I have been searching (the forums, the google, and more) for the SGH-I727R_RWC_I727RUXKJ7_I727RRWCKJ7_I727RUXKJ7 stock Rogers ROM.
I want to have a fail-safe in the event of a soft-brick, and it looks like all previous uploads and other freely accessible methods of obtaining this ROM have turned into dead or deleted links. RapidShare, Hotfile, and MegaUpload (obviously) have all ceased to host this ROM.
Letitbit, a Russian filehost, seems to be the only place still hosting it, and each time I attempt to download it from them the archive gets corrupted at a different point during the download(thanks CRC Check).
I really want try out some of these ICS ROMS, but I'd like to be able to return to stock if everything goes wrong, or I don't like it.
Does anyone out there have the SGH-I727R_RWC_I727RUXKJ7_I727RRWCKJ7_I727RUXKJ7 ROM, and are willing to upload it?
Much Thanks.

Thanks. I checked that site out earlier, and somehow go the impression they were OEM technician resource, or pay-to-use membership site.
I don't know why I didn't bother to poke around a bit more, thanks again for the heads up. I'm downloading the ROM now.
Anyone wanna mirror that via dropbox for a couple hours so i can download it? I'm too lazy to sign up just for a tar lol
Isn't there a stock I727R tar. In the dev section? Under the how to tar Odin return to stock thread. I think the one that doesn't trigger the flash counter is 10-20 pages in.
Sent from my SGH-I727R using XDA
can you be more specific? i cant seem to find a 'dev' section or even 'development'
I was in the same boat a while ago. Grabbed the one off of Sammobile. Tested it out but that was the only time I have used it.
Make sure you do a nandroid backup before and you only use i727 roms and you will be fine.

I have the Skyrocket (of course) and recently downloaded ICS OTA, or some sort of update. The phone rebooted as normal, but gave me the Clock Work Mod screen. I rebooted the phone from there and got a nice error message on my home screen saying the update was interrupted. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First!
Read around. Answers are everywhere!

Maybe im wrong but to do an update like that dont you have to be on stock recovery not cwm. I know some of the experts will chime in. FYI make sure you put things like this in Q&A for future ref.
I'm not sure if it was ICS or not. But I simply clicked on "Check for updates" under device management and I have one. The phone downloads the update but when it restarts I get the CWM Recovery screen. I'm new to Clock Work, but I went ahead and restored my phone to a previous setting through Rom Manager and tried again. Same thing. Do I need to disable CWM?
This is why I made this thread

First thing you need to specify, are you with rogers? Which phone do you have exactly?
flash the recovery file from sammobile through odin. Which also has ICS tar for the Rogers equivalent. Download the file, flash through odin. There is an All in one guide for noobs near the top of the general forum with layed out instructions, just find the post you need on the front page and follow those instructions. It should be listed under returning to stock or unrooting.
i would download the ICS tar from sammobile and use the method in the guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348
That will show you how to get back to stock. that is the first sticky in the dev section.
Edit: oh beat me to it i type too slow lol.
As this is a question it belongs in Q&A. To OP your questions should should have answers in the stickies and the many Upgrade related thread elsewhere. But since the community pitched in I will just placce in Q&A.
Cheers

Yes. Same method ever since we got ICS beta. install CWM recovery. boot into it. flash superuser zip. You need to try installing it 2-4 times on top of itself until it says it is successful.

I considered rooting my gf's stock ICS but didn't want to have to manually update her phone so CWM appeared to be problematic; she likes to be able to update it the normal way. Is this unfeasible?

Well, chances are we won't be getting any more updates and if we do get jb from att it will be a ways down the road. So, you may not have the chance to update anymore if u remain stock (UNrooted that is). Cwm is actually quite simple to use once u start using it.

you can flash cwm and when you want stock you can flash back to stock firmwares and receive "future" updates, but you can always flash stock with odin as odin doesnt care if you are rooted or not, any future updates well it seems sammobile posts stock firmwares on their site .
in my sig theres a link on how to odin stock
www <dot> androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-skyrocket-att-sgh-i727-android-4-0-3-root-72082/
(Except I had to use a different Recovery program, since for some reason, some of them won't mount /sdcard/ on my phone. Also, be sure to hit it 2-4 times like Lucidmike said.)
I have a rooted skyrocket, with touch clockworkmod, and i was wondering. If i were to flash a rom onto my skyrocket, and i decided to return to stock, can i still flash it using cwm or must i use odin? I saw a thread earlier informing to use odin to get back to stock, but im just making sure its ok that i use cwm instead thanks. Sorry again, im a noob
Cwm will stay on your phone. Just use a rom thats rooted. (If it doesnt say its not then it surely is) all will be well.

U can use rom manager but problems are much more likely. I recommend doing any cwm activities from within cwm itself. I flashed for the first time 1 month ago and I fully understand where u are coming from. It may look intimidating but once u start it is quite simple

I'm coming from att's SG3 and I know the Verizon version is different. My confusion is in the guide. The first section uses Odin to flash 4.1 Jelly Bean and section 2 uses the debug to flash ICS. I want to flash cleanrom, so does it matter if I use Odin for 4.1 or the debug to root my stock 4.0 rom?

Yep just follow section 2...that section is for folks on stock ICS.
Section 1 is for folks who feel the need to odin back to stock, but want to upgrade to jellybean in the process. I suggest if you ever want to upgrade to jellybean download a recovery flashable version and flash in cwm after completing section 2. This way you will never trip the flash counter(not that its a big issue as you will just have to download the app triangle away to reset it).
*I plan on revising the guide to make things a bit more clear on which root method to use. Im just waiting for the OTA to drop before making any major changes.
Cool! And you mean a recovery flash version as in cleanrom?
