I am looking for a certain style of case of my TB. I am looking for a "book" or folio style case, in leather. I'm not looking for a holster or any case that the phone must be removed from to use. A book style would have a flap over the screen that open like a book. It would be secured by a snap or magnet.
A cutout for the camera would be a plus but not required. No belt loops, clips or other protruding attachments (unless they can be removed). Screen protection not a requirement (other than the flap when closed).
I only found one online from www.forrte.com

I have no experience with this company.
Any thoughts or opinions of the Forrte cases? My last leather case was a tight fit on my iphone.

About a week ago, I ordered a Case/Holster combo from Amazon. I already had a normal case, but I am a real holster kind of guy. I received it tonight (was apparently in my PO Box since Saturday ) and quickly tore my new toy open. Here are my impressions-
SkyTouch Hard Cover Combo Case Holster for AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket i727 (search this on Amazon to find it)
Cost- $12.98 ($8.99 + $3.99 s&h)
I love this case! Unlike the Otterbox's I had with my iPhones, there is almost no way this phone will fall out of this holster. It is blocked on both sides and the bottom. Comes out from top only. It slides in and out easily, but snug enough that you cant shake it loose. Of course, it sits face-in and the holster has a soft velvet type padding where the screen sits. The holster also serves as a kickstand.
Here is the only complaint/curiosity I have with it- The phone can only sit in the holster with the screen facing in, so the kickstand is pretty much useless. IT does not upset me really. Actually, it made me laugh a little at the oversight/absurdity. Still, this combo is a wonderful setup. I have included some pics for your viewing. I hope this helps someone who might be researching before purchasing a new case.
I ordered the SkyTouch case based on this review and like it. It provides a secure holster without the bulk of an Otterbox Defender.
For those looking for info on cases there is a thread here that discusses various cases.
Edit: The belt clip on the holster part of the case can not be removed but it does swivel allowing the holster to be used vertically or horizontally.
After using this for a couple of weeks I really like it. It is secure when in the holster. The ridged back makes a good grip surface. The snap on case for the phone provides protection but is minimalist in appearance. I feel it makes the phone look better rather than cover it up like a Commuter case does.
Anyone use a leather wallet type case (one that has a compartment for cash/ID/cards) that clips on the belt horizontally? Have done a google and amazone search without fruitful results (one that is available, fits a large 5" phone, etc). That said, what horizontal cases do people recommend? I've always used PDAir but they're on the pricier side.
This is a compact and really good looking design; I was expecting something much more bulky. With the phone inside, the case is no thicker than my Otterbox Defender (my daily case). The case is obviously made of high quality leather; not cheap, but not Napa leather either. The design is pretty unusual in that it has a TPU case inside, attached to the leather. I like this because it provides good protection - there is more than just leather protecting the phone. There are cutouts for the camera and microphone on the rear, which are well sized and placed, and the case closes by means of a magnetic clasp that is easy to open and close. Part of the rear will fold over, so that the case functions as a stand as well. Everything about the case worked well. The case comes with a carrying strap that can be easily removed if desired.
The interior has a slot for ID and three credit cards. There is a place for money, but it is sized to fit the phone length, and so you will have to fold the bills to fit - I don't think you could carry a "wad" of bills there, but it is OK for light use. The TPU case has cutouts at all the right places, and all buttons worked fine.
The only quality question I have is the TPU attachment to the case. It is not sewn in; I suppose it must be glued to the case. It seems sturdy enough, but if there is a weak link in the design, this is it. However, I suspect that if the glue did come off, it could be re-glued again, and in any case with the phone inside the case it won't ever flex at this spot.
The case is a bit pricy, but in my opinion if you want this sort of design, this is a great choice. When I need a more formal case, this is the one I will use.
EDIT: The product is available on Amazon:

good review
Hi there,
Did anyone bought any "Slim Fit" cover ( as the Air Skin from Spigen ) ? How was your experience with those ?
Actually I use ( as I always do ) the Spigen Tough Armour when at work but when I'm off I would like to enjoy the phone a bit more.
What I need is a thick and soft cover. Those on Amazon slips away from the phone even by using the adhesives they provide with or at least this is what I read on the review.
Any suggestions?
The bottom half is pretty standard across the board. The top isn't the most secure, but holds enough for causal use. Not talking about any one specific slim case. They all tend to slide up a bit because there is nowhere to anchor them.
Find one you like and use the spare stickers from the Spigen. Using one of the full body films can help keep it in place, too. Another option is some double sided tape below the screen. If you aren't trying to flip it open like a Zippo, it will stay on.

I have used Spigen cases for years for my candy-bar phones - but for this phone I got a Ringke http://www.ringke.com/site/item.php?id=1&item=1248
It's basically 2 pieces of polycarbonate, and a small raised lip protects the main screen of the phone, as well as the outside. It's maybe 1.5mm raised from the small screen.
First, I haven't dropped it seriously (yet). It took a drop from waist-height onto a tiled floor without a problem - though the thing about falls, is that it does depend on HOW it falls.
Like all the slim cases it doesn't protect the hinge mechanism - but if you are looking for protection there, the case gets a lot thicker - and not sure if the phone would then rest flat on a surface.
I bought the transparent one, then bought the black variant - if you use the flash as a torch, the transparent polycarbonate transmits the beam all across the case...
I was looking for portability with "sufficient" protection, whilst being able to fit into my back pocket (yes, really!).
Because of the phone's form factor, the overall level of protection is fine for me
I bought one and sent it back for one particular reason. It is made of hard plastic, and when folded, it makes weird sound when mobile vibrates. Both hard shells vibrate against each other. Rest it is a sleek cover. SO far I found only the Samsung one to be most useful.
I just bought and tried both the tough armor and air skin. I sent the tough armor back.
Zero issues with case halves sliding on or off. Everything seems firm and secure. I really like the air case. Just enough for some protection and a better grip.
The tough armor completely ruined the zflip experience for me. Turned it into way to thick of a brick. At that point I'd prefer a candy bar phone.
Hope that helps OP.
