How do I enable Immersive mode on chrome, hangouts, etc? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I enable Immersive mode on chrome, hangouts, etc?

I also find it quite strange they aren't immersed yet, as they are official apps. Google talked all about kit Kat immersion, yet it's own apps don't do it.

You don't "enable" it. It's something the developer of the app has to include.

What to disable

I discovered that in jb I can disable stuff from application management, I trial to go through all the bloatware (lookout, yahoo, t-mobile crap, etc.) But is there anything else I should disable ?

Apps sharing straight to Hangouts

Hey everyone,
I'm having an issue with apps not giving me the ability to choose what app I want to use when I click share. If I try to share a webpage in chrome it goes directly to Hangouts, it doesn't let me choose gmail or twitter, etc. Same in Feedly and other apps.
Does anyone else have this issue? It is very annoying and I can't figure out a fix.

Same problem here.
I noticed it after installing chrome beta, but it could have been a coincidence.
I tried clearing the defaults and the settings for the Hangouts app, no luck...
Disabling the app from the settings restores the usual list of apps, but I do need hangouts!

Google Apps Problem

Right, today I could not communicate with Google Services so thought it was a bad flash, so reflashed and that did not sort the problem. I tried the hosts trick and worked. I now cannot access G+ at all, it will force close every time. The other Google apps work though. Any ideas? I have tried clearing the apps cache and data.
And you made no changes what so ever between it working and not working?

None at all. This is why it gets me as I don't know what I'm earth could have caused it.

Google location services is bugging out on Google's end this morning and wonking other Google apps, including G+, Maps, Device Manager, and Chrome.

Question How to prevent Chrome from asking to install website apps?

When using Chrome and browsing a website that has an app, it keeps giving me a notification asking to install the app, when you click on it, it will link to the Play store.
My Note 20 did do this and I'm assuming there's some setting that needs to be toggled.
Is there a setting to turn off these notifications?

Question GMS Notifications

Hello,
Does anyone know how to fix the delayed google services notifications? I have tried everything but they still came late, I have a google pixel and they came on time compared to my Fold 2 this happens when the device is locked but when I unlock it the notifications start popping out.
I have tried all these settings:
Disabled Battery->Settings->Scenarios->Sleep mode
Enabled Apps->Gmail->Autostart and Changed Battery saver mode to unrestricted
Enabled all notifications for the App in question
Rooted my devices and disabled Doze with the Doze off app
ran adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable
Nothing has worked for me , any other idea what I could do?
Thanks
I don't know what GMS notifications are but I was going insane not getting gmail notifications when my phone screen was off as well, go back and look at my posts in this forum about it.
the app DozeOff fixed it for me from the Fdroid store. If you are rooted that should fix it. I think a combo of that app plus using the systemizer magisk module and making apps I was having problems with notifications system apps fixed it, dozeoff alone may fix it if you want to try that first.

GMS = Google Mobile Services, I have the dozeoff app installed but that alone didn't fix the issue, I'll try systemizing the apps.
Thanks!!
GMS is a framework, not an app. There are two basic frameworks on Android devices - GMS (Google Mobile Services) and HMS (Huawei Mobile Services). These frameworks must be installed on your device for apps from those respective infrastructures to work. GMS is backed into the firmware on Xiaomi CN ROMS, but it is not turned on by default. Search "Google" in your settings and you find "Google Basic Services". Turn it on. After that step, if you are not receiving instant notifications for particular Google apps, such as Gmail, you may want to use a different app. Email notifications using the Gmail app are notoriously slow on this device, as are Google email accounts accessed using the Outlook email app. The workaround for delayed Gmail notifications is to use an app called Edison Mail. Gmail accounts set up in Edison Mail get instant notifications. What other Google apps are you experiencing delayed notifications on?

Thank you for the clarification. The "Google Basic Services" has been enabled all the time and the issue persists, I also have notification issues with the Google Home app they are not arriving on time(I have Nest Security cameras) of course that app also uses the GMS framework for push notifications.
Thanks
Have you put your phone in developer mode and disabled optimizations?

Where to find this optimizations menu?
Go to main Settings on your Xiaomi device. Scroll down to find About Device/Phone and tap on it. Locate MIUI Version and tap several times on it. After that, you will get a message "You're now a developer!" on your device screen. Go back into Settings and you will now see Developer Options. Scroll down to the bottom of those options and toggle off Miui Optimizations.
