[ROM]Stock odexed Android 4.2.2 Sense 5 - k2ul 3.11.401.1 & k2u 3.11.401.106 - HTC One SV

Here is some candy for you guys
HTC ONE SV - Android 4.2.2 Sense 5 Rom for flashing in recovery.
I made k2u version from my backup/dump and k2ul version is made of a System Dump from russian k2ul (thanks to radarga for the dump).
I recommed TWRP recovery for flashing.
No root or Superuser inside!
This is a test version, time was to short to test everything, but it boots also on k2u and Wifi/Mobile data is working for me.
Download:
k2ul - LTE
k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v3.zip
mirror (dev-host):
k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v3.zip
k2u - Non LTE
k2u_4.2.2_3.11.401.106_stock_odexed_v1.zip
or mirror
k2u_4.2.2_3.11.401.106_stock_odexed_v1.zip
Deodexed Non-LTE version by coloured_chalk
k2u_4.2.2_3.11.401.106_DEODEXED
Installation:
Make backup and full wipe in recovery.
S-off, flash in recovery.
S-on, do the same. And unzip the boot.img from the k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v2.zip and flash with fastboot.
Don't forget to flash Superuser file (look into my index thread) if you want root!
Bugs:
- noisy sound in calls (without firmware files)
Thanks:
- to HTC for the update
- to radarga for the dump
- to bkcokota for fixing bluetooth
- to jmz for hosting
- to Seanie280672 for cwm backup
- to coloured_chalk for deodexed k2u version
Have fun.

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

This is a pure stock, right? That means nothing is modified or customized and everything is originally from htc?

I love you, man *_*
EDIT: ok, now I really can't wait for OTA to come! it's lovely!

Nothing modified. Only busybox files are added from radarga as i have seen now.
Notice: i can not guarantee that everything works like it should.
But it looks very promising

after update: I cannot hear the call - the speakers has problem - it's too noisy
my ussd code is Chinese
i hate Chinese, how to fix it ?
from my k2_ul

I seem to be having an issue with the phone crashing when I turn on bluetooth, can anyone replicate this issue or is it just me with it?

To those who have problems: I believe you guys should wait for the OTA to come. Maybe there are too many different types of the k2ul so you need the right update for exactly your k2ul type/serial number or something.

Yes, thats right.
This is only for play around, until the update is here for all!
You guys must notice, that the firmware files from OTA are missing in this rom.
There is no new hboot, but new radio.img and other img files i don't know.

Do you have a copy of the updated firmware folder that we can play around with too?
EDIT: nevermind, I found the system dump on 4pda, let's see what we can do to get things going here.

Ok, to everyone who is using this ROM and having issues like me (which I'm assuming is probably everyone). I've figured out why bluetooth wasn't working, system/etc/dbus.conf is missing from the zip, it's not splatterhands fault as it was missing from the system dump too, as such, if you want to get it working, copy dbus.conf into your system/etc folder and reboot.
old.splatterhand, can you please patch your zip file to include this file also?

Will do, when i'm back from work. Or i upload a new version of the rom with the file.
For your previous post:
Download the OTA update and extract firmware.zip. Boot.img is also from it.
You'll find link in my index thread.
Thanks @ckpv5 for posting the HTC server link!

Works fine with Bluetooth @ K2_U (non LTE)

On k2_ul optus aus
Speakers is too noisy and bluetooth is not working

Flashed, works like a charm. Also I have flashed the radio.img, boot.img from firmware.zip and attached the patch for bluetooth. Dunno where to flash the rest of the firmware files, so I'm not trying with those. For SuperSU I have followed the instructions given by TWRP 2.6.3.0. He showed me to install supersu, then after reboot in menu I clicked SuperSU Installer and clicked TWRP, which has downloaded the supersu files. Then the installer has rebooted the phone, finished the installation in TWRP automatically and rebooted again. And I had at the end the rooted Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5.0.

Get the firmware.zip from the OTA package and replace /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 on your phone with the radio.img from the firmware.zip (this is assuming you have a k2_ul) all you need to do is rename the radio.img to mmcblk0p16 and it will be correct.
Is the network usage app crashing for anyone else too? I'm trying to see if anything else is having problems and that seems to be about the only one.

i've restored to saturn III and waiting for @old.splatterhand 's custom rom on android 4.2.2

This will not come so fast and it will not solve missing firmware files.
I have uploaded v2 with dbus.conf inside, so bluetooth should work now.
Those who didn't added the file manually can download the new version.
And no, i didn't fix the noisy call sound.

So sad...
But...update radio can fix chinese ussd code ?

[UPDATED] [32A] Link to the official Rogers 2.1 Magic Update - OTA, RUU and img files

Hey!
The link to the FOTA file is
http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Sapphire_...3.05.631.7_release_signedu2j8pjou0wsg6p6q.zip
Multiupload link http://www.multiupload.com/VLR1WRILII
You can get the RUU at http://www.multiupload.com/MG55E61MH1
And system, radio, boot and data img files (to flash from fastboot without getting a perfected SPL) are at http://dlf.transfer.ro/ruu_2.1-transfer_RO-08sep-5f012a.rar
I've checked out the update-script and the contents of the zip and...
1. It flashes a new radio - 6.35.16.19.
2. As klothius said, it needs the official 1.5 SenseUI Rogers update and the stock recovery that came with it - otherwise the MD5 verification will fail and the update will halt.
3. New kernel and new recovery. If you have an engineering SPL you can flash your favorite recovery right back after the update.
I'll probably add to this as I find out more
Can i flash this through recovery or is it a RUU? and if i can flash, i need Hero recovery new radio and spl on my 32a (also if it isn't by rogers)?
Just root it with universalandroot!
This rocks! Finally!!
@MARCO310791: I can't say, I haven't tried it yet. It looks like a stock update zip, like the ones you flash in recovery, so it might work. It works by patching the files in the official Rogers release, so it might not work on other ROMs without modification.
From what I've seen in the update-script, it doesn't touch the data partition (except a few of the files that the 1.5 update created there).
WARNING! It installs a new radio - 6.35.16.19.
Does it install new spl?
Nope, SPL is untouched.
It does, however, flash a new recovery, which means you'll need to flash a modded recovery from fastboot when it's done.
Well if that's true, we'll have root even after flashing this...although you must have a rogers rom already installed and you must have a rogers htc original stock recovery installed too.
working on it as we speak
Can anyone download the RUU? It's linked from http://www.htc.com/ca/support/h/magic-update, but it looks like the link is wrong - it just redirects to the support homepage
works fine by me

For 3.33.401.153 zip was built from Football's RUU. Namit1994 tools should work also.

If you don't mind my asking, how did you apply the OTA files to the previous 3.33.401.6 base? I wanted to do it myself, but I'm not really sure how it's done.

Ideal way to flash is download pure stock odexed 3.33.401.6 then flash then flash the OTA file (you can find the fotadl.htc.com link posted by me somewhere in the dev section - page 2 I think) then just flash that through recovery.
If that doesnt work run the 3.33.401.6 RUU, extract rom.zip from it, open the rom.zip file up, delete everything in it except boot.img and system.img then rename the zip to PG58IMG.zip and flash through hboot, then flash the OTA.zip file through recovery

Thanks Jonny, the reply is much appreciated.
Though I was really wondering how OP applied the files within the OTA zip to the older base to make a flashable 3.33.401.53 ROM zip. Like did he open up a completely stock odexed 3.33.401.6 ROM zip and just place the OTA files in their appropriate folders? What to do with the stuff in the "patch" folder? I dabble in cooking ROMs for fun, so I was just looking to rebase a new ROM for my wife and myself. I'll end up using OP's zip as a base now, but I was just wondering how he made it.
/edit
I just looked in the updater script for that OTA zip and now I'm even more confused as to how to apply these patches/files manually to make a new flashable base. It's definitely not a simple copy/paste into zip. :silly:

Yeah what you have to do is flash the base (3.33.401.6) then OTA on top of it (3.33.401.53) then using a file explorer (root explorer or similar) copy the entire /system partition to microsd card then transfer that to pc, add own updater-script and just build into a zip file, thats called creating a "System Dump"
Ahhh so simple, I can't believe I didn't think of doing that even though I've been ripping up ROM zips for a few months now.
And now I know what the term "system dump" means. All of those old posts of people posting leaked ICS system dumps back in the day suddenly make sense.
Again, thanks for the education Jonny. I've been enlightened.
i noticed in this update that ringtones do not reset after you restart your phone

OP updated with the latest OTA 3.33.401.55
Some binaries were updated, but I've noticed that this time the radio image is different, so it should be a new radio (haven't tested myself yet). So probably to get all the benefits of this latest update it would be good to update the radio also. For that ask on the firmware thread or the Radio/RIL's thread to update the radio with the one included in this OTA. Otherwise you can update the radio.img yourself by using a PG58IMG zip
Merry Christmas to all!!

[Q] Unable to delete Kobo (system app)

hi!
I have a HTC One S (from Virgin Canada), rooted. I used Titanium Backup to delete some bloatware but I am unable to delete Kobo. I tried to remove it with TB, everything seems ok but after I restart my device, it's here again (like frozen: can't see it but it does appear in TB listing).
1. I'm wondering : is there other locations other than /system/app where apps can have files? I mean, if I delete all the files related to this app (/system/app + ??) it should be gone for real, right?
2nd question: if I remove system apps, is it normal that I still see them on my computer in Google Play/My Android Apps?
3rd: is it safe to remove Google apps (Books, Music, Google+, etc.)?
Thanks!
update: actually 99% of the apps I deleted with Titanium Backup are back! any idea?

yes, sorry I forgot to mention Android version: JB 4.1.1
I saw another thread where the guy had the same problem as me (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780624), but it was on GB, and the folders mentioned don't exist in my phone.
just tried something else: I moved some apps (.apk + .odex files) from /system/app to /data/app
Then I rebooted, and both files for each app are back in /system/app
Am I missing something?
Also my wallpaper comes back to default at every restart, but I don't think the 2 issues are related (just giving max information)

You need a kernel with r/w support enabled

Hi, are you using a custom ROM or the stock ROM? The apps reappearing issue is on the stock ROM and happens on the 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM because HTC in their infinite wisdom (lmao who did I copy) introduced a write-protect feature in the Jelly Bean kernel. So installing stuff will work, but only in recovery when the kernel isn't active. I assume this is how you installed Superuser - through recovery. To overcome this issue you can flash a custom ROM like ViperOneS or if you don't want a custom ROM you can flash a zip in recovery which I will provide the link to shortly

Same problem.
thanks to both of you, you found my problem... my godness, playing with Android is so tricky!
So, to solve my problem (bloatware removal) either I use the link usaff22 provided (not sure how to deal with "Be sure to have /system mounted before applying the patch (in TWRP it's already the case)" since I have CWM Recovery...), or I can find HTC One S RUU (I found Europe version, is there a North America version?) and flash my device to get a bloatware-free JB stock ROM (with SuperCID first since my CID is BM__001).:silly:
Or I can flash a custom ROM. But I think I'd rather stay with the official ROM.
... but if I flash RUU then I'll have the same problem later (no r/w kernel). OK, so here is what I'm planning to do, tell me if I'm wrong:
1. get Super-CID to change from "BM__001" to "HTC__001"
2. lock bootloader
3. flash HTC One S JB RUU 3.16.4.01.8 (can you tell me if Europe version is OK or if I should find North American version?) => this will unroot my phone and delete CWM Recovery
4. unlock bootloader
5. install TWRP Recovery
6. root my phone
7. apply Easy_InitD patch to get r/w kernel
8. make a precious nandroid backup of my phone!
will it work? am I missing something? can you please tell me about the "Europe" version of JB RUU?
once again, thank you.

Europe version should work fine. But there's a quicker way:
1. Change CID from BM___001 to HTC__001.
2. Flash HTC One S JB RUU 3.16.401.8 WWE Europe/Unbranded
3. Flash TWRP Recovery in fastboot.
4. Flash Superuser zip in recovery to gain root.
5. Flash Easy_InitD patch to get r/w kernel.
6. Make Nandroid backup.
You don't need to lock/relock bootloader. You should be able to do it anyway. (Unless someone can correct me otherwise)

actually I skipped the SuperCID/RUU flashing steps but I guess that's ok:
1. flash TWRP from GooManager app
2. flash Easy_InitD patch
3. removed bloatware with Titanium Backup
4. restarted: all gone... but Kobo!
5. deleted Kobo files (2) in /system/app with Super Manager
6. restarted: gone!
7. re-restarted: no bloatware back! :laugh::laugh::laugh:
8. checked in applications installed: some bloatware appeared (not all, not Kobo)
9. just uninstalled them
10. restarted: gone, everywhere
Now I can change my signature :victory:
Animated wallpaper still disappears after restart, but that's not very important.
one more question if there's still someone here: bloatware still appears in Google Play website in "My Android Apps".
Is there a way to remove them? Not a big deal, I'm just wondering if I can get rid of them completely.

Work for Cid :BSTAR301
Doesn't flash in TWRP because of simple reason:
CID check is not removed from updater script, that's first thing to do if you want to make OTA flashable.
how remove CID check
Any hope for Latin America CID: BSTAR301? HBOOT: 2.09
Does hboot 2.11 work?

Hi all.
My daughter have a HTC One S S3 with ICS. We leave in Switzerland and no OTA appears in the phone until now.
The phone is damaged in the SIM card slot, so my daughter use it for games, music, chat, etc...
It's possible that I didin't receive OTA because no SIM?
Can I update manualy?
The phone is not rooted: she don't want to loose all making dev think.
Thanks for help.
When I try to flash this through TWRP, I get to "creating fota tool" (something like that) and then TWRP restarts. When I try to reboot my phone, I'm just greeted with the boot animation and then a black, unresponsive screen.
Additional info:
I downloaded the OTA update through the update software menu on my phone.
I've removed the CID check from the updater-script myself (pretty sure I edited, zipped and resigned correctly).
If I try to install the update through the update manager on my phone, it boots into TWRP and I get an error: "Can't mound INTERNALSDCARD:<OTA_Updateblahblahblah.zip>"
Any ideas?

if you have update from software update menu,
just make a full twrp backup, then install stock recovery, relock bootloader, boot phone into system, search for updates, ones it is downloaded, press installa nd it will be installed automatically.
Once its installed you can again unlock bootloader and install twrp for installing custom roms.

[RUU] [OTA] T-Mobile US Android 4.3 OTA (3.24.531.3) w/ Nandroid, Firmware & Radio

[RUU] [OTA] T-Mobile US Android 4.3 OTA (3.24.531.3) w/ Nandroid, Firmware & Radio
T-Mobile USA OTA to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
Build: 3.24.531.3
Android 4.3, Sense 5.0
* includes Wi-Fi Calling
This is the actual OTA Zip file that is downloaded and then flashed during the update process. I saw that T-Mobile's instructions tell users they must check through their phone, and are not providing a download link.
I extracted it off of my phone's SD Card before I updated, so it is untouched, it comes as T-Mobile distributed it.

I am sharing this so everyone can have access to the official OTA. What you do with it from here is not my responsibility, nor do I care. Enjoy. I am not claiming ownership, nor am I claiming this will be much help by itself.
Update 10/23
The community has spoken, and this has brought a lot of stock options for the end user. As of 10/23 (today), we now have the OTA, a full Nandroid TWRP backup, two versions of the firmware, the radio only and now the RUU itself. The OP has been fully updated with links and credits to everything. Thank you to the Android community, this thread is a pretty great example of open source and people coming together with end products. Thanks for all the help here as well.

So after hours of searching through the forums, I just wanted to clarify a couple of questions.
I have S-Off and unlocked bootloader but Stock Rom - NOT rooted and stock recovery. I also have the original MID/CID - 0713000 / T-MOB010.
I can still get the latest OTA - 3.24.531.3? The only requirement for the OTA is CID/ MID, stock recovery and stock ROM, correct?
Also, If I go ahead update it, My HBOOT will be updated to 1.54 and Bootloader will be locked but I still will retain s-OFF, correct?
And the only way in future to flash a custom ROM is via, htcdev bootloader unlock?
Thank You!!

I am pretty sure you need to relock the bootloader, and have stock recovery. AFAIK those are the requirements. HBOOT may be 1.55 as that is the latest but you SHOULD still keep s-off. But i make no promises. lol But yes, you will have to go to HTCDEV and get your unlock key again if you wantt o flash another rom (its a really easy process though)

Anyways to get a nandroid or to pull /system on an installed update.
I'm currently on a custom 4.2.2 ROM with Firmware 2.24.401.1, HBOOT 1.54, S-OFF, Super CID, and TWRP 2.6 bootloader on T-Mobile HTC One.
What is the process to upgrade to this OTA? Or is there a better to go to latest base, firmware, etc.?

I was on a rooted stock TMo ROM in order to get the update. However, i kept my Bootloader unlocked S-OFF, and I was rooted. Only thing really required is the stock odexed 4.1.2 ROM and the Stoxk boot and Recovery. SOFF doesnt matter, for me it didnt.
I was on Viper 4.2.2. I restored a nandroid of my stock 4.1.2 rooted, and all I then did was flash TMO stock recovery in fastboot.

The OTA doesn't help developers, they need the patched APK's after the OTA is installed.

I was answering someone's question about if they need the bootloader relocked or not.
As far as the devs go, now they've got the OTA and can do whatever they or anyone else wants with it. Its not really a crime to share.

Thanks for the upload. Question, to flash this, its just like flashing a firmware update, with the silver HTC on the screen? Pushed through ADB?

1. Restore nandroid backup for stock 4.1.2
2. Make sure boot.img and recovery.img are from stock T-Mobile.
3. Get OTA
OR
Download and install the stock T-Mobile ODEX ROM. Flash the ROM, doesnt matter if its rooted or not. Make sure it has stock recovery and boot images. And you can get OTA.

Said by a developer
"ota is just a patch, patches the existing files, with new code, there isn't a whole apk there. is useless unless you have a phone to apply patch on and then pull system"
that's why I was asking. No ROM can include stuff like Wi-Fi calling without the patched APK's.
i noticed this is a higher build number compared to the att 4.3 version

Once again, i completely get this and for someone who wants to provide a full system dump would be great. But im not wiping yet, so i cant do that. Also, the OTA file contains an encrypted firmware.zip file which is completely independent of the patched apks. That's why Mikey posted the Radio. This is the whole reason I gave it to the community.
Anyway, im done. Im not trying to argue about some stupid OTA. If you don't want it, then don't download it.

So, I noticed a problem on 4.3 when trying to boot a recovery in fastboot. According to the following thread, Android 4.3 bootloader has changed the function of this fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery_twrp.img
Reference URL of same solved issue on N4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380675
Now, we have to retrigger the command somehow inputting the right information in. When i ran the regular command, it says downloading ...OK and goes through the regular steps, but the phone hangs on the bootloader screen.
It never actually loads the custom recovery, just completely freezes the bootloader. I tried a couple different recoveries (CWM, TWRP) and they just don't do anything except lock up the phone.
I want to preserve my stock partitions and make a backup. I plan to go back to my 4.1.2 and perform the update, then load it and wipe so i can provide the stock nandroid backup for full throttle development. So if anyone knows the current command to boot a custom recovery in fastboot on 4.3, let me know.

You ran this one correct,
Code:
fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot twrp.img
because that's the only solution I've seen so far, I'll try to look further.
