.

No dude!! I am only looking for normal videos...
Videos2Android
Use "Save Video plugin for Internet Explorer". It allows you convert videos during downloading. Just select Convert>Devices>Droid before download videos.
Every app I've tried that says that you just share the link with the app, and then it will download the video, fails to do so. When the link is shared, the app then reports that there is no video in the link. I'm at a loss. I don't wanna download on my laptop and trans over to droid device, that defeats the purpose of using the droid device. If i wanted to use the laptop all the time i wouldn't have got a tablet.
Use bytetornado, it's working!
I found this:
http://www.appszoom.com/android_applications/media_and_video/web-video-downloader_blftq.html
It's not free. But it does work about 50% of the time...
I'm sorry. I have to take back my last post. It turns out that web video downloader is no longer available on the play store. Meaning you'll have to get it elsewhere. And even then it still has a very low success rate. I'm currently trying to download and it keeps crashing. I'm disgusted. Why isn't there an android app similar to internet download manager for windows? Something that captures streaming video?
there are 2 that I have found

Not sure if you are still looking but there are 2 apps that I have found. One is dowloadr...not great and crashes a fair bit but could be the user not the program! the best one imo is video catcher....there is a free demo version with almost full capability or for a dollar you can upgrade and download many vids simultaniosly... basically with videocatcher if you can play it on your screen it can download it.... both in the store

firefox for android will do the work for you..
just add the flash video downloader add-on..
b
No app worked.
I used opera and adm download manager.
In opera, type about:cache and search for the right file by clicking on preview.
A dialogue box will allow you to open the link with adm.
Start the download with adm.
I had to search a bit for the video file because there are sometimes no extensions and you don't know which site is really hosting the video.
You may consider deleting previous caches in settings to avoid this problem.

Try TubeMate for YouTube videos.......It's against google policy to download videos and hence this app is no longer available on the market...
Click here to go to the app's homepage

Dude if you really have the video URL you can download it in any browser. The content you're after is typically one of several components of a web page; the URL you have is either for the surrounding web page, or perhaps for the swf player (the active element that chromes your video stream and provides limited interactivity with the Flash server).
What you actually need is an app to parse the obfuscated video URL from the page source--and to perform authentication if the video is hosted on an RTMP server. In other words, a YouTube downloader extension is not as easily repurposed as you imagine.
For the (GUI-dependent) majority, just using a downloader that can perform RTMP handshaking is non-trivial. That said, RTMPDump binaries have been compiled for Android--give it a try and let us know how it works out.
so i'm not sure if this is a thread yet or not but does anyone on here use icefilms.info? if so is there a way for those of us with rooted inspire 4G's to stream icefilms. it requires the divx player add on (old version of divx player) and icefilms script from user scripts to play on google chrome on my pc. seems like it should be easy for android phones but am a noob and have only just rooted my phone like 2 weeks ago. anyone with any ideas
im wanting to do this too, there is a greasemonkey app that you can get, but i dont think theres a divx webplayer addon
hi guys, Altair from icefilms here...
if you go here, follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899141
then you can. I personally use an app called Vplayer, but YXPlayer works just as well...
if you copy the link to the video on megaupload, and go to the app, you can press the menu button and select input URL and then directly stream the video.
but coincidently im actually here on the forums now to try and get the ball rolling on an official app so... yeah, watch this space.
altair.
