Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

the problem i got it while i was abroad in a work trip so dunno what i should do

Recovery Mode ???
Download Mode ???
If Not .
Return to the vendor under warranty .
Try a local Samsung service centre to see if they give warranty to abroad .
Pay for a service repair .

As JJEgan suggested, have you tried recovery mode?
Hold Volume Up and Power button at the same time for a few seconds. Does anything happen when you try that?

tried that and yet nothing happens
guess gonna visit a samsung repair center
but is it normal for it to go in sudden death with no other symptoms

I don't think that's normal, my note 10.1 never give me any problem, the most likely situation, for a 3 day usage and that sudden death, is a hardware fault, go to a samsung repair center and make use of the warranty.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Mine died just like that after 2 weeks on normal usage, no rooting no custom rom ..nothing. It won't even charge - no battery image

it happens to me 3 months after , i did not change anything on its system. Did you use magnetic cover for the tablet done by samsung.I always used it with it . There is no reason to sudden death instead of it

Try a different charger.

[HELP] GT-i9003 is dead

Last night i had put my i9003 on charge, after charging whole night when i wake up i saw that it was power off and was not turning on therefore i connected the charger again and it was not showing offline battery charging symbol also. I had tried several time turning on the phone but it is not responding. After giving up i showed up the phone to samsung service centre and they are saying that motherboard should be replaced which will cost around 5500~6000. One more thing i want to add that i was on samsung value pack rom with stock kernel from 3 days..... Please help me....
can u go in download mode or recovery mode
you said you overnight charge it? You tried replacing the battery first?
@pratik_s I have tried everything but no success, no download mode, recovery and charging.
@marshygeek Samsung has tried changing the battery but no success
Since the phone is not turning on.... and you left it on charge overnight, my best guess is that there was some sort of a power/electrical surge and your circuits got fried!
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SL on CyanogenMod 9 !
@arindam Is there any way to get repaired motherboard or i have to change the motherboard........
i think u should go to service centre they can tell u more about that and i dont think they repair motherboard they replace it.but if there is any other problem then u can get it repaired.
Your phones Motherboard is dead? Then only way of fixing it is to replace the Motherboard.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda app-developers app
is your guarantee period finished? if not finished they should repair/replace it without cost.
if your motherboard is dead so it has to be changed
This same thing was also happened with the when it will automatically turnoff then it will not able to switch on once again i have tried a lot but no sucess. please help me what to do ?

p3113 does not start

Hi guys,
My p3113 shut down itself 3 days ago (battery was not empty)) and I cannot start it since (normal boot or download mode).
In addition, when i try to charge it, I have an exclamation point and it does not charge.
Did my battery passed away?
I'm in stock rom, rooted (no problem before)
Do you have some ideas to resurrect it (no warranty...)
Thanks for your help!
no warranty? do you buy from the black market?
p.s: p3100 launched on april 2012, and have at least 1 year warranty

I bought it 2nd hand because I wanted a US version (with infrared) in Europe, and I don't have the original proof of purchase.
That's why I think the warranty won't work.
do you see the "Galaxy Tab 2" logo at first boot ?
There is nothing on screen, pressing the power button just do nothing.

Try to charge it even for 10 hours is their any sign of life when you connect charger try after connecting charger by 10 minutes and also try after 10 hours of charge to press power button for even a minute do you see any sign of life
Have the signs of life disappear after flashing it via odin or cwm?
Did a water come near it or is it damaged or fall from a height?

I will try this evening to charge it for 10 hours. but, when I plug it, I do not have the charging animation but an exclamation point... That doesn't sound good...

I didn't damaged it, but It's 2nd hand.

Perhaps you're rigth, but I think the previous owner is OK. I managed to recontact him and he accepted to send me the proof of purchase so that I can try to use warranty. I think he would have just ignored me if he had damaged the tab himself.
Unfortunately, I read on samsung website that they do not provide warranty service in Europe for devices bougth outside Europe...
I will try it if nothing can save my tab.
Anyway, thanks everybody for trying to help me.
I also have bad experience with 2nd electronics goods (both from 2nd or black market with reduced price), I think they are selling it because it is failed/broken products from the manufacturing plant, and they just wan't to sell that broken stuff so they still can get money
I won't buy any 2nd electronics anymore (except for cars, & house)
After several plug-unplug, I managed to have the charging animation and after 10 minutes of charging it finally started normally!
By the way, I don't know what to do now. I'm petty sure It will have problems again in the future, because it seems to be a hardware problem. I think the only solution is to try to use the warranty with the proof of purchase of the first owner when it will die again.
Do you have some better ideas to fix the problem?
Thanks for your help.
The best way is send back to samsung service center.

[Q] Tab Dead?

Can i get some help?
I was downloading a file on my 6800 when it froze, at about 20% battery remaining, so i help the power button to reset the device.
Once it booted up to the lock screen, i entered my lock pattern and it froze again.
So i reset the device again, but this time it was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 screen. So i reset the device again. Same problem.
Now i am not getting anything. I have plugged the power cord into the tab and i am not getting any indication that it is charging. Nothing.
I cannot get into download/recovery because nothing is happening.
Is my device truly dead?
P.s. How do i find the serial number? Its supposed to start with R, but i cant find it on the device or the box.
Let the tablet discharge completely, then recharge it again. And try booting up normally, in recovery or download mode. Serial number can be found at the back of the device. If not check your original purchase bill.

The tab is essentially a paper wieght. There is no indication that that it has any power, and will not boot into anything as nothing happens when the power button is pressed. So I cannot discharge it since i dont there is no indication of the remaining battery life and charging it shows no indication of current battery level.
The serial number is not on the back of the device, and i checked on my other tablet the P1000 it isnt there either, there is only the model number, the IMIE number and where it was made.

M out of station at the moment. Will be home next Monday. Will inform you if the serial number is printed on the box or not. I guess you'll need a zig cable to bring your device in download mode. Is your tab still under warranty? If so I guess it'll be better to take it to a service center.

Mine has frozen up a few times and read somewhere that if you have a black screen..and no buttons working..
then plug in wall charger wait for atleast 15 mins ..then hold power button for 15 secs..
the battery charging icon should appear..then can be turned on.\
its kind of like before you could hold power button and or volume buttons but nothing happening.
I was worried mine had somehow hard bricked but this worked for me recentley..
If doesnt work for you and still nothing then see samsung..

Your welcome... If you've kept the original plastic protector at the back there is also a sticker indicating the IMEI and S/N.
Just send it back to Hong Kong with origonal purchase receipt..
They will replace motherboard and no questions asked.
I bought mine in HK and have sent it back twice under warrenty..
To be honest i think sending it Hard bricked is the best way to get it repaird
as they have no way of knowing what Roms n stuff youve Flashed lol..

Can you post the name and address to the place in Hong Kong that you sent it to??
I may have to send mine there from the USA.. and it is NOT warranty covered anymore....
Will they work on it for me?? and charge me to fix it??
Ill pay them.. I just need it fixed.
I beleive there are 3 repair centres in Hong Kong..
My Freind had mine fixed in Hong kong because at the time i was in Australia.
Samsung repair centre..
Unit 1501, 15/F, Causeway Bay Plaza 1, 489 Hennessy Rd, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, Hong Kong
+852 2521 4888
Maybe for starters ring this number, this one i got from google....
ask for somebody that can speak good english..
Maybe get them to email you the postage address incase you get it wrong somehow..
Like i posted have droped mine in for Bricked twice..
They will do it in 1 day and ring you the next telling you to pick it up.
Doesnt take long..
At moment ive asked DanielHK how much it cost as he is getting his fixed there now.
when i get a price i will let you know what they charged him, dont pay more!.
The thing about HK is different price for chinese and different price for the Gui Lo's!!!
seems like mine is now bricked - no response from the charger or by usb, i was using it today and it ran out of battery and wont do anything,it was acting funning the last few days, it actually would never turn off, when i powered it off it would just turn back on again, and as i posted in another thread it would charge with the cable for a few days it would only charge by usb, them all of a sudden it starting charging by usb again but not with the original charger it came with - i have had it charging for over an hour and still nothing, i will charge it overnight and try again tomorrow - i will probably send it to my office in hong kong and see if they can work with the repair center to get it fixed - but in the meantime i need another 7.7 ! i guess i will just have to pick one up on kijiji - there is one in my area for $375 which is about half the price i paid for my current one - oh well i will just sell 2 of my nexus 7's and get another 7.7 i dont really use the nexus 7's anyway only to test out different roms
edit - does anyone know if samsung canada can / will repair it if i pay for it or know anyone else that can i would rather pay and get in done here then send to hong kong ? i had a company in mississauga that fixed my bricked original galaxy tab 7 a few years ago but i dont really trust those guys to work on this tablet

Hey guys
I rooted and flashed paranoid android of my tab and it was working fine. Couple of weeks later I left it to charge overnight not realizing the charger is spoilt, hence, didn't charge my tab. Batt drained completely and i couldn't get it started again. Tried leaving it to discharge overnight and plugging in a new charger to charge overnight and still nothing. It was still under warranty so I sent to to samsung and guess what? They told me it's been rooted and hence the warranty is void and they told me they need to replace the motherboard which costs almost $300. :crying: FML. Took it back and now I have a really fancy paperweight.
Was wondering if you guys know anything I can do to get it back to life? Or at least unroot it so I can send it back for repairs?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Maybe not Dead, just its gone completely flat.
When it discharges to a certain amount you cant charge it even with wall charger as needs a certain amount of power
from the battery to activate the charging circuits.
I havent pulled one open yet but u need to pop the screen out from the front..
then remove battery and charge it from some other means then replace it..\
should now turn on again..
Just a guess but if its a paper weight you got nothing to loose right?

[Q] Nexus 5 constantly rebooting at 'Google'

Guys my gf's Nexus 5 shutdown today and just refuses to boot up. It doesn't do anything with any of the keys pressed in any of the combinations that are defined. But once it is plugged in to the charger or USB, the google logo pops up and the phone keeps on rebooting to that logo. If the volume down key is pressed when this is happening, the fastboot mode is visible for a second and the phone keeps rebooting. No action can be done in the fastboot mode due to the quick reboot. If on battery, then the phone does nothing. If plugged in to charger and the key combination is tried then the phone keeps on doing as shown in the video.
Don't know what's going on.
Try doing that but with the phone connected to a PC that has adb and fastboot installed.

You have a fauilty or a stucked power key.
If it is just stucked then you can unstuck it by abusing the power key or taking the phone apart.
If it is fauilty then you have to claim your warranty.
If you disassemble the phone you will void your warranty

A few days back, she had got the power button fixed because the power button response had become intermittent and the phone was rebooting randomly. She had taken the phone to a LG service center first, but they told her that changing the button or trying to fix it might damage the board and told her to change the board altogether. So we took it to a local repair guy who fixed it and the phone was working fine till yesterday when it shutdown all of a sudden and then the rest is history.
Note: The phone is not under warranty as the phone was bought from Dubai and we stay in India. No international warranty.

Yeah the repair guy you dealt with must have fixed the button short-term but in doing so inadvertently caused it to short out. Meaning it needs to go back to a repair shop (better one) and cross your fingers that it didn't short out more important components

Had my Nexus 5 for about a few month now, and have loved it till this morning, it decided to just shut off (full battery too) and i tried to turn it on and it is now just constantly starting up to the "Google" splash screen then shutting off.
Sometimes it gets to the the 4 color circles then shuts off.
I want to enter into recovery mode, but I have no time to click recovery mode as it reboots frequently
One thing i noticed when it did boot up was the power button seems to be extremely sensitive and volatile
I had this same problem.. It constantly rebooted and wouldn't let me get into recovery.. Every time I plugged in the charger it would reboot also. You have to let the battery completely drain.. I gave it a couple weeks.. then tried it again and it worked.
Found a solution
Well same thing started to happening with me yesterday after installing android L's developers' preview in my nexus 5. It worked well for first 4-5 hours but then after terminating a phone call when I put it back to my pocket problem started. I searched many forums for solution then I decided to re-install from image. I connected my phone to My PC (Which had driver installed & fastBoot setup) dramatically my phone started working well. And I detached my phone from PC. So I thought it might solved because after supplying charging. But after 3-4 hours it started again so I directly plugged in to electric socket but it kept on rebooting. Then I turned on my PC and attached my nexus 5 with it. Again it started dramatically.
Still I don't know the exact reason behind it. But good new is my phone is still working since last 16 hours... But I took care of not to launch some apps listed risky for developer's preview. So I thing some incompatible app launch may be a reason... but still its only "may be"

If it happens again try what I just answered and let us know if it worked for you? So we can come to know if solution was nexus 5 specific or android L specific. Also mention the OS version, please.

If it happens again try what I just answered and let us know if it worked for you? So we can come to know if solution was nexus 5 specific or android L specific. Also mention the OS version, please.

Thanks. I restored it to the original nexus 5 build - but nothing seems to fix the problem. will reach out to service center.

My U11 is dead! No response, No charging

I was just using it normally today,
The battery was down to some 23%, charged it a bit to aprox 40%
then suddenly every locked up, and it went dim, and then dead
I plugged it into the Quick charger (original HTC factory and original cable), and it's still unresponsive.
it was rooted and running Viper ROM 1.4
Currently it's cold as ice, normally while charging it should be Warm.
Tried the Button Down + Power Button for 15 sec, many times unsuccessfully.
Normally that will bring it back from whatever lock up, but this time nothing, totally unresponsive.

Did you update to Viper ROM 1.6 and have you tried booting into Download Mode?

it wont even turn on.
I was with HTC tech support for the past hour, and we tried everything.
so, now it's going straight for warranty
it wont charge, it wont turn on, it doesn't accept any of the known keys combinations to get it into the download mode.
the weird thing is that everything was working just fine and normal, until moments before I left office.
it was hard to turn on, so i though oh no problem, I'll just restart it.
Restart it went, it came back, but then shortly later it went again into that annoying deep sleep mode, and was able to bring it back on, once more
but by the time I walked from the office to the car, the phone turned off again, and it remained dead since then.
apparently it's a "Known Issue" since it's in the most asked FAQ list in HTC support help page.
hmm... funny they just hid that FAQ, and replaced it with http://www.htc.com/ca/contact/produ...ent=GUID-780CE6E8-1156-4527-8980-445582D60A70
there was another similar one, but it was specific to some power issues, similar to this one http://www.htc.com/ca/contact/produ...ent=GUID-599060AE-0591-4FA1-B77F-C6A635196E49

That's the thing that sucks
it's already after 30 days, so they can't do a straight swap
that means i'll need to mail it in for warranty repair, which takes several weeks, plus the shipping back and forth that's at least 6 to 8 weeks down time

It has been 6.5 weeks for me. Had to send it in two weeks after receiving it with a different problem. Repair actually took 2.5 weeks, while the spare parts sent right from Taiwan needed 4.5 weeks to arrive in Europe.
Return period in Germany is only 14 days so I had to take the warranty repair as well.

I think if you make enough noise at the support or escalate it maybe through Social media, then they might send you a replacement device instead of a repair. Sometimes these support centers would have escalation processes in place for such situations but won't really honor it until the customer start making noise. Especially HTC would try and minimize bad PR.
Yesterday the same happend to me.
I had the feeling that the battery connector wasn't properly connected/disconnected, so I searched for a picture to see if by pushing on the back of my device i could reconnect the battery connector (see this pic and this pic). Luckily this worked for me so now i can backup my data and exchange it (also luckily, im still within the voluntary 14 day returning period of my provider).
Hope this helps someone else too.
Mine is gone 2 days ago too.
When I woke up in the morning, I saw it's still on the charger, but soon I found the device is gone and I checked some log (I have configured Syncthing to do some backup to my PC, unfortunately, I only paired the device but no task is configured yet.) and found the device is just gone around I woke up.
Tried all combinations including vol+ & vol- & PWR for 30secs~2mins, none of them work. Pressing around battery connector doesn't work still.
Its cold as a brick. No response when I plug it to my MacBookAir, but shown as an unknown device on my Windows7 Desktop.
Now I'm waiting for it self recovery since I still not backed up my internal storage yet, and my data won't be guarantee if I send it back to HTC.
No solution yet. Just an echo for the topic.
A small update.
So, after I sent it in for Repair... damn HTC finally fixed the phone and send it back to me after 6 months.
The worst experience ever.
I got the same issue as well. My phone just went dead on me today. It does response to anything at all. May I know from those who experienced before what is the cause of the problem? What did the service center do to help out?
Happened to me today. After having it 5 months, warranty exchange.
Mine HTC U 11 turned off since 23-01-2019. Not charging . not turning. Nothing is working. I am from India. I could not find any authorized service center for HTC here too. .
What to do now.
Please suggest me what to. If any one can.
