In my option
Tegra 2 > apple A5
8mp camera with 1080p support (welcome to 3-5 months ago. Although the iPhone probably will have the best camera the IMO the iPhone 4 did. It was the fastest camera and produced the best pictures and video)
Support for Att 4g HSPA+ network (welcome to 6+ months ago and tmobiles hspa+ network >>> then att's)
64gb (cool but for $400 with 2year contract no thanks)
IOS 5 ( this will be cool. Although I like Android better I still think iOS is very nice and well developed and now that apple has copied all the advantages Android has I'm sure it will be awesome.... let the Patten law suits continue)
I think I got all the new things in the 4s.

I lol'd so hard at their announcement of the 4S. It is now obvious why Appple sued Samsung for the Galaxy S2. The S2 is more advanced and came out early 2011. Just wait until the Galaxy S3 is released with a 16megpix camera, hd amoled screen, and quadcore cpu.
I definitely do not want a rehashed iPhone4. But really, Tegra2 > A5? A5 destroys it in every benchmark I've seen since the iPad 2 dropped. They're not even in the same league. I love my G2x's build quality, but thats it.... after owning multiple dual core devices (including iPad2) Tegra2 is definitely the bottom of the dual core barrel.

I was keeping up on it too. I lol'd too. These ifans were totally dishing Android devices saying the iFone 5 will destroy any android phone... lmao and then it dropped. I heard the hearts hit their stomachs from my desk chair.
Basically they are releasing what the iPhone 4 should have been last year. Releasing it now is a joke.

Not really. When the iPhone 4 came out it was top of the line. There were no dualcore phone and the phone competing with it also had 1ghz processors (galaxy s evo Droid x Droid incredible etc).
Competing phones also had 5mp cameras with only 720p recording. And the iPhone had the best screen when it launched.

I like android and the Tegra is a lot better then the a5 but I don't think the iPhone 4s needs to be specced high because it goes perfect with the os. Just giving my opinion
I wanna see how the camera is on it. Should be amazing

Just another Apple piece of shart IMHO. I switched from AT&T and Apple when the G2x came out. Best choice I have made in a phone in years. Even with all of the issues at start up I still would NEVER go back to the Apple product.

I think about how much I still like my G2X better.
ONLY thing I 'm jealous about iOS is there battery life... we all wake up around the same time work jobs where we cant charge are phones or be on them much, and we meet up at the bar and my two of my buddies with iPhones have about 75% left where me and my friend (she has a droid X) have around 40% she actually has to charge her phone mid day cause she isn't rooted. My friends are a little jealous of me cause of what I can do with my android device with root and what not... That's the only thing though. Now that the iPhone's iOS 5 is announced and has a lot of android underneath it.... I might be a little jealous of them lol... just being honest here. I don't get how they have such great battery life compared to Android.

Underclocked processors. False multitasking. Software specifically optimized for specific hardware from top to bottom. Unicorn (or Unicron) blood. Absorbing millions of souls of innocent children. Gimping the hardware a bit to make the battery take up a more than significant chunk of the guts of the phone. Seriously, the iPhone 4 battery takes up around 2/3 of the inside space, or at least seemed that way when I opened one up for the fun of it.

ya all agreed with but there phone is still as fast as my g2x overclocked with a dual core processor, at least able to keep up with it so I can't really tell a noticeable difference... except in data speeds holy hell I'd kill myself with what they get on at&t... but in all seriousness I loves my android still. might not get 36+ hours but at least I'm not the rest of the pretentious douches (not all are but most I encounter). The friends that have it of mine only got it cause I told them it is a simple smart phone that is fast and takes good pictures, that's all they needed to hear, lol.

Hence why it is so popular. It is simple and takes good pictures. Most people aren't overclocking or running emulators via HDMI out and Playstation 3 remotes.

well my three close friends with iPhones always have over 70% especially the one with the 3gs after a 10 hour day, by the time we get to the bar they say they aren't charging it at all mid-day. I will have about 40%.
Either 2.3.3 Weapon's 2.5 best I was getting 15 hours with no games but everything else I used pretty heavy on the way to work and back from work, hour commute each way. Right now I'm on MIUI and since 8:30 this morning(its now 7:30pm for me) I'm at 50%, dont know why but I always get great battery life with MIUI just not stable enough for me. Either way I don't want an iPhone at all, haha.

I dont agree with any of that.
The camera comaprison you posted they all looked like crap and not one looked better then the other.
PLUS they didnt even shoot the same subject in each picture. That comparison has no credibility in my option.
I still think the iPhone 4 had the best camera. My Samsung Infuse camera is pretty good. But i think the 4S will be the best camera.
I dont believe the Tegra 2 is slowest. But i couldnt find a lot of info reguarding the newer cores. Only the older cores.
Dosnt really matter though because we will have the iPhone 4S for at LEAST a year. Where Q1 of 2012 the Kal-Ei quad-core chips will be out and Dual Core will be yesterdays news.
In the end though. The Tegra 2. Snap Dragon, Apple A8, and Exynos are MORE then enough CPU/GPU power for todays Smartphones.
Just what the title says. Does the Nexus 5 get hot like the GS3 or Nexus 4 did? I am curious as I have one ordered and would rather know now instead of worrying later on when I get it.

Yeah, my GS3 gets face burning hot just when browsing, so I am curious to see if it will be the same for the Nexus 5 when I get it. I don't usually play games on my phone as I have low vision, I plan on getting the Nexus 10 2013, or whatever they might call it when it comes out.
Mines haven't been hot but I am using a custom kernel and not using the regular kernel thermal
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
It gets warm. But certainly not burning hot like my S4.
Are there any current-model smartphones that don't have noticeable temperature increase when under heavy load?
My N4 got hotter, this gets pretty warm, but not uncomfortable .

I expect heat under heavy load, but just browsing the web or watching a video?
It does get a little warm, but the nexus 4 had a glass back thus the heat. I mean I did tests and more tests . Played two hours of dead trigger 2 and it held up awesome. I mean it did get warm, but what do you expect ... Its running a snap dragon 800 @ 2.3 and a adreno 330. So far for me its preforming amazing.

Coming from the Nexus 4, the Nexus 5, in my experience, definitely runs hotter on LTE.

1. Using and browsing internet more than 1 hour.
2. Charging it more than 3 hours.

4. Playing Games.

Pretty much all phones that I have used get hot when I'm gaming, browsing, taking pictures continuously etc...
What I don't understand is why people make a big fuss about it? It's not like it will melt your skin...
If you're rooted, you can use custom kernels to increase throttling but then people will complain that the phone lags.. Lol.
Temperatures ranging between 45-60 are pretty normal and especially when your living in hot places where the room temperature is 25-30*c
Just use your device and forget about the temperatures!

I'm experiencing pretty much none of that. My N5 only gets hot if I'm doing any CPU intensive gaming. Which I pretty much never do. No issues while browsing or anything else.
To OP. If you're unhappy with your One the N5 is a great phone. Differences to note tho: Sense. If you like it a lot then you will miss it. Speakers. There is no comparison between the speakers on the One and the N5.
Also, the carrier N5's are all 16Gb as far as I know. So be sure that it will be enough storage for you.
I'm incredibly happy with my N5
Um how about 120 degrees while sitting in the car browsing with chrome, for like 20 minutes? My phone has hit a max of 127 degrees.
Get the nexus 5 but not with sprint they suck. I cant wait till The end of may to go get AT&T. But it does get kind of hot sometimes but not so hot you have to put it down lol.
A device with a body made of metal alloys is ALWAYS going to feel warmer during strenuous operation than a device body fabricated out of plastic or composite materials. Mostly, that is a good thing, for both the device internals & battery life. Metal is a better conductor than plastic & also has a lower "R" value. These factors serve to allow the metallic device to better dissipate the energy transferred to heat, away from the device & into the cooler ambient air. While the exterior of the device may be warmer, the interior components are often cooler & they definitely cool down faster when they do heat up than they would in a plastic bodied device.
As to the question itself. The Nexus 5 can & does heat up like any other device & how noticeable it is, depends on how you use the device. Again, you will not notice the heat as much, but the internals of the device will. The Nexus 5 itself is a worthy device, tho I am using mine less & less as I find more to like about my new HTC M8. I am certain that you could probably find the Nexus 5 online for nearly any carrier for free, if not close. While I am a Nexus 5 fan, you just don't get the same quality in the Nexus line that you do with other flagship devices. GPS drift can be horrible on the Nexus 5 & I don't mean just from my experiences. I belong to a large Ingress group, many of whom use the Nexus 5, nearly all of them suffer from horrible GPS drift frequently. The M8 on the other hand, has been rock steady, gives me better AT&T 4G LTE signal & just all around rocks. HTC isn't providing a free, one time, 6 month screen replacement garuntee because the device is haphazardly thrown together partially based on the lowest bidder to mee the specification outlined by Google. Also, just know the the Nexus 5 battery is mediocre at best & without a lot of trial & error (& some help from Flar2's ElementalX) you are lucky to see 3 & 1/2 hours of screen on time. I was able to get it out to 5 & 1/2 hours, but again, it took a lot of tinkering & thankfully there was a solid kernel with good source available to build from.
One last thing. While you will benefit from regular software updates (which HTC has also made a part of their HTC Advantage program, not too mention they took Google's queue & started releasing modular updates in the form of Play Store service update packs) remember that in 6 months or so, the Nexus 6 will be out. At that time, based on Google's revised support schedule, you could potentially stop seeing updates on the Nexus 5 about 6 months after release. Now I don't expect that to happen, however, if the reports are true, it could, since it sounds like Google is wanting to go away from the Nexus program & stick primarily to GPe devices.
I don't think you'll be disappointed with the N5, but it just isn't the same type of quality as the HTC M7 or M8. Plus, now that there are GPE devices for both HTC models, converting to a GPe device that benefits from a Nexus-like update program is a simple thing.
At any rate, just some food for thought. I loved my N5, but I wouldn't buy it again today. At the end of last year, or even in January or February 2014, maybe, but not now. While you cannot go wrong with the QC SnapDragon 800, the Nexus 5 is primarily lower binned chips & the new 801 takes the same performance & enhances battery life. With only an additional 300mah, right out of the box I was getting nearly 6 hours of screen on time from the M8.
Working in a phone shop I have noticed that the demo g flex 2 has a very different screen. There is no graininess, or greyish hue. And battery seems to be so much better. Left the demo video playing on full brightness on for 8 hours before it conked out. And seem to be getting much better benchmarking scores even though it is full of bloat ware.
Sent from my SM-N915FY using XDA Free mobile app
Well i have the Sprint flex 2 and the screen seems just as good as my g3. Idk why this phone is hated so much i love my flex 2 alot better than my nexus 6 i got rid of. Better specs and more software that utilizes the screen is a win in my book. People complain about to much gimmicks or bloat but ain't no way in hell i will ever touch a nexus device again. The nexus 6 has way more issues than this device but people enjoy it. So with that said if you don't like it don't buy it. This phone was not made for everyone, but for the people that it's made for they will find it more than adequate for daily use.
I had a Sprint flex 2. The screen was great. I had no problem at all with over heating. Battery was bad the first day, but after a reset, it was much better. Had some occasional lag, and hot spot wouldn't work. But I read all the bad reports on the forums, and returned it. Now I wish I had it back. I keep checking swappa for a used one at a good price. When I find one, I will be back on it.
It will only become more popular! I'm impressed with its specs (except ram) and considering an unlocked one for my T-Mobile usa.
Also, US Cellular will be getting it 3/26/15: http://www.androidauthority.com/us-cellular-g-flex-2-march-26-596394/
Apparently... there are batches of s%itty phones and batches of good ones. I'm the lucky one with a good one. The software is clearly not fully optimized hence the (in my case) occasional lag.
I think the thermal throttling is set to be too safe, but on the other hand... considering how some phones heat up, it's quite understandable. I wish I could change the throttling settings because mine doesn't heat up AT ALL. I was running Antutu and Geekbench about 7 times back to back. It just got kinda warm. The only time I noticed it getting warm-er was when I did the factory reset and was downloading all (68) apps over 4G with one bar. So I believe it was the radio what contributed to the increased temperature.
Btw, I found that Geekbench is the only benchmark (I tried) that drops score significantly at the third run. With Antutu I found, the drop isn't that significant even after 5 runs back to back.
Edit: Actually, I take that back. Antutu drops about 8000 points (from 53000 to 45000) the third run (64bit mode)
But as with everything and this phone especially, YMMV.

I also have a Demo unit which was supplied by LG and Sprint and I find it runs quite well except that there is no Wi-Fi Calling. Everytime I try to enable wi-fi calling, it goes into Device Self Service and tries to load something then gives a me a network error message to call customer service. Everything else works fine.

I'm really loving this phone. just picked it up a few hours ago and I am noticing some lag. Nothing crazy, just here and there. Maybe it's because I'm restoring my sms messages now.. It's not constant but once in awhile opening an app and clicking search will freeze it... stuff like that
My important test that lots of Samsung phones failed is downloading torrents and trying to do anything else at the same time. My note 4 couldnt play a podcast without stopping every so often when downloading torrents. Note 5 did it like a champ. No issues on the v10 so far.
I thought my phone was gliching when it said my card was 64gb and the internal was 64gb.. I thought i read somewhere that it was 16.. SO samsung stops sd card support and charges another 100 bucks for 64. and LG keeps it and gives me 64 for cheaper than sammy's 32.. awesome.
Really not impressed with the battery so far. Hopefully i can get the spare soon and it wont be such an issue but My note 5 (same size battery) had pretty impressive battery life compared to this.. it's just dropping and dropping.. Max brighness here is less than note 5's and it seems to use more power.. I have an external fast charger coming today so i'll be good anyway but i'm just not impressed at all.
I'm loving the camera... speed, quality, manual controls.. solid stuff. As a vidographer it's blowing my mind. Will this mean I can video live music without the mics crapping out? let's see.
I'm loving the build quality. Rubber is effing perfect! Screw glass and aluminum! It's amazing how it actually sticks to my couch cushion, bed, car seat when i put it down. dont love the slight extra weight and the stainless steel kind of makes it wider than it has to be but after seeing that drop test from android authority where it basically doesnt break from ANY normal drop, I'm ok with that.
Whatsapp is still putting it's heads up notification on the main screen instead of the second screen.... A big pull for me was notifications on the second screen and I use whatsapp a lot... this is kind of a let down though I can't blame LG for this.. Maybe if the phone gains traction whatsapp will update? is there a way to do it that i dont know about? Right now i installed an app to turn off the heads up notification and instead put it in the status bar but theres no way to get it to the second screen...
Maybe it's just me but for some reason apps have trouble once in a while getting a data connection on wifi or 4g.. Just for a few seconds a couple times.. but it is happening.
Hey mate, enjoy your phone
I hope the performance issue will be fixed after the initial day.
But the Whatsapp notification behavior is kinda weird indeed. I would assume otherwise because for example Google+ and Instagram notifications were popping up on the secondary screen on the youtube videos.
Im suprised by the V10s performace its opening and loading alot of apps faster then my Note 5 did and no lag on my end at all so far. Battery life is sub par i agree on that end, but overall i really like the phone so far.
I've only had it for a few hours and have been setting it up. Still haven't swapped Sim cards yet. Someone in another thread confirmed that the smart stay screen on feature was back on the V10 but I sure can't find the setting. Gorgeous phone and screen.

Those questions are probably best answered by you going to check the phone out in store for yourself. No one can really give you the same experience and answer that you'd get on your own
These guys have had the phone less than a day, any opinion on the battery would not be fair.
I'm really hoping for something decent with the battery. I *NEED* juice! Hoping the LG promotional stuff will come quickly (assuming I buy the phone tomorrow AM)
Coming from a Note 2 with a 9300 ZeroLemon battery I have no idea how to deal with battery issues. I hear the battery low sound maybe once a month? It's a totally different experience with an extended battery. I'm hoping I can deal with swapping them out until hopefully *praying* ZeroLemon makes a battery for the V10.
I'm interested in any battery experiences....

And anyone already having the phone, how would you comment on "alt-tab" performance of it?
Is it still as great as G4 i.e. much better than Samsungs?
What I mean is, opening few apps (browser, game, mail etc) and then alt-tabbing/rotating back 5-6 apps one-by-one; will they just pop-up immediately and exactly where you left of rather then refreshing/restarting the app? That was a great performance feature of G4 against much "stronger" S6 and even Note5.

Those questions are probably best answered by you going to check the phone out in store for yourself. No one can really give you the same experience and answer that you'd get on your own

No chance of that. I'll have to get this online. Ta.
The v10 is a little bit taller. Note 5 battery will be better because Amoled is more efficient than IPS.
Currently have a G4 which has a 3000mAh battery with a 5.5 inch screen. V10 has a 3000mAh battery with a 5.7 inch screen. I'm guessing battery life be worse on the V10. Might just go with a Nexus 6P which has a 3450mAh battery with a 5.7 inch screen.
