I wasn't very impressed with Sony's stock FM app, so I loaded up Spirit FM from a dev here on XDA. It works perfectly with or without root and offers quite a few new options. I'm very pleased overall with how nicely Sony plays with FM. It was a feature I missed dearly on US Samsung devices.
Link to the Spirit FM thread is here. The guy gives pretty awesome support if you ever have any issues. There's a free version with basic tuning functions and a paid version. He works on Spirit full time, so I'd say go ahead and support him, since he's definitely going to support you if you ever have a problem.

So, i cam across this on a tech for old people article of cnet, of all places. but i was looking at it, and i'm curious about it. it looks like it could be a fun thing to tinker with, but is that even possible? It says it runs froyo, can't be too crippled because it has a web browser. Only has "AppsLib" tho, not the market.
Also i can't seem to find it anywhere online >_<
EDIT: wait a sec, has this thing even been released yet?
be honest I was looking at picking one of these up myself. The prospect of running Google music (I did get into that beta) and having access to all my music seems good. Alarm clock functions are also a plus. I imagine it will be root-able and someone will make a g-apps package for it. It has a front facing cam as well so it could possibly run skype, qik, etc. or if 2.3.4+ was installed, Google talk. The Chumby folks also released an android app that emulates a chumby device fully and connects to their services so you could use this as a chumby / Sony dash.
Once you have appslib, just download arctools and ta-dah! Instant LATEST market. As for being rootable, I think any Archos is. The only problem the 35 HC may have is lack of RAM/a slow processor...

Buy the 35hc perhaps as a toy and all is fine. basic email, fring, games. Please don't expect miracles. It's like buying a budget compact camera and expecting dslr quality.

was recently playing with friends sg3.
i found quite a few nice aesthetic differences, which i quite like
fortunately most have been ported to note.
but the main one i was looking for was the fm radio, Especially the widget
Is there any clever dev out there able to port it to the note
Thank you
Has anybody attempted to record live broadcast on this device either using Spirit UL or other 3rd party dedicated method (like stereomix)?
Sony Xperia models can use Recforge app, Samsung have it naturally integrated. I never had HTC before so I can't really compare with other models. Am interested in this phone but can't buy before completely being sure it can record live OTA FM in high enough quality and most important in Stereo!
Would appreciate your help kindly.
Hey guys.
Is there any way to gain Over the Air FM functionality back on the xperia xz?
Xperias cheaper than the xz have it but sony decided to remove an essential feature from a pricier device... And they wonder why they aren't making profits.
They have removed a whole bunch of features from the XZ unfortunately. Not much you can do about a hardware change like that.
Can always listen to the online version or via an app.
Not sure it's removed, just suppressed. I believe all the Qualcomm chips have this functionality built in. I realize this doesn't solve the problem, just adding to the conversation.

With the development being what it is, there isn't really much that can be done about it. Online radio isn't really pocket friendly. Data plans ain't cheap here.
Hey there fellow Polaris users!
As the development is pretty slow or nearly not existent for this device, I wanted to know, if there´s any devs out there that can make a working Android Pie Pixel Experience rom for our device?
I and I guess many others would be willing to donate for the effort. I`m using the Pie GSI for now that works pretty good, but there are some issues that need to be fixed.
bluetooth hands free - no sound from the cars speakers so it´s pretty much useless
Camera - I use the BSG Mod by now and many features are working fine and the picture quality is decent, but there´s no 4k video and no slow motion video. I can live without this for now, but if the device supports it, it would sure be nice if it would work
some more minor flaws that we could work out in the process of making this really happen
Would be really nice to see this happening. The base is already there so maybe this device specific issues can be adressed fairly easy. I´m no dev by the way, otherwise I´d do it myself. But I´m ready to support you in any way possible. Even if its with some money for a pizza and some cold drinks!
All the best

PE rom
Could you tell me how to find PE rom for Polaris,Please!
You can access slowmotion with Manual Camera DSLR app
Just use the PE GSI Rom with latest global dev baserom ? Bluetooth can be fixed if you change the config xml and there are no other bugs ?
