Because unfortunately most carriers block Google wallet from allowing you to use the tap to pay feature because they are backing Isis.

You don't need to be rooted to get it to work now. The new sim that came with the GN3 has the required secure element for Isis to work. They have even added a new prepaid card that you use to link your checking account or debit card. They are even giving you a free $20 credit.

Installed XPrivacy xposed module and blocked Shell Access for ISIS Wallet and it worked for me. I signed up for serve prepared and got $20.
I get the same message about rooted phone without xprivacy shell checked..

No one ever really said how they got it to work. I got it working by using XPrivacy which was stated but in XPrivacy the only box that needs to be ticked is Shell (commands, superuser).
Can someone please post the steps they took to get this to work.

1. Download XPrivacy.
2. Enable it in Xposed Installer.
3. Reboot
4. Open XPrivacy find ISIS in the programs.
5. uncheck all the boxes except Shell (commands, superuser).
6. close XPrivacy
7. Open ISIS and setup.
All these steps are assuming you are rooted and have given access to all the apps from above steps. Otherwise ISIS works if you are not rooted anyway. Hope I helped.

I dont know about tw acting crazy unless u enabled XPrivacy on tw launcher which i dont know if you can even do that. If you have been trying some of these other mods you could have partially messed up your root. Do you get any messages at the bottom of the screen when u enable XPrivacy module in xposed launcher? If so what is the message it should always read something but if it worked properly it will say something like access will be granted after reboot. I use very lil tweaks there are only a few things i cant do without.
I installed the 2.0 apk and activated the module and then downloaded and installed Isis after reboot and signed up n activated easily thanks!

Thanks to @hidea MOTO X is supported in my app.
UDN now has 2 navbar-hiding methods(v0.17):
-Safe via xposed (works everywhere except x86 devices)
-Dangerous way(by modificating build.prop). <-- this doesn't work on lots of devices including MOTO X, but does work on x86.
If you interested in trying it out, check these links:

Ok, cool
Since this method is individual yet, we need to go private:
mail me: pavel.sikun(at)gmail.com
I'll tell you what to do there
P.S. I just tested this method on several nexus-devices and 1stgen kindle fire - it works well.

I really want to try this... But I don't want to break my phone
I followed the instructions and the app kind of worked, but it didn't remove the existing navbar. It instead made a new one on top of it. I read the FAQ and didn't see anything on this.

Guys, don't use dangerous method on moto x, cuz it may Brick the phone. Hide navbar through xposed module, that's safe.
P.S. BusyBox is required only for dangerous method. I forgot to remove checks after I added safe way.
I did the safe method. And it works fine. You just have to mess around with xposed and soft reboots for everything to work.
what is the easiest way to install busybox? i have framework and stuff running right and SU lists UDN as having root rights. so i think busybox is the only thing im missing?

Nevermind, I'll remove this message for this, who use xposed to hide navbar. BusyBox is needed only for dangerous method.

go to Xposed installer and inside modules make sure Wanam Xposed is checked off
sorry if repeated
1-root
2- install xposed framework
2a- hit install
3-reboot
4-install nottach xposed module
5- go to xposed framework and go to modules and check the box
6- reboot
7- go to nottach xposed app
8-explore all tweak options
8a- necessary to reboot so changes come into effect
9- enjoy
Okay after the second reinstall I noticed my battery icon disappeared. But there was no sliding on and off toggle in themes. So figure it was having some effect but weird effect. Which is better than none. So did a complete third uninstall and reinstall and reboot and all that jazz and settings are the same but now it works. So weird. Moral: reinstall and uninstall over and over if something doesn't work lol

Here is the new way to disable powersaver icon without using xposed as now we r s-off unlocked on All sense Lollipop builds.
Download Android terminal emulator in play store
Open terminal
Type su to grant super user
Next type the command below
pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
Make sure to use capital letters where I did
Also I did it with powersaver turned off then after I disabled it I turned on powersaver. Icon will be gone.
If this helped you please hit the thanks button.

I dont think it matters. Does it?
OK so as you have noticed kit kat does NOT allow third party apps to write to the SD card, this is stupid, but lucky for us we have a fix IF you are rooted
we have 2 solutions
1) using root explorer or something similar go to
/system/etc/permissions/platform.xml
Click to collapse
and enter the permission that i have circled in red below (see attached) then it will work. Enter it so it looks EXACTALLY like it does below
2) the other option that MAY work is to go to the play store and download SDFix, that does the same thing (however myself and a few others are reporting that it isnt working as it is written)
big thanks to Mr Sam Epic for showing the fix, which came from Unknown Force in a SGS4 forum
****edit 4/19
had a few reports of SDFix not working, it didnt for me, i thought it was just a random error, what i did to fix it was to go into platform.xml and manually edit the permission so it looks exactally like the image below, i put in the extra return after the permission, there is not a logical reason why this fixed it, but it did

Yes, it works by overriding the Kitkat not being able to write to SD. should overcome that limitation in all aspects.
Yep. It's a kit kat issue. They killed third party apps being able to access the SD card

I use to flash this when I flashed ROMs that didn't read it. Maybe you can try it?

Is your phone rooted...the S5?

Here's a screenshot of what needs to be done to fix this issue, if the phone is rooted and you're using an app like root explorer. You need to put in the exact rule that's circled, save, exit and reboot. Credit goes to unknown force in a SGS4 forum.

The sd fix app worked thanks

Does that app essentially do the same thing as manually editing it?

Yes
Can anyone confirm that using the SD Card fix app, then deleting the app, if the fix still works??

I wish this worked, but it unfortunately does not. This does go to show that the feature is there, yet deliberately disabled by Verizon, Sprint, an ATT.

It appears to work but there are 1 or 2 other threads about this that have confirmed it to be borked

Correct, though this was not my find, here's a couple screen shots showing the perceived reason for it's failing. The entry that is believed to enable the actual functionality, in the \system\csc\feature.xml is set to "false", and being that the the feature.xml file is "read only", we kinda need root access to modify it.

I'd say you were lucky to find the one person within Verizon that would bring you even that close to setting it up. That person is clearly over-qualified to be working at Verizon.

I can confirm it works on my Sprint Model Rooted Galaxy S5.
I followed the OP's instructions:
1. I Downloaded and installed any cut apk
2. I Opened app and clicked new shortcut
3. I Clicked activity
4. I Scrolled down to "download booster" and created a shortcut.
I now have a shortcut to toggle download booster on/off.
I toggled it on and got the 4G/WIFI symbol next to the WIFI. I downloaded a movie and my speed was significantly faster.
Remember You have to have a 4G/LTE connection and be downloading a file larger than 30mb. It will not work with 3G.
