Is it possible to get visual voicemail working? I found an APK, but nothing shows up. I have the persistent notification.
Thanks

i too would like a solution without being force to use google voice. at the moment the phone doesn't alert me with a light notification or visual notification of any kind. i have to hold 1 to call myself to see if i have any messages :\ i have a business and really need the 2 numbers separate separate (sprint and GV).
I have the same situation. I've asked this question across multiple sites with no suggestions. I'm hoping once Sprint officially releases their M
N5 we'll have some option.

How long are you holding the button on top of the phone to turn off/On?
Mine is responding, but alarmingly slow - Like 5 or 6 seconds. Is this normal?
2nd: Voicemail indicator stays up on the notification bar. I keep checking but NO VM's. Recently i signed up for Google Voice and thought that might be the culprit as it is linked to my cellphone...however, nothing in GV either.
Resetting the phone On/Off does nothing.
Thanks
HelloHelloHello!
Is there anybody out there? just nod if you can hear me, is there anyone home?

Wrong spot to post or what?? a Little help would be great!
It varies how long but yeah that's about normal. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 seconds, sometimes it takes 5 or 6 and sometimes it takes multiple tries for me.
And for your voicemail problem, I'd recommend waiting 5 or 6 seconds after you press 7 to delete a voicemail, because usually mine doesn't register it unless I wait.
Regarding the VM issue, using another phone, call yourself and leave a message. Then call in and delete it. As I recall, this should clean/reset the indicator.

What he said. But if it's the TMO voicemail icon, make sure you go into the phone settings and forward your calls to your standard voicemail, call, delete, then reforward to GV.

Thanks for the help. The thing is that i removed the GV voicemail immediately after signing up for the service...in the settings it reflects that fact. Howevver, i tried the suggestions and calls are still going to GV voicemail. The message indicator is still there and neither GV nor Tmob show any messages.
Hello,
I'd like to do 2 things but am not sure what to do to improve voicemails for me.
1. When I slide down to see that I have a voice mail, if I select it it prompts me for a password. I'd like it to auto enter it. I can dial my voicemail and have it put in pauses and auto enter my password but it would be much more convenient if I could make the notification icon do that for me. Had that problem with the nexus but was too lazy to do anything about it.
2. When the phone rings, if I ignore it, I still get the default sound afterwards - probably to tell me I have a voicemail. Not much point in having it do a default notification immediately after ignoring a phone call so if I could turn that off, that would be great. My nexus didn't have that - seemed like I had more options for sounds for specific events but that could be faulty wiring in my brain.
Thanks
I figured out the default sound - it was changing between my messaging sound and the default sound.
I'd still like to figure a way to avoid the password prompt in my voice mail.
Not sure as I have never used the default voicemail on my Galaxy S3. I use voicemail through Google Voice. It is much better (In My Opinion) than regular voicemail.

my god thank you!
this has been bugging the sh*t outta me
Using google voice will be your best bet. These are the options you can choose to have using it.
1. You can access your vm via normal calls/prompts
2. You can have your voicemail transcribed and emailed to you
3. You can have your voicemail transcribed and texted to you
4. YOu can choose to do none of the above and just get a notification you have a voicemail and go directly to the google voice website and play your voicemail automatically via web browser.
None of the above requires a password.

Thanks - I understand I can do it if I create a voicemail contact and call voicemail. My goal is to slide down notifications and click on the voicemail icon.
Hello all,
I have a Sprint Nexus 5 on v4.4.2, the version that was supposed to fix the persistant voicemail icon. Well, I still have the VM icon even after the update. If I clear the Phone App data the icon will go away for 30 mins to an hour then it will come right back up. Has anyone had any luck with this? I am using the stock VM, not google voice, and I do not wish to use google voice.
Thanks

Supposedly, this update fixed the voicemail but that was a trecherous lie. http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...-to-kot49h-today-but-what-happened-to-kot49e/
Two options at this point in time:
1) Get Cyanogenmod 11 M2 (or nightlies), this will allow you to swipe dismiss the notification. Another option is to take out the /system/app/phone.apk from the CM11 M2 ROM and put it in your stock ROM to get the swipe dismiss.
2) Hold down the VM notification and goto App Info and force close. (dont need to delete data nedjo67)
It will stay at 2 messages at any time. It basically is broken. You can use google voice to get REAL notifications that actually work but it will still show the broken voice mail notification.
Hopefully this will be fixed soon. I complained about this a while ago but Sprint does not think its a priority? Best place to get Sprint to fix it is to go on twitter and tell @sprintcare about your problem. Also make sure you tell @sprintcare that you are on the newest update or they will recommend you upgrade (not an actually solution for us, duh). The more people to harass @sprintcare, the better.
Thanks for the help. I thought it was weird it was stuck at 2 VMs. I will tweet the Sprint team and hold my breath (not).
Thanks again.

I cannot seem to find a rom that doesn't alert me of fictitious voicemails. I have zero messages and get it won't go away. I have tried stopping the phone process and that does clear the notification but only for 30 seconds or so. Its quite annoying. Does anyone on sprint know of or is currently running a rom that doesn't do this?

I'm on sprint and I have not gotten one system alert for voicemails. When I get a voicemail I get a blank text message from a 4 digit number. Is that way on stock and every rom ive tried.

Really? Its been a problem for me since day 1..... Odd that you would have a different voicemail issue. Here's a screenshot. It never goes away.

I've actually never even seen the notification for voicemail on the 3 nexus5s I've used. First was defective second I broke 3rd still the same. Voicemail just sends me a blank text. Can't remember if I've actually even set up my voicemail, It might still be at all defaults with no greeting and just my number. I've read of several people with the same problems so i haven't messed with mine cause i like it how it is.

Greetings everyone, I have a really annoying problem with my OP7 Pro. Lately, there is a notification on the status bar for voicemail. However, the SIM card I'm using in the phone is very basic - it only offers straight calling and SMS. Voicemail is not even a feature that's provided by the mobile company. So, I cannot understand why it suddenly showed up or what I can do to get rid of it. Since I have no access to voicemail, there are obviously no messages that I could check for, nor would I be able to delete any non-existent message.
I've long pressed on the pulldown notification and chose to "turn off" the notifications. Then there will be a message that states "you will not see these notifications anymore". Except, it's not true. About 5 to 10 seconds later, the voicemail notification is already back on the status bar. I've also checked the Phone app and cleared Cache as well as Storage. When I cleared Storage, the voicemail notification did indeed disappear - for about 5 seconds. Then it shows right back up again.
If someone could offer any suggestions how I could get rid of it forever, it would be so helpful.
If it helps, I'm using standard stock Oxygen ROM 10.3.7
Thank you!

Not sure if there is an easier or better way to solve this on the OnePlus 7 Pro, but back when I had a Samsung Note 9 I had a similar issue where it would consistently show a notification for Wifi Calling. I used an app called AutoNotification, which is on the Play Store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autonotification&hl=en_US. This app is from the creator of Tasker, and has been a godsend for me. To actually purchase the app, I think you'll need to install the main app called AutoApps or something. Definitely worth a try! Hope it works for you If you need help setting it up feel free to ask.
