At the moment, there is no way to go back to full stock. You would need an RUU which HTC have not made available....

you just got root?/ are you still s-on with locked bootloader?
the later two are much more important than root..for warranty purposes

you need to do S-ON for warranty claims....and to do S-ON you need to flash stock RUU first(this will remove root)..
check this guide...for S-ON and unroot (step 5)for guide click here
if you just want to unroot...and leave the rest...as it is
then
1.if you got supersu as root manager....there is a option in settings to do permanent unroot
2.if you got superuser. as root manager...then it might have the same option too..chk it..otherwise install supersu from market and unroot

When you have the RUU, run it without a device first. When the first window of the RUU opens, drag it to the side of your screen, open Explorer and search your windows drive for "rom.zip". When you find it copy it to another location and close the RUU window.
Open rom.zip archive and you will find a file called "android-info.txt" open it and see if your cid is listed there. If it is present you can flash this RUU safely.
Yep, it's in there. Thank you guys!

What is the significance of HBOOT Preupdate? All the RUUs have a Preupdate value 13, my phone has a Preupdate value of 12. That doesn't matter probably?

Try this, not sure if the ruu is there but is one of the few sites still open

Thanks for your help, but it's not there. Is there any way to restore DS without this RUU? It's bootloader unlocked, rooted, has the custom recovery. unfortunately the "misc version" was not uploaded in adb mode, thus I cannot change the main version, to be able to downgrade it. But since the main version is "too high" (2.10.161.5) and there is no adb mode and I dont have the original RUU there is nothing to do. Is it possible somehow to change the main version in fastboot???? I think this would be the only chance without the the ruu.
Try this site http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/?developer=Saga

Guess you forgot to fastboot flash boot boot.img
Also, why would you need a RUU anyway? You can still enter recovery, can't you? Heck, of course you can: even if you couldn't you could always fastboot flash recovery recovery.img a working one.
I fail to see why a RUU would be necessary here.

Thanks for your help, but I dont really understand what u say..... Right now there is clockwork 5.0.2.0 on it, we tried to install custom roms, which seemed to be done, but the phone stops at HTC logo after flashing. I guess I could flash back the original recovery (actually I only have one from RUU 1.32.161.1), but how would it solve my problem? How about the other image files, like system, hboot etc? Please exlain it to me a bit more detailed! Thx

Lets see again: bootloader unlocked, cwm 5.0.2.0 installed, as you adviced I flased an official 1.32.161.1(older than the original 2.10.161.5) boot.img, then tried to install from recovery the custom rom, which still seems to be ok, but the phone freezes at htc logo during boot. This custom rom is a well known working version, there shouldnt be any problem. What else can I do without the RUU?

What? You flashed the boot.img from a RUU and expected it to work with a custom ROM??
Why don't you just flash the boot.img that's included with the custom ROM...?

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to return the Mrs' HTC One S back to stock but I seem to have bricked it instead!
The phone is running HBOOT 2.13 and RADIO is 1.11.50.05.28 and S-ON.
To return it to stock I relocked the bootloader and then attempted to run RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_Radio_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301814_signed_2_4.exe
Unfortunately I got the 131 error and now the phone is left without a ROM and only boots into the bootloader.
How do I fix the phone? I believe I need to find the correct RUU but for the life of me I can't seem to find one that works...
The phone is simlocked to T Mobile UK.
Thanks for your help guys!!
Robbie

Instal Europe_3.16.401.8, after 2.31.401.5

I think I need a T-Mobile UK RUU in order to get the phone working again.. Do you know of any that you can link to?
Thanks

No you need to restore stock rom for your device and update via OTA
Will this work on M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH (Unlocked) with HBOOT 1.57?
I don't think I have the international version to be fair.

So simply copy the M7_7 zip to the phone, go to TWRP recovery and Install ZIP from there, that is it?
It does not require S-OFF?

It doesn't state in OP that S-OFF is required so should work
Flash like normal rom if you want to use OTA later on pick the stock recovery, if you want too root ect, pick TWRP
Also may have to flash Boot.img via fastboot don't know if the rom installs it automatically

Can anyone be so kind to upload the stock recovery for htc a9 sprint. Thank you so much in advance :good:
Anyone? Please?
If you flash the stock sprint RUU for your device, you will get the stock sprint recovery
Im from the philippines and i bought this as a 2nd hand phone. When i bought it it already has twrp,s-off and cid 11111111 and sim unlocked. Im afraid that it would simlock my phone if i flash stock sprint ruu. That is why i badly need stock recovery for sprint so i can install ota. Im still on android 6.0
To take ota you need to be relocked unrooted s-on and have stock recovery

Some of us are on OSX and can not reflash via RUU. So would be nice to have a copy of the recovery to be able to flash via fastboot.
