About three times now my phone has lost all sound including even phone calls or YouTube videos. Rebooting resolves it for an hour or so. Anyone else see this?

Both times, I go to bed and everything is working fine. I wake up in the morning and my phone loses audio. When I hit the volume buttons it shows the media volume instead of ringtone like something is playing but there's no sound. Playing music or anything doesn't have any audio. Only solution is to reboot the phone and it works again.
Very strange because both times it happened overnight while plugged in and charging. Otherwise the phone works perfectly fine so it's something screwing with the audio only.
Anybody else have this? This time it happened in the morning my phone had been up for 10 days so not sure if it's a memory leak or issue related to long uptime.

I've seen it as well, but not necessarily related to charging overnight. For me it seems related to using headphones. I think the muting doesn't always get unset when headphones are removed. The last time this happened I put headphones back in, which worked fine, and then the speaker worked once I removed the headphones. Rebooting also fixes it.
It's happened several times, so definitely seems like a bug. But it's intermittent so hard to pin down.
Happend To Me As Well
This has been the case with my phone as well. BUT I DON'T use headphones and it was NOT charging at the time. It just did it, all it took was a reboot to reset it. But it is annoying, along with the random resets/power-off and the Restart=power off bugs...
A known problem. I just reload Sense and it fixes.

How do you reload Sense?
Happened to me once. Rebooted to make it work.
doesn't happen to me after the OTA (1.35) but it's a known problem, if you're 1.35 and above then I suggest looking for incompatible apps, cause it should've been fixed with the 1.35 ota
This happened/happens to me after I quit the iheartradio app, both on 2.3.3 and 2.3.4. A reboot kicks the volume back to system volume.
I rooted my Inspire last week. Since rooting, voice calls have not been working. For any call I make, I will randomly get a few seconds of silence, a few seconds of very quiet sound, and a few seconds of clarity (the kind of call quality I got before rooting). Each of these "phases" will last anywhere from 3-10 seconds, and not in any order. Sometimes calls will start clear, sometimes quiet, sometimes silent.
I have tested on multiple roms including Redemption, Melchizedek, Android Revolution, and Absolution. Same problem on each. I always do clean installs from full wipes, don't use tibu and haven't installed any apps. Please any advice is appreciated- my phone is unusable until this is fixed.

(DO NOT RENAME)
Here is the stock rooted gingerbread rom and radio for the inspire. Just place in root of sd card power phone up with volume down and power button at same time (hboot). Will ask if you want to install volume up for yes and let it do its thing then reboot. See if your issue persist with stock rooted rom.
IF IT DOES:
You may want to unroot your phone with the ace hack kit and see if the issue persist, If it does then its a hardware issue and you can replace with warranty (if you still have one). Being the issue is happening with several roms most likely its not the rom.

Does your voice continue transmitting when you are talking, ie does the other person hear you cut out or is it just the audio you get from the call. Test by using a headset with the phone or enabling speaker phone. Almost is sounding like a bad internal connection to the handset speaker, but i dunno without holding it.
A different loudspeaker issue?
Hi,
I seem to have a different loudspeaker problem from most people:
Initially it worked correctly.
But now it basically never works for more than a few seconds. I start playing a song, and sometimes I hear absolutely nothing. Sometimes I hear the song for a split second. Sometimes I hear it for a few seconds. But then the speaker invariably goes silent and stays that way.
This applies to different music and video apps, inlcuding Play Music. It also applies to the alarm clock and third party alarm apps (Ovo).
Reboot does not fix it. Simply waiting sometimes does. But never for long.
-----
I suspect this is a hardware issue. But of course I am not 100% sure, and would like to avoid sending in my device, if it is not absolutely necessary.
Has anyone else had this problem? Google did not help me find anything.
Are there any tests I can run to exclude a software issue? I would like to avoid resetting my device to factory state for nothing.
Do you have any advice what I should do?
Thanks a lot!
I have been having some audio problems with my S7. I recorded a short video to demonstrate the problem. Please see the following video and description and help me out. Thank you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifakwpE5duc
This video is to to show the audio problem I have with my S7. As you can see and hear, in this 2 minutes there are several times where the audio gets distorted and drags a little. This happens during music, video, audio, youtube and all the other media playback. It happens both through speakers and headphone. This happens whether when the screen is off or in use. I tried safe mode and factory reset but the problem didn't go away.
This device was bought 2 weeks ago, brand new.
The following timestamps indicate when the problem occurs
0:07

Have you tried booting to recovery and clearing the cache?
Bit drastic, but if no other solution, factory reset?
Checked for any apps that are using high CPU that could be causing a problem?
Is the phone up to date?
many thing can be cause this probleme
1- music files format
2- ram is busy
3- cpu too
4- system
you need to restart or clearing the cache or another music app !!
Edited to add that I have worked out what the notificaiton is that is making this sound. It's under software and it flashes up with "detecting" and I hear the sound every time. Does anyone know what this issue is?
I have had my phone for around 4 weeks and it was working fine until yesterday when it starting making a random notification sound on and off all day. It was happening when I had the phone in my hand and when I had the phone on the table next to me. One thing I have noticed is that it only does it when the screen is not locked. Sometimes it did it 10 times in a row other times only once and then not again for an hour. Oppo Support tried all the troubleshooting and nothing worked. We have turned all notifications off and the sound it is making isn't a sound that I have saved for any sort of notification - it is the sound an iphone makes when a charger is disconnected. The next step is for me to do a full factory re-set which I am very reluctant to do - I found transferring my data to this phone extremely slow/frustrating. Does anyone know why this would be happening?
