[APP] HTC One Kernel Tool - Android Apps and Games

HTC One Kernel Tool by djpbx
I've decided to brush up my Java skills, and what better way to do this with as with an app for our very special One.
This app will let you control your kernel, and will give you more control with every version.
Of course you will need an HTC One, a custom kernel, and root of course.
I've only tested this on a self-compiled Omni-rom but it should work with any Android ROM.
The current version only allows you to toggle Logo2Menu, but excpect more later.

Does the official CM 9.0 for desire S releaed?

I've heard the CM 9.0 is released. But when I go to the CM website for download, I'm disappointed, I only found the CM7.x even in nightlybuild.
HTC has released out the 4.0 for Desire S,why CM still build the 7.x?Does anyone of CM maintained the rom for Saga?
CM9.0 has not yet been released and is considered in alpha state. The reason is that devs are waiting for official HTC kernel 3.0 sources to build betas (and releases). At the moment, only workarounds have been developped to use old kernel.
Moreover, devs have already moved to CM10 (jelly-bean based builds) but still, without kernel sources, ROM is stable but not enough to be considered final.
ICS is not officially released. There is no kernel source, therefore no support (for now) for our device. We have to wait for HTC and then guys from CM could add us to supported devices.

CM9 will not have any updates.
The focus has shifted to CM10.
When kernel sources are out, and the kernel work will be done for JellyBean (CM10).
Tapatalked from a Desire S with Kernel 3 built from One V sources. Take that HTC!!!!!!
HTC haven't released ICS for the HTC Desire S, they have pushed back the ETA for the update to sometime during August. It could take a further month for them to release the Kernel source code which prevented our device from getting a stable release of CM9.
There is a petition you can sign which is trying to get HTC to release their source code a lot quicker.
The latest CM9 build by Nexx is fairly stable. I use it daily and haven't changed since first putting it on my device. It does reboot now and again and is sometimes slow at locking/unlocking but there have been no major issues and it is much better than running the stock ROM from HTC.
I don't understand why HTC release the source for newer devices, but don't for the others, the older ones.
Because newer devices are considered more important to upgrade, hence the code released soon after the upgrade...
For older phones, the code has been released but for the 2.6 kernel, not the 3.0 required by ICS and above. Currently, HTC has said that they are testing the new kernel and libraries for stable and improved user-experience... so we have to wait even if we use custom ROMs...

Yes, a Stripped down version of gapps is included.
I can't get this rom to work with any of the kernels for aokp, anyone got that working?
Edit: Saw it was based on CM, shouldn't make a difference or am I wrong? If so, are there any custom kernels that will work? I'm getting really annoyed by the screen tear, although I've disabled HW-overlay etc. Great rom btw!
How does the battery compare to CM? Is it slightly better, moderately, significantly..etc?
for me battery-life is way better than normal CM 10.1...
min 192
max 1512
ondemand
scheduler ROW
thumps up! great rom!
Screen tearing fix included?
And i hope the battery life is good, because on CM the battery life is bad

I haven't seen any tearing yet. The battery life is very good.

When i am going trough the menu, you can see the screen tearing..
I will flash bubba kernel! To test if the screen tearing is gone.
I dirty flashed this over CM 10.1, I can't really see much difference in the battery life though. But I'll see how it proceeds through the day.
Btw using the boot.img from yoursong's tearing fixed CM10.1 build from 14th April and it works fine. Can anyone confirm the original kernel version that is included in this ROM?
I´ve installed the rom at this moment. I´ll give it a try. I love lightweight rom´s like slimbean. The problem which I have with the most rom´s for the one s is that they don´t get many updates.
Which benefit does I have with 10 roms when every of these 10 roms have bugs and a short live until new roms will be published. This is my opinion, I hope that I don´t hurt something. I´ll respect each developer and rom porters and would like to thank each of you for the hard work.
Is it possible that we get a version for HTC One S with older Snapdragon S3 processor?

wow! love to see you here! I used Lungo on my One S and it was the best I ever had.
Will try out later!
The project sounds interesting. Especially since it's based on CM.
Is there a more detailed description available on how the longer battery life is realized? Is it just from removing apps and widgets? Or are there changes to the code itself, too?
Usually I'd go with CM11. But it would be nice to get a better idea about in how far it differs from the classic CM.

Does this use the newer partition table? Will I need to update my twrp and hboot? Im currently on stock 4.2.2 jelly bean with s-off and hboot 2.19. I don't want any trouble if I decide to go back to stock 4.2.2 jelly bean. Cheers.
ALSO is this build running ART and SELINUX? Will I be able to run Xposed framework with this?

I think this requires the new partition table. i too am s-off, hboot 2.19 twrp 2.6.3. i tried to install this and all seemed fine initially,BUT... it booted to setup then popups saying that "pico tts has stopped" and wont continue. downloaded ROM and gapps a few times in case it was a dodgy dload.

I've got same problem with S-Off and HBoot 2.21 and Twrp 2.6.3.
It is the problem of this ROM - you need to flash it, boot up and then install gApps.
Then it will work - I have the same problem with Codename Lungo on S4 Mini.
