[Q] use stadard keyboard

Does anyone know how to use the standard 2.2 keyboard with the microphone button instead of the TNT keyboard?

I'm running TnT 3389 with rothnic's enhancement pack v.1 and the 99% market fix. I'd love to have either the stock Android keyboard or something like Swype beta. Ideally I'd like to have voice input and some navigation arrows for editing. While I'm wishing, any chance of copy/paste getting enabled?
I downloaded the Anysoft keyboard from the official market but can't seem to select it from settings>language &keyboard. When I try to select it as my input method of choice, I am offered the warning about it saving credit card #'s, I click OK, then it goes back to the settings>language & keyboard menu without the checkbox next to Anysoft being checked.
What am I missing?

Can't use alternate keyboard with stock ROM
The stock stuff does not allow you to use an alternate keyboard. Sigh....
EVERYONE should call the Viewsonic support number and demand that they enable all 2.2 capability and not block things. If they aren't allowed to install Google apps, that is OK, but they should not srop things like alternate keyboards. All settings that are in a stock Android 2.2 should be there.

[Q] Autocorrect Issues

Has anyone noticed that autocorrect functionality only works in the core google apps? I can see suggestions come up, but when I type "teh" instead of "the" it won't automatically correct text in Polaris Office for example - but it works fine in Gmail.
Tried Thumb Keyboard 3.0, 4.0 beta 4, stock Honeycomb, and the stock Asus keyboard and they all seem to have the same issue.
Wanted to see if anyone had some tips for getting this to work of it if is just how Android works...

[Q] Bluetooth keyboard issue not fixed with HC 3.2?

Hi there!
I installed the Hammerhead-ROM (HC 3.2) mainly because the bluetooth keyboard issue (only qwerty-keyboard layout possible) in HC 3.0.1 annoyed me to death. Unfortunately, this issue persists. Despite that everything is switched to german (language, android keyboard, Thumbs Keyboard) there is no way of switching the original motorola bluetooth keyboard to german layout.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

[Q] keyboard with numbers from long press ?

I have Xoom with Team EOS A4 b36, all's good
when I tried Team Rogue A4, it has keyboard where long press on top row returns numbers.
following on a thread here, I've extracted "latinime.apk" from Team Rogue zip archive, and, installed it into my Team EOS Xoom.
when I tried to configure the keyboard in settings, settings would crash; also, I han no keyboard, nothing, in text entry screens. After reboot, original keyboard came back, all's working good
it seems the keyboard I tried installing was overwritten ? with original ?
anyhow, is there a way to get keyboard with 'numbers on long press' in Team EOS Xoom ?

Go to the market and get yourself a new keyboard. I recommend the Hacker's keyboard.

thanks... duh, it does seem like a lot simpler and significantly easier solution...
why didn't I think of it, instead of trying to hack with system applications...

just installed, looks pretty good !

I also found the lack of long press numbers really annoying when I first got my Xoom.
After trying some keyboards, I found myself sticking with Swiftkey Tablet X. It does not only support the long-press number feature, but when using the Thumb-Layout, there is a numeric pad in the center, which I find very useful sometimes. Not to mention the incredible word prediction, but that's OT.

thanks for the recommendation. I also found Perfect Keyboard (that was offered for free (for limited time) to xda members elsewhere here), that also has cursor keys, great for ssh 'up,up,up' (though not sure if the reduced height keys really suit my big fingers..)
anyhow, I'll try your suggestion as well, thanks guys

[APP] Keyboard Layout Switcher

Hi everybody,
I made an application for changing the keyboard layout of the dock if you are root. You need to do it every time you flash a new rom, but with it it's faster.
For people who don't know : When you use the dock keyboard, if the virtual keyboard is not the Asus one, the dock layout is in Qwerty, it's a bit annoying for people who are not English.
Anyway, the app is translated (English/ French).
Please feel free to post comments.
By the way, it is designed to work only with the Transformer. It should work on other Transformer modele (Prime, HD etc...), assuming it is the same files.

There is a bug with Switkey (market version) and Fr layout, Caps lock doesn't work, but with SwiftKey Beta (and obviously next market version) it is fixed.

i downloaded the apk and tried it out on the nightly build of cm9.
i can launch the app, but then the selectable item stays black, so i can not change the lay out... i never got the question for superuser permission, so i guess that is where it somewhere went wrong?

The app don't need the su permission to list language files. The problem is probably in CM9 , i will try it this week-end.

Then i went to the Transformer Settings, and found an "Advanced" menu (just after "Apps"), where you can change the dock's layout.

You use swiftkey aren't you ?
Because it came from the market version of Swiftkey. Switch to the beta or wait for the update.

1. it works but it's not easy to understanding the method of adding dvorak layout.
2. the search button doesn't work after switched to dvorak layout (US).
