I recently rooted my Samsung GSIII using the following link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2046439) and when i use my phone, no superuser was installed, and i dont have root access. I know this is a stupid question, i just want a answer please. Thanks!
I'm pretty positive you'll want to odin route 66 for your model. Then download the unlock bootloader app from market if verizon not sure other carrier but then goo manager to flash twrp recovery. After you have completed the odin. Youll be on k3 if verizon already rooted. Then open unlock app. Click unlock. Then open goo and hit menu button on phone for the option to install open script recovery. Bam go backup and enjoy

Could you explaine a little more please and maybe provide some links, thanks
Download the superuser zip ( look in Google) reboot into recovery and flash it
... If you really did root it, then it'll work. If not, read a little more because you did something wrong. Not meaning to sound like a ****, but honestly you should read everything before attempting this. It really is easy. Flash the old bootchain and then If you would've download the rootdebugfs it pretty much does everything automatic. Then unlock your downloader, install a recovery and voila..

long story short I unlocked bootloader, installed twrp, DID NOT backup (I know) gained su, tried to install cm10 and now I am in boot loop. tried relocking and re flashing stock ruu, that landed me in only booting into bootloader. re-unlocked and re flashed twrp back to boot loop. I am not real familiar with adb so I would need simple instructions please. what do I do? thanks
You haven't given the important information, please post your bootloader details.

I can get into bootloader and I can get into recovery but from there i'm not sure what to do, in the original instructions I went to reboot and clicked system, after doing that is when the boot loop started and if I do it again now the same thing happens just bootloops

s-off!!! After you ruu before reunlocking or anything are you still bootlooping? I have had that happen before, I fixed it once with a factory reset in bootloader. Make sure you only do factory reset in bootloader completely stock or you will corrupt sdcard. Running "fastboot erase cache" in fastboot after flashing custom recovery or even stock could help, i always run this command anytime i flash something in fastboot. When flashing a custom rom make sure to do full wipes, i always go to advcanced in wipe tab and select everything except sdcard.

very useful and easy to follow thanks for the link, however adb commands don't seem to be working as when I try any of them nothing happens. even adb devices just says list of devices attached and there is no list and no devices, adb shell does nothing etc. I tried a factory reset from bootloader and it just rebooted into twrp...when from feeling like a king when I finally got su on there to such a dumbass now, and the wife is enjoying telling me I should've have messed with it in the first place.
If you can get into twrp do it then mount your device to pc, copy a ROM of choice to filesystem, unmount phone, do a full wipe, then flash the ROM.

ok so I re-formatted it and was about to enter twrp and mount the drive, I downloaded the latest updated rom from htc.com and tried to load it with twrp that didn't work so I tried to use htc's tool and that didn't work either.
You need to slow down and do some research before trying all this stuff which you have no clue about. You're on a fast track to actually bricking your phone. All you need to do is install a ROM in recovery, reboot to bootloader, flash the boot.img from the ROM via fastboot and reboot into the ROM. That's all you needed to do from the very beginning because you're s-on. Unfortunately the people who were trying to help you didn't identify this and kinda sent you on a wild goose chase

Well he had a corrupted that wouldn't let him mount the SD so my advice was to format it to fat32 then install a ROM from the forum.

The corrupted sd card wasn't until later in the thread. You don't need adb for that anyway, you format it through Windows. All he had to do originally was flash the boot.img via fastboot.

You should be able to just Google adb/fastboot. The traditional way is to download the Android SDK and get it from there but that's a huge download. I know there are sources which will supply you with just adb and fastboot but I can't remember where.

I had rooted and installed CM 10.2 to my tablet about two weeks ago. It was working fairly well but I decided I wanted to go back to my stock ROM. When I flashed the stock ROM the tablet caught in a boot loop after resetting, never getting past the Samsung screen. I can get into the stock recovery mode, but I have lost my root access. According to recovery mode the /efs has been corrupted. I cannot get into download mode, so Odin and Kies are of no use right now.
I can flash from my external sd card, but being a stock ROM without root it will not load accept anything that is not digitally signed. I've not been able to find a digitally signed ROM or recovery mode that would help, I even tried getting the ROM from Kies but to no avail. I can get command line access through my PC, but without root there is not much I can do with this.
So now I'm stuck with the worst of both worlds, a corrupted stock ROM with no root access.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
If stuck in bootloop, have you tried factory reset in recovery?

It just goes straight into recovery mode, no matter what I do. Never goes into or gives me the option to go into download mode.
I can get into adb and flash things that way, but if what I'm trying to flash isn't digitally signed it won't flash it because I lost root.

I think i have a answer, since youre stuck in recovery and it does register in adb right? download the toolkit here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341488
follow all instructions in the command prompt, choose your model and version of last installed software, if not listed choose 4.1.2
then choose option 3 to install a recovery image, i will reflash my device and make a recovery zip for you to flash in twrp and that should fix it or so i think.
Wait- why can't you get into Download Mode? (You've tried holding down "Power" and "Volume Down", I'm assuming?) Plus, you've mentioned "signed images"- which model do you have? (neither the N8000 nor N8013 require signed images, as they're factory unlocked).

Just so you know Volume Down is the one closest to the power button!!! and if you can get into download mode you could also flash a recovery from there and then install a rom.

I'm not sure exactly. Since something went wrong when I flashed my ROM I also lost my backup of the original Samsung ROM that came with the tablet. Not sure if that's a related problem or not. Due to not having a backup I downloaded a stock ROM from SamMobile and flashed that one. That's when I lost my ability to get into download mode and the CWM I was using.
It is a N8013. There is one wire leading from the battery labeled N8000, which caused some confusion to me, but it is a WiFi tablet, not 3G, and all other documentation says it's a N8013. Maybe Samsung uses similar internal parts.

Your boot.img is most likely fine, you just need to restore your system partition. Did you make a backup of your device using your custom recovery? If so, then you need to restore using that backup. Otherwise, I can provide a link to either my TWRP backup (not CWM compatible), an RUU, or my deodexed Rom. Your choice. First, if you already have a backup made up, then apply it. Otherwise, let me know.

Its an ruu, an ruu is about as legit as you are going to get when it comes to restoring your phone. So yes, it will work . If your phone bootlooped when you flashed twrp in the past then my guess is that you either used the wrong fastboot commands and wrote it to another partition by accident, or you used a TWRP that was not presumably built for your phone and thus used another TWRP designed for another device.

If you are about to do something to your phone, make sure you know exactly what you are doing, why you are doing it, how it works, why it works, should I make a mistake what are my escape routes, and if all else fails - plan B. If none of these are set to mind then I recommend you do absolutely nothing to your phone until you actually understand its method.

Thank you for everything. This is forth phone I've rooted a phone. First three where easy : evo 4g, galaxy 3s, galaxy prevail. But this was tricky not as many rims out there for it. Again thank you. Now that I fixed it I'm going root it again just no system tweaking apps for me
Hi, So i just bought this device and I've looked all over the internet to root my htc one sv on BOOST mobile. I unlocked the bootloader but then must have been following the wrong guide and flashed a wrong recovery or something. I can boot just not into recovery, it gets stuck "entering recovery". Does anyone know a recent and more updated way to root this device?! Thank you so much in advance!

You have to have the ICS boot loader and Boot Menu Manager in order to install and run CM11 or any other ROM that is Jelly Bean and up. Just update your firmware, root, install BMM the start flashing.
So I'm having some trouble.. Before I do this I need to fix something.. Heres whats going on every time I reboot I lose my imei number my carrier says unknown and i have the red circle with the line thru it. I dont want to install another rom if this is going to keep happening. An advice on how I can change some settings to make it stop. I've looked and looked only find things for galaxy's. Thanks in advance

catch me up with what you did to get where your are at, I need to know your cause before I can find a solution.
next, are you rooted and have a custom recovery installed? You can boot but get nothing right? Did this happen when you flashed a new ROM or after you got rid of things in your system?

After I had a jelly bean update, only the touch version of TWRP seems to work. Every recovery I tried other than that is not working. The touch version is tweaked by some contributors in xda. Latest recoveries of twrp itself not works with my handset

only thing i did was change my boot animation. An thats it downloaded cydia substrate and winter board.. I removed both and tried to reboot and same thing happened. Also it was doing it before I even installed them and changed the boot animation.
I might of deleted some att apps but when I did a full restore and got them back I even fully uninstalled bootstrap with titanium back up. An say after I fully restored I turned my phone off and back on boom no imei no service etc..
My phone is rooted an im on firmware 2.3.6
I have no clockwork mod I cant get it too work or I know I cant get clockwork mod wit bootstrap.. But even when i went into boot recovery i was just in a bootloop at my motorola boot screen. an was not able to get into recovery no matter what button i pressed.

install ROM manager, its an app, it has an option that lets you boot into recovery straight from system without having to use the buttons

I hate to say it but it looks like you might have to flash a jelly bean STOCK(not custom) firmware, then start over from scratch, I think you are going to have to do it anyway because there are things in the stock jellybean that you're gonna need in place before you flash any kind of new ROM, it would also be easier that way than trying to fix your problem befire you start.

did you try piwering off or pulling the battery out it back in and then use the button combination to boot to recovery instead if using bootstrap to boot to recovery?

yes as long as it is a stock version of jelly bean for your device, doesnt matter the version as long as its for your exact model number
you won't be able to do it through recovery though, you'll have to have a oc to flash stock firmware to your device, you'll need to download your stock firmware (not custom roms), the usb drivers for your device, and whatever program is required to flash your stock firmware. no other way, then you'll have to root again and install a recovery then you can find and flash whatever custom roms are available for your device

you might could just reflash recovery with a pc with whatever method your device uses on pc then flash a custom rom, its safest to just flash the stock and start over

there is a process that you can do through the terminal emulator app that you can make a backup of your imei and a method to restore it but you'll have to find how it is done for your device, do a google search for "HOW TO MAKE AN IMEI BACKUP FOR (your device model)" that should give you something.

Hello..!!
Do you've Atrix 2 mb865 ..?? if yes you can follow this step..
you need to download ICS/JB leak firmware for ur device AT&T/International version, then you need rsd lite to flash ur stock fw back to ur device via fasboot mode..
Root ur device again and then you need to install Boot Menu Manager from playstore . No Bootstrap anymore if you want to have KK rom on ur Atrix2..
Bootstrap only can be use if you're still on GB only..
Hope you got it my friend ...

No.. you no need to backup your IMEI on this device.. But you must need to backup your CID .
You can do it via bmm recovery.. there was a option menu to do it when you're on recovery setting interface ...
Sorry if I'm wrong. ..

I told him I wasn't familiar with his device, I told him to flash a newer version of stock because it has parts he'll need if he flashes a newer custom ROM but he keeps wanting yo fix what he's running even though he's gonna have to flash over it anyway to get where he wants to be so I don't see wgat the problem is, flashing stock will get rid of his issue then flash up to whatever Rom he wants, I don't see why he doesn't just go ahead and do it now instead of doing what he's doing.
