My question/observation concerns the 2 different flash add-ons available for WM:
Flash 7 and Flash Lite.
One would think that Flash Lite is the update for F7 - One would be WRONG!
Older Flash sites just do not work under FL but work fine under F7.
However YouTube classic hangs IE and sometimes requires a reboot under F7.
Does anyone know whats going on with this? I would sure like to hear from someone on the Flash Mobile team at Adobe as to why FL does not play older flash sites.
Anyone else have these problems?
Let me also say I love Flash and Flex and as far as I am concerned, Adobe should just port F9 to WM and call it done!
uh .... you can compare the functionality of the versions here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashlite/version/
AFAIK ... Flash lite is a "STANDALONE" player ... and Flash 6 & 7 is actually an ACTIVEX plugin. ( someone correct me if I'm wrong )
2 totally different beasts ... the way Adobe -->> formerly Macromedia had named the Flash Player version 6 & 7 is kind of misleading/confusing ... I don't know how many times I've seen people mistaken it for a "STANDALONE" player because its name have the word "PLAYER" ... etc
and why would a "LITE" be an update/upgrade ??? one would think it's the other way around isn't it ???
Still can't figure out what flash -lite actually plays?
Exactly what kind file does FL play?
When I run it and it gives me a file list -there is never any files in the list.
Even when there are flv files in a folder they do not show up.
The FL player seems to be complete useless!
Unfortunately the older F7 player causes IE to hang on YouTube so its pretty much useless as well now.
Maybe FL3 will correct this whole mess.
Your link was somewhat helpful btw!
Thanks!

It plays the flash 6(may be 7 too) based files nicely, but, if flash 8 or 9 just refuse to play due to the different infrastucture they use as compared to the older versions.
If given a choice I woul choose flash 7(the DLL one) with a player that can use the DLL to play the local swf files
PS: you may require a lot of RAM to play the files

Already got that working fine`
I have been using the flash video bundle - just don't understand what use Flash Lite is at all. Seems a mystery to me.
As for using F7, like I said it is messing up pIE on Youtube - just hangs it.

Hi, new to the forums, and couldn't find an "omnia" section, so I guess this is the place to post this.
I just got an omnia and I am having a hell of a time trying to get it to play video.
I have tried:
tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72rc1.cab
tcpmp-0.72rc1-arm-ppc-recomp-03.cab
TCPMPMediaPlayer0.81RC1Beta.cab
divxplayer_PPC_0
coreplayer v1.2.5
coreplayer v1.3
and the instructions listed here http://www.pspmyspace.com/omnia/2008/11/watch-youtube-videos-on-samsung-omnia.html (theres a thread on this site with same post, just links didnt work...)
Long story short, I would love to watch the shows I download that are in mp4 format on this phone, its a big reason I picked this one.
Most of the time, I get errors back to the general extent of "cant play h.264" (even after load h.264.cab). Depending on which version I am using above, I sometimes get the crash.txt on TCPMP, or on the ARM-PPC version, it crashes when I try to open the file.
Any help is REALLY appreciated.
Thanks
*UPDATE*
I did get some video working using the 4 part steps provided in the link above. After some testing, .avi videos I have from 2005 and earlier seem to play no problem. newer .avi and .mp4 still refuse to play though.
I am unsure what could be causing this, but I assume its newer codecs that were used in these videos. Does anyone have any ideas here?
Dunno' how bumping is viewed on this board, but since i'm 3 pages back now, can anyone help with this?
Thanks
I think if you install Flash Lite 3, it should work as long as you view the video in PC/Desktop mode.
You are talking about ONLINE youtube videos right?
Unless it's incompatible with Omnia, although Omnia is WinMo.....it should work for you tube.
Just install the .cab
And open opera, and go to youtube
And click on view in Desktop/PC Mode
Then click on a video.
Update: I didn't read the MP4, AVI part. LOL Sorry.
Have you purchased a full version of Core Player Mobile? I had a symbian phone, for example, and I installed a cracked Core Player Mobile, and it couldn't play the videos or it couldn't install. So I bought the real full latest version and it worked miracle. I am not sure if it is just as good in WinMo though
Hi,
I have a HTC Touch HD (Rom version: 1.14.405.3) and sometimes when I try to watch a video online (streaming using Opera or IE) I get a message: Adobe Flash outdated or Javascript disabled.
You Tube Application plays videos fine, but any videos on different websites does not... is this a flash issue...?
I tried to download Adobe Flash 2.1 or 3.0, but I couldn't find the download link on Adobe.com.
Is this a known issue...?
Flash on Windows Mobile
Flash on Windows Mobile is rather problematic at the moment and very hit and miss. Some sites work fine, others do not. You can try looking for a new version of Opera, which I believe has some better flash support. I've also found that skyfire is working quite well for some of the different sites I've tried (e.g. Hulu, Youtube, etc.).
I have opera version 9.5, build 2682.
Can I get the link to the cab file of Adobe Lite 2 or 3...? I found a thread here but the link was removed due to Adobe Compliant.

I think if it was possible to repackage it someone would have already done it. I have no exerience with hex editing and I was able to do it. Just use this hex editor http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm
Use root explorer to pull out the file libflashplayer.so and open it up with the hex editor and use the find to search for text string AND and change it to WIN. Then copy it back over to the original file location. If you need more help send me a pm.

This works just fine on my G-Tablet, running VEGAn-Tab Build, BETA 5.1.1. Thanks for posting.
In addition to ksc6000s post... find the "and" which comes before the flash version number. Then replace and with win and the android version number with the windows version number, this way you don't get an update to the latest flash dialogue. Some people put nines for numbers and have reported success. Or download the pre edited version floating around this post. Then make sure your browser settings are allowing plug ins and set to desktop. hope that gives some more detail also if you see loading for a while be patient it takes a bit to load in my experiences.
Works fine in portrait mode. A little jerky with lag in full screen landscape mode with 480 resolution. Dolpin set to Desktop mode. REMEMER TO UNINSTALL Flash 10.1 before installing 10.2 with Hulu fix.
Stock 3318 pack with 3.14 enhancement pack.
Installed. Seems slower than 10.1. But on the bright side, hulu hack works. It never did on 10.1

I agree about the slowness, but Hulu with 10.1 didn't work on Vegan 7. This one does. Now if we could only get general video support on Vegan 7...
Ill have to try this I've tried a few times to get hulu and no fix ever seemed to work.
Hulu works for me. Even tethered to my phone. May pause when tethered but only initially. No problems on home wifi. Fullscreen isn't quite fullscreen but if you choose the pop-out it fills the screen almost prefect. The on screen controls for the player are a bit difficult to use, but I can use them. The Hulu app works really well in portrait mode as a way to watch shows quickly. The about:debug part of the hack is critical.
i get no sound out of my flash videos, im on vegan 7. ive tried hulu and youtube, videos play fine but no sound
This worked on samsung galaxy tab Verizon with Klean v3. The trick is to enable flash plugin all the time in dolphin. I had mine set to on demand and when i changed it hulu worked. I also recommend choosing the pop out player when watching a movie. After you give it some time to load it runs really smooth

+1 same issue same ROM
I'm on Vegan 7 and works fine for me other than working the controls is a pain (was like that before, not a 7 issue). Other flash players don't have that problem.

Does anyone else have problems with choppy video in Dolphin using Hulu? Is there a trick to get it to play smoother? Other videos play fine outside of the browser. I am running TnT Lite 4.4.0
No Sound...
I am also experiencing no sound irrespective of the source through the speakers. I can get sound through the headphones via music player though.
Update: I now have sound through the speakers but nothing from hulu....
Simple and straightforward question. Is there a way to play Flash content on WP7? For example the use of a sort of 'Skyfire' browser or any other way.
Simple and straightforward answer: No
Flash video? Yes
Flash? No (not yet)
We are trying to think of a better more universal way to play flash video as now its quite tough to get right.
I thought there was no way to play Flash even in iOS and Skyfire. Doesn't skyfire only try to convert/render Flash Videos and does not do true Flash?
Dam I need flash on my other phone
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
The app flash video for wp7 allows for some flash videos. I've watched movies and shows like The immortals, jersey shore and the walking dead, but no real browser support though.

I was reffering to flash videos yes. Flash for anything else is useless anyway. The only other use for it is if flash games are made specifically for mobile phones, but in that case you're better of make a native game anyway.

Flash games allow you to capture all audiences without having to extensively program for each indivual platform. And I am not sure what you mean by specifically for mobile phones.

In this case yes thats possible. We have delivered a proof of concept with metro browser. It plays flash video fine, however the problem is finding the direct links to the flv files for which there is no standard way and all comes down to hacking and reverse engineering the security mechanisms of sites like megavideo/putlocker/novamov a.o.
So yes playing flash on Windows Phone is certainly possible and works extremely well. The problem is obtaining and detecting the flv's itself (which are often hidden).
We really would like to find a more generic and universal solution but at the moment there is none. We would need massive servers like skyfire to prerender every webpage and then capture any flv file. Which is not really possible to accomplish for hobby developers.
To play flash video - as mentioned above, yeah it doable, but its not an exact science yet. Running flash based websites, also runs ActionScript and possibly other scripts from the browser which I'm guessing is probably the real conundrum here. Just try running any kind of flash site from a browser on your PC with all plug-ins disabled, and your security settings popped to the maximum. It won't happen there either.
Hello everybody.I need some help. I donwloaded swf player to play The Binding of Isacc. But there was one problem: swf player couldnt found flash player plugin. I tried a lot of versions of flash(official, modified) - not working. I noticed one thing: when flash was not installed ,there was a messege "flash player not found" but when flash was installed there was no message. Unfortunately, when i tried to launch .swf files, programm said that i have no flash player plugin.(even if flash player installed) (maybe this info will help,if i wrote this rightly, lol)
I tried to fix it for 3 days,so iam tired now.
I have nonrooted Nexus 7 2012 , android 4.4.4
Swf player v.1.67 by issess
I wil be very grateful for any help.

flash stopped supporting android some time ago, that's probably why it cant get the plug-in.
im not sure if there is a workaround on the forums, you could try searching and see what you find.
This is a game?
I don't know that Flash on Android ever worked with games. It might only work for videos and other non-interactive content (like ads)

Other way around, really.
Firefox, Dolphin, Puffin, and other browsers support Flash, as do many older stock browsers, like the Galaxy S3 and my old Razr Maxx. With these you can watch videos from many websites that haven't moved on to HTML5. And ads too (yay!). But I don't know if Flash based games ever worked on mobile browsers. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. Maybe they did, but don't now.
