Hi there!
I installed the Hammerhead-ROM (HC 3.2) mainly because the bluetooth keyboard issue (only qwerty-keyboard layout possible) in HC 3.0.1 annoyed me to death. Unfortunately, this issue persists. Despite that everything is switched to german (language, android keyboard, Thumbs Keyboard) there is no way of switching the original motorola bluetooth keyboard to german layout.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks a lot!
This should help ...
Have a look:
QWERTZ for Xoom external keyboard
Best regards
Thanks a lot, this did it!
I just wonder, why I didn't find it using forums search?
Anyway, I'm happy now!

Hi,
I have read several old threads about this topic, but in non was a satisfing answer. So I decided to pose the Question more direct.
Under Cyanogen 4.2.2 it makes no difference what so ever what I select as system language the Keyboard is always qwerty and the wordsuggestions "english".
So is there a way to change it, that I don't get, without loading and Market Keyboard.

Well, I had the same problem. I just installed TouchPal which is a free, great default keyboard replacement.

Hi all!
I've been running ICS from the beginning of it's official release, but flashed the US-version instead of the european one.
No problem so far, but I have the wrong dock-keyboard-layout (QWERTY instead of QWERTZ).
Then I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144204
But where can I find the layout for the german/austrian layout? Could anybody please upload it for me (path to the files should be /system/usr/keylayout and
/system/usr/xt9/keylayout; it's mentioned in the other thread)?
Thanks in advance,
LB115
If you are familiar with the QWERTZ layout, simply go to your language and input settings and select the ASUS German QWERTZ layout.
Your keys will be mapped to the new layout, but the pretty little stickers on them will still be for a different version.
I have a US keyboard, but setting it to ASUS English (UK) allows me to get to the £ symbol and the @ and " are reversed from what is physically on the keys, but it is the standard for UK English.
I have also used the ASUS Spanish keyboard settings with the US Keyboard with no issues.
If you are using any other setting (for instance Thumb Keyboard) for when you are undocked, it will revert to the ASUS English (US) layout regardless which version of the keyboard you have.
Thanks, but when using the Transformer without the dock I have the QWERTZ-layout. Only when using the dock I get the QWERTY one. My system language is German, all keyboard settings too, the dock is a german one...
EDIT: ok, it's working now. I only changed the default keyboard (Android keyboard+ instead of Android keyboard). Thanks for your help!
Hi, I've got the same problem, running FROZN 1.0.9 rom. But there is no other keyboard available than the android keyboard. Do I have to insall another one to get the qwertz layout for my dock?
Thanks for replies!
EDIT: Found Android Keyboard+ in this Post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528322&highlight=qwertz , then I did like Lunchbox115 and it's working now
Hi!
Quick question. My goal is to have the system language as english and the language on the keyboard dock as norwegian. Currently im only able to get norwegian layout on my keyboard when my system language is set to norwegian and keyboard is the asus standard one. Id like to use swiftkey. I hope someone has a smart tips for me!

If you have root you can try this.

It worked for me, so I could use Hackers Keyboard and an Swiss-German Keyboard on the Dock Layout.

Try what exactly?
I had the same issue. I want to use English (US) for the system language and Norwegian for the keyboard. I switched to Asus keyboard and set it to Norwegian only, I set the Android keyboard to Norwegian only, and that worked. I'm getting my øæå's while still using US as system language

Thanks for the replys! I did what both of you said and it now works almost perfectly. I have my special keyboards in most cases, ex. like when chatting on gtalk i have them. But when in chrome and replying to this message in the quick reply box I dont have them. I can get them by undocking and using the onscreen keyboard. But not while docked, not on any of the keyboards (stock, asus, swiftkey).
Any tips for this?
Just tried the same scenario in boat browser and it works there, so seems to be a chrome problem. I really prefer chrome, so if anyone could help me out that I'd apprechiate it!
Hi,
recently my One S had received the update to 4.04. After that my keyboard is QWERTZ instead of QWERTY. I tried to change language settings but I have only "English (Swiss) English (Austria) English (Germany) and none of those have QWERTY keyboard. How can I do?
[I have alredy posted this in a wrong section]
Same problem
This problem has affected me also. Apparantly it looks like we must both have a german hardware keyboard in our phones. First option seems to be to root the phone and change the hardware as per this existing link, but hopefully someone can tell us another way to do this without rooting?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852514
I have installed swift keyboard for now which resolves it but I don't like it as much as the built in keyboard. Would be nice to be able to go back to qwerty without rooting phone. Anyone that can help?
Hello,
I got a terrible problem with the dock, and I don't know how can I fix it, so I hope somebody here may help-me:
First, I have to say that I'm Brazilian, so in my language I need some accents like this: ´ ˆ ˜ ˋ
But I cannot use this with a letter.
Looks what's happening for an example: ˜a ´e ˆo ˋa
The accents come before the letters and don't with them.
I don't know why it's happening, 'cause before it was not thus.
A take the tablet a beautiful day and "than" it was thus.
Please, I hope somebody here could help-me with this problem.
Thanks so lot. Stay with God.
PS: sorry by my english, I don't know speak english well.
Known issue since .18. Wasn't fixed in the .20 update. Doesn't work proerly for anyone.

So, I have to wait Asus do something right?
Sadly so It bothers me as well, as I type in German on occasion.
Can you send a message for Asus?
I cannot do it from here.
Here, Asus also there is not
Thanks
Do you have a Brazilian dock?
I have a German dock, and if I set the software keyboard setting to "Asus keyboard", the hardware keyboard works as intended - I get the german umlauts (äöüß), and the dead keys for accents (áàâ...) work as intended. CleanROM 2.3, based on stock 10.4.4.18.
