Horizontal Leather Wallet Belt Case? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone use a leather wallet type case (one that has a compartment for cash/ID/cards) that clips on the belt horizontally? Have done a google and amazone search without fruitful results (one that is available, fits a large 5" phone, etc). That said, what horizontal cases do people recommend? I've always used PDAir but they're on the pricier side.

looking for a certain case

I am looking for a certain style of case of my TB. I am looking for a "book" or folio style case, in leather. I'm not looking for a holster or any case that the phone must be removed from to use. A book style would have a flap over the screen that open like a book. It would be secured by a snap or magnet.
A cutout for the camera would be a plus but not required. No belt loops, clips or other protruding attachments (unless they can be removed). Screen protection not a requirement (other than the flap when closed).
I only found one online from www.forrte.com
http://www.fortte.com/scr/showproduct.php/1739?type=0
I have no experience with this company.
Any thoughts or opinions of the Forrte cases? My last leather case was a tight fit on my iphone.

Love the BodyGlove

I love everything about my Charge except the chintzy case.
I didn't care about that as I always use a hardshell case on any phone to help me hold it better and for protection.
I tried the OtterBox Commuter and the Incipio but both came out of my pocket with White lint covering the black silicone parts which irritated the hell out of me.
The rocket fish case from BestBuy is awesome, but almost too small although I really like it. The shiny black hard silicone case from VZ is also a great option and easy to remove for battery swaps as it's all one piece.
My all time favourite that I use everyday now however is the two piece BodyGlove. It gives an awesome grip on the phone, is not too bulky and is fairly easy to install/remove.

I'm looking for a Body Glove for the Droid Charge that actually includes the swivel belt clip with kickstand. I've returned 3 of these already, from different sources, even Walmart, and even though they advertise that it comes with the swivel belt clip and kickstand...it doesn't. So I called the manufacturer, and they said they don't make them like this anymore for the Charge, and they don't have any of the ones with the belt clip left in stock. Now, I've asked about a half dozen different sellers on ebay that advertise the case with the belt clip. But none of them actually do come with the belt clip. Can anyone point me to a confirmed source that actually sells these with the belt clip/kickstand? I really would like to have one. Thanks.

Pouches

Here I am, in total confusion. Should I buy a pouch or case?
Here's what I feel, think and want:
I like a pouch, because the phone inside is pure. I can take it out and I'll be holding the phone in its slimmest form (read: original form). On the other hand, I have used pouches before with my LG Optimus 2X and the cover got these marks where it always slid over the pouch (basicly, cover was screwed).
That said, it's pretty clear. I like to hold the S5 like I got it from the box. On the other hand I would like it to have some protection.
I feel that a flip case (from Samsung) might suit me the best, because it's pretty thin and covers the screen as well.
But, somehow I think that this flip case might be a bit unhandy sometimes (taking pictures, holding it to type, sturdy?).
What I'm asking: does anyone have experience with large smartphones and pouches?
Here's some links:
S5 Flip wallet
Krusell Pouch 1
Krusell Pouch 2
(also, if you know some other pouches - perhaps tailored for the S5 - do tell!)
I am looking for a pouch as well..using the one for I got for the S3 but for obvious reasons, it doesnt close the top portion unless if i force the velcro to reach, lol.
I'm also looking for a pouch for my S5. I've purchased a couple off of ebay. They are always too big. Has anyone found one that they could recommend that fits a naked S5? Not one that can also fit a Note. This is a big phone already and I don't want to have an even bigger pouch on my belt.
I'm not in the practice to carry a purse around. I carry a pouch on my belt. I use it to carry my phone, nothing else. I have a wallet in my back pocket for cards and such. I like the look and feel of the phone itself. I don't want to cover my well designed phone with a cheap case or even and expensive one. I'm looking for a pouch that fits the s5 cleanly and naked. All I've seen so far are ones that fit it with a case on it or they are universal and big enough to also fit a note. The note is a class bigger than I need.

I don't know exactly what you are looking for but I just received this pouch and my naked S5 fits in it perfectly with no room to spare. You may have tried one like this already. Once clipped onto your belt the case can be rotated 360 degrees through eight different, fairly firm positions 45 degrees apart. If you don't want the rotation capability you could easily glue it in the position you want. The flap is held in place magnetically.

Those are the specs I am looking for. But I'm also wanting a horizontal pouch. I also need a very good clip. I usually get one that has the the extra belt loops on each side of the clip. I work on a ladder all the time and usually have other things on my belt also. I've had lesser clips work their way off while up there and phones don't do well from a drop that far up.

[Q] Belt Case/Holsters - What's "in" this season? What U Playrs Be Rockin'?

Erm ... not really.
Can anyone give some advice about a belt case/holster?
I'm thinking on the lines of this type http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00OHFTPXM/ a horizontal case.
But, this don't usually last that long.
So, I was thinking about http://www.amazon.co.uk/Urvoix-Case-Cover-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00S6DQ37W/ a vertical canvas style.
But, I'm unsure using it with a belt and in vertical orientation would it just get in the way, sitting down, driving etc?
I'll probably be buying a case for the phone too.
Any advice please.
Thank you
I used to use belt holsters and cases but problem is this phone is so big the cases look like fanny packs Lol.
With that out of the way, I think the horizontal holders are better for when you sit down.
I'm using a Seidio CAPSA exoskeleton holster in horizontal orientation, with a UAG case. They fit perfectly together. If you search the forums someone on here has posted photos of this combination. If you rotate it to vertical it does get in the way a little when sitting down, so I use it horizontal.

Thank you both very much
I use an Otterbox Defender w/holster & don't have any issues sitting down w/ the phone in the landscape/horizon mode. I do take the phone off my belt in the car to use my Craig's Docks car dock/mount. I think your physique has a lot to do with the comfort of the phone when seated. I also have a horizontal nylon belt pouch I got from Amazon that fits the phone with the Defender case but I've never used it because I've had no problems with the Defender's holster. The nylon pouch would be very useful if you're in a warm climate & it's raining & you're outside a lot.
One thing I really like about the Defender holster is it allows the phone to be placed in the screen out position so I can see/use the screen when it's clipped on my belt (it's of course less protection than screen in but for me the functionality outweighs that). I do agree that the size of the N4 looks like you've got a tablet on your belt, it does look ridiculous but it is what it is.
The Defender is a high quality precision made case IMO and if you buy one online make sure you buy it either directly from Otterbox or directly from Amazon (not a third party reseller) as counterfeiting is rampant with them. Also you have to remove the included plastic screen protector & use something else for clarity & to prevent the constant dirt that accumulates through the opening for the home key w/ the installed screen protector.
I haven't used the exact same one that you listed, but I used a very similar design holster for my gs1 and that fake pleather material wore out pretty quick by the belt area. I can't believe I paid $15 for that. If you want to go vertical, I personally recommend it on the side. Would interfere if worn near the front. Out of those 2, I would say the nylon holster would last longer because of the 1000d cordura nylon, but I can't speak for the overall quality. The stitching might be shoddy and stuff could fall apart easily.
I used the supcase beetle case with holster, but the case and holster broke. The case could not take a huge impact. I wore the holster on my side horizontally and broke the belt clip getting out of the car. I am currently using a cheap otterbox defender type case with holster.

Awesomes x2 Thank you
I think we can close this one now, if needed :good:

iv been using the seido surface for about 6-7 months now and its still working great, spring on the holster still seems as strong as brand new, and its pretty slim compared to the other case+holster combos. it provides plenty of protection, iv dropped my phone at least 10 times since november, each time onto hard surface floors from about waist high (im 5 foot 11), and each time i remove the case to see what damage i caused and surprised to see that my phone itself still it perfect cosmetic condition. no scratches or scuffs anywhere on the edges or corners. phone sits pretty snug into the clip, it has NEVER came off on its own. if something were to go wrong with this case ill definitely buy another one.
Read my thread about Seidio & buying form their online store.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/accessories/dont-want-to-buy-seidios-webstore-t3036913
I have to initiate a chargeback w/ the bank that issued the credit card I used to get a refund. Seidio refunded zero.
Seido's online store is a joke if you have a problem w/ one of their products. By far the worst experience I've ever had purchasing online.
The Surface is a decent case but completely overpriced. Only reason I got one was to turn into the Surface w/ holster which was complete garbage, both the case & the holster. Everytime I moved the phone fell off the beltclip, is was unusable. And yes, I did have the case locked to the beltclip.
For the price Seidio charges for the Surface it should have rocker switch covers at a bare minimum. You can spend a fraction of the cost of a Surface & get a far nicer case.
Best Buy sells the Surface as their Platinum series at half the price Seidio charges.
IMO Seidio = garbage.
Maxpedition
Ever since I starting using tactical pouches with my iPhone 5s, I have continued to do so with my Note 4. I use Maxpedition pouches, as they are made of 1050d ballistic nylon. They are quite excellent.|
When I'm at work, during my food vendering stuff, I use their TC-3 pouch. However, I rock their leg pouch for any other events. Since I run around with no case on my phone except for the leg pouch and the small pouch that my phone and cards slip in, I am quite pleased with the setup. Excellent durability and I can carry my expensive IEMs, wallet, phone, and a couple extras with no problem.
Thank you all for the additional post and information
After a lot of head scratching I ordered the vertical case (2nd link in my OP).
I'll use it as a starting point and try other cases once I get my Note 4 through the post.

Leather Sleeve for S6

I've got a Spigen Neo Hybrid case for my Galaxy S6, and after chucking on a tempered glass onto the front + back of the phone, I just can't keep using the case (the feeling of the phone in my hand is too damn nice).
I've been trying to find a good leather sleeve for my phone, and I've found a few of them below:
(Can't post links because of post limit)
- Etzy Leather Case from JACCET
- Senacases Heritage Ultraslim
I was wondering before I make a purchase (learning towards the senacases one), if anyone has had experience with leather sleeves with their phones before and can recommend a brand/make.
Just looking for a slim leather sleeve with no tags of any kind (branding tags to the sides or magnetic clips at the top).
I have used these pouches from iGadgitz for a number of years on my S3. I also purchased the Neo Hybrid (I like it a lot) as well as the iGadgitz from Amazon. It's a bit tough to get the phone in/out at first but it will stretch out a bit until it's a good fit. The little tag (which basically loops under the phone) makes it very easy to get out.
I find the S6 way too slippery, so more than likely I'll be returing the pouch.
Thanks for that mate, but I was looking for something without tags as I find they catch onto the inside of my pocket too much and ruin the aesthetics.
You can try any sleeve that worked for the gs5. The dimensions are super close, and you won't notice much of a gap. I purchased this Amazon Snugg Pouch and it works well. Not too snug, not too loose. Good protection. It's not the best quality, but for 10 bucks, I can't complain.
I have a good option for ya
You can choose Beyza Case. It is a very high quality product and a bit cheaper than Sena case. However, it is shipped from Turkey (takes a week to arrive in US)
