Hi everyone!
I recond is as excited about the nexus 5 is. Comming from a galaxy s3 i'm fed up with TW and Samsung not enabling full support to exynos processors. However i've grown fond of the function to be able to block calls and sms, right through TW.
When I was browsing one the availability on the nexus 4 a while back seveal post mentioned that nexus 4 and android 4.3 vanilla didn't have this
Function. Now with a updated caller app I was wondering wheter any of you guys now if this will work on nexus 5 without third party app

I do not believe it is included in the new dialer app. I would recommend Mr Number from the play store which works great.

I have galaxy s but it's just regular sms. If you are talking about the widget, it's part of Touchwiz launcher
I'm looking for this as well since the one built into my Evo is slow. I love it but it's slow. The Galaxy S/Droid X have the best ones IMO since it's basically stock but with chat bubbles.
inb4 "use handcent", it kept my phone awake so I'm not touching it anymore.

Another SMS app that has the iphone style view is ChompSMS.
I've been using it on my EVO since I ran into issues with handcent.
I know it's not exactly the answer you're looking for, but it's always worth a shot suggesting something "similar"
Hello.
I was wondering if there is a TouchWiz 5 ROM available for the Nexus S. No themes or launchers, but a full on ROM. I saw one but it had no wifi, and I need wifi. Are there any scattered about the web? Thanks.
None that I know of. TW5 is badly enough optimised for the device it was made for, I doubt you'd find a good version for the old nexus s

Hello,
I'm looking for the App & Widget from S Planner wich is coming from de Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 3 for the Nexus 5.
Beceause i'm loving this app & widget, but i can't find him for my phone...
Thnx for reading, and sorry for my bad english!
Greetz,
Marco
Sorry but the app requires Samsung's framework, in other words you wouldn't be able to install it on your Nexus 5..
Perhaps a 3rd party alternative via play store.

Why on earth does someone want samsung "bloatware" on his google device ? I'm so happy that I finally ditched my S3 !
Use Google Keep instead or ColorNotes !
//edit
BTW You can speak your notes to google now and he will record that, pretty neat Google voice works great !
How many times is this covered. Do a search and you will find hundreds of threads.

Google it, i think i remember seeing that app but it was for the galaxy nexus so it may be older version but would show its possible. Look threw galaxy nexus thread
Pure Grid Calendar Widget is by far the best option I found.

Calengoo is my favourite calendar app by miles and it comes with widgets. It does not look the best but it functions brilliantly. I used to use it on my note 2.

Just received the phone yesterday. right at startup the phone updated to 4.4.1 (yes, not 4.4.2) and updated all relevant apps.
I then started to play with it a bit, and immediately sensed glitches and lags. Scrolling through photos in gallery, scorlling to the widget zone in the drawer (using nova launcher) or scrolling through feed in google+ - lags.
I compared it to my nexus 4 on same gallery pictures scrolling, browser scrolling and so on, and in all, my nexus 4 was smoother.
Actually, I had almost no lags with my nexus 4 the entire year off (worth mentioning Im using a custom rom, but didnt see no lags or glitches on my moms phone too)
For a second I was afraid I have a hardware problem. so I tested it on antutu. I scored 18k-24k, which was less then all of flagships phones (htc one, s4 etc..) my nexus 4 scores 20k.
I know all are cheating on antutu, and I dont give it to much importance. but lags? serieosly? How can it be?
I'll appreciate some comments and your impressions and suggestions.
Refund it

Cant RMA currently. would like to know whether it is a software of hardware problem.
I find a repreducable situation in which my nexus 5 lags dramatically and nexus 4 and nexus 7 do not:
I enter images of HD wall papers and scroll through them. my nexus 5 really struglles replacing pictures while nexus 4 and nexus 7 are swiping between extremly smoothly. I checked it on both chrome and dolphin. same outcome. very smooth transition on nexus 4 and 7, very very lagy transition on the nexus 5
nexus 5 has 4.4.1
nexus 4 has 4.3
nexus 7 has 4.4
Any help tyring to figuring out where the probelm comes from will be highly appriciated.
Any help?
Can you guys enter the link with your phones, swipe through pictures and tell me if you feel any lag?
Nexus 4 or 5
Now after reading this , littl confusion whether to go for nexus 4
Hey guys,
So a few days ago I flashed the flashable version of Google's Android L OS and it's great! Today I stretched my love by purchasing a Google Chromecast (from a Australian retailer due to living in Australia!) And a major selling point was the fact that I could now mirror my device! But this function doesn't seem to work as demonstrated at the I/O or anywhere else! Is this function still in development for Android L or am I missing something?
Keep in mind streaming YouTube has no issue, just mirror!
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know that's still being developed on L. The Chromecast however is a wonderful device. I have 2 of them myself congrats on your purchase. L is a nice OS but it does have plenty of bugs. The basic Android functions work well but rooted apps caused a bootloop and half of the apps crash. I HIGHLY recommend not using it as a primary driver, and instead install MultiROM if you haven't already.
Seeing a stupid comment on Google Play about an app you love and marking it as "spam". You've done it too.
Thanks for the reply. I am using as daily driver Haha and no problems so far I'm currently using 1 rooted app (adaway) and everything seems fine
Very happy with results and will check out multiROM now
