Hey people,
I have a lot of friends who are iPhone users and send group messages. Is there anyway in 4.4 to leave the conversations and stop receiving everyone's texts? I want to interact solely with the person who sent the text, not everyone who has been included.

but your not "in" anything, your simply recieving text messages from a group, i doubt you could control that just from a logic standpoint since other people are actively sending to all of you.
I could be wrong however.

I can send individual texts, but group mms with iPhones is not working for. Me as of now.
When a person includes you in a group text on an iPhone, there does not seem to be a way to stop receiving everyone's replies. It's like receiving a "reply all" message from way too many people.

Hi,
I've been using HeyWire for free international texting and now they suddenly withdrew the int'l coverage. Am wondering if there's an alternative out there?
Regards,
Nibras.
Yeah I installed it about 10 minutes ago and there's no international sms, they really should edit their description.

Yup and a lot of people seem to be disappointed. They might bring it back if a large user base objects it. Btw, did you find an alternative?
Try What's App. It's got a funny name, but it works.

What's App has no SMS support, right? It's an IM platform, isn't it? Something like Kik messenger or Blackberry messenger.
I was looking for a group texting app similar to the sidekick 4g, where it connect the group of people you send a text to, but then when one person replies, all the group gets it aswell. ( chat room style texting I guess lol) thanks everyone I've been searching but no luck, also I'm not rooted,

Any one? Thanks for all the help
My iPhone and Blackberry friends can group sms/mms in chat room format. Meaning when they text the group everyone receives it and when someone replies everyone in the group also sees it. For me, I get the messages individually and can only send them individually. I can group text them in a separate thread but they only see it as a individual message.
Any ideas?
Android does not have this function. There "may" be an app for it but I have never looked. I have seen the question asked plenty of times tho.

Try KakaoTalk from android market. Very popular. Only thing is that everyone has to have the app in order to send or receive.

when is Android going to battle iMessage as much as we can debate the need for it or not its a nifty add on. The idea of free mms over wifi is ideal for a lot of people. Please don't list a bunch of 3rd party apps.

we already have gtalk, which in my opinion is better because not only can we talk with anyone who owns an android phone, but also with people on their gmail and g+. I do agree with you that it would be nice to have gchat integrated into the normal messaging app though
Would be cool to have imessage for android we need iMessage Chat to come to android strictly from Apple
Speak Text is a unique app because unlike all of the other sms text speakers this app will only read the message aloud when given a voice command (ex. "Read Message"). If no voice command is given then the text will not be read. The voice command is customizable to be whatever you want as well as toggling the service on/off.
Update: Speak Text now has a setting to always read the sms texts aloud without a command.
I wrote this app because my 8 month pregnant wife kept texting me while I was napping in the pool. Normally the texts would be ignored but being pregnant and all you just never know. So now when I get a text and I'm in the pool I just say "Read Message" and the text is read. I wanted a command to be given (hands free) so that my personal texts aren't read aloud. As far as I know this concept has not been done.

Works well on my note 2 running slim rom. Would be awesome if it could dictate a response and send it.
