Battery life on custom roms is...bad. I have the dock plugged in most of the time so I don't really notice that often.
I'd say i get a single days worth of usage out of it. When you root you have too backup all your apps and then restore them, which can be acheived with apps on the play store.

Ok so i will keep the asus rom..
I have fount a way not to need nvcplsvc . this is an application that optimise kernel and cpu ( yes it run on original rom ) i changed the governor to conservative ... It makes the tablet a lil bit lower but i can stay 8 hours in full use and screen in full light. When i play a game i put the ondemand..
I have read everywhere thats impossible... But it is
I must admit the tablet crashed the first time.. But after restart i can change the governors as i want..
It cant change the max and min cpu ( the 3 asus modes keep the control ) but changing the governor makes the battery life 50% better than my previous issue.
For customising themes icons etc i use xposed framework and differents modules.. This is awesome app !
I use the framework on my galaxys 2 too with cyanogenmod 4.2
Thank to have answered me ... Youre just the only one and sorry for my bad english

Flash with odin. It will not increase custom download count!
The kernel should be flashed trough cwm (if installed or not odin will not replace it). You can also flash it trough the terminal or adb.
No apps added, just a clean rom. Don't ask to include apps.
If you need/want an app get some kind of root explorer and add it yourself.
The usual disclaimer applies. Use at your own risk.
You are encouraged to use this as your base rom and cook things into it.

It's not tested. It's deodexed and optimized so it might not work, I've uploaded the stock keyboard too in case you want it. Anyway I hate touchwiz way more than stock gingerbread so don't expect many touchwiz things to last forever in this rom.
i had use this rom & switch back to stock rom with odin coz i didn't find any difference in it...just delete some stock application..we can delete in with root explorer & link2sd...come with some another idea bro...speed is same as stock rom...some games r lagging in this ROM...
Please dont mind...just a feedback as user
Games lag because of the crappy cpu and gpu.I'm still in exams so I don't have many time to add features. The real feature would be an stock ics rom for this phone. Even the cheap live walkman has ics, samsung on the other hand doesn't care about it's users.
u r right bro...it should have stock ics rom...

Are you confortable with adb? If so you can flash system.img trough recovery and adb. I currently don't use cwm so I can't properly test the update.zip itself but I might create an update.zip and upload it for you to test.

New update: I was angry, threw my phone against the wall. This broke while doing so:
* sim card slot (no more 2g/3g data)..no signal whatsoever
* sd card slot damaged, not completely dead
* camera engine is messed
Therefor: I quit developing/updating the roms I have ported/made so far. Everyone (including other MTK porters, and everyone else who could use my roms) is allowed to take my rom, modify it, re-upload it (if you edited it ofcourse) and all other stuff you wish to throw at the roms. If you do, please quote me in the credits...you know..the usual...

The roms that are not suitable for daily use will not be uploaded! This is so I can take my time to work on them, without people asking for bugfixes or anything. Also, if you want to mod or port my rom to your device; please ask first!
Here's what you need to do to install any of these roms:
Install CWM recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39293790&postcount=2
Place the rom.zip on external SD card
Wipe data/cache/dalvik
Install rom
press thanks
As always, let the Rom settle for about 48 hours. Don't expect the rom to be at best when you just flashed it.
If you encounter a problem with my roms, I'm happy to help. But please, be specific with the problem you have: what did you do (the steps you took untill the problem occured),what rom, all the stuff that might help.
Disclaimer
Ok I put it here because I have to. Upon flashing my rom on your phone, or doing anything root related with your phone; you have void your warranty!
I am not responsible if you brick your device, but I will help as much as possible to get your device in working order.

I haven't made the 'Rom' available for download yet. I'm testing if I can make a flashable zip first.
If that works, I will make a zipped rom, that's easier to install, and it's more...well then it looks more like a rom isn't it?
subscribe to the thread, I'll upload it shortly!

Great News!
Better Camara and Batt is priority for this moment, for me is important too better Manager of Storage Memory and SD Card, anyway great job. For my conclusion i have Dual SIM and batt working the same for one SIM or two. I dont use games, but phone and apps working smooth. Great GPS (30 sec with Maps), Sound :good: and i need little more option in Setting (like in CM) for example wakeup phone with Volume Button
How do you mean better memory management? As in, more free memory, or faster app loading and such? I've put in a few tweaks for that too, i might make a list. As for screenshots, ill make some in a moment and upload it

Cwm is really hard to do. I'm not a developer at all. Also this is an mtk phone, not very popular in dev land bacause there are so many phones for it. Your best bet is to ask CM directly at this point.

[GUIDE]Tricks & tweaks to improve looks and speed of your Android

Hi guys, today I'm posting some great tips tweaks and tricks for ROOTED Android phone which I've tested on Karbonn A1 plus. These should work in almost any phone as they are mostly not device specific. And I've tried them all on my device which means there are next to no chances of damaging your device.
This guide includes the following :-
1.Change the look and feel of your device (Includes CWM method and the new Lucky Patcher method)
2.Run temple run and such games on Karbonn A1+ (and other low-end Chinese phones) and increase overall performance by increasing the RAM.
3.Change the boot animation of your device.
4.Change the fonts of your device.
5.Supercharge the phone with some great tweaks (credits =zeppelinrox=)
6.Some handy tweaks using xposed modules to further customise your phone and improve performance suit your needs.
BEFORE I POST THE TRICKS I'LL HAVE TO WARN YOU, AS A FORMALITY THAT ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR DEVICE IN ANY WAY DIRECT OR INDIRECT DUE TO THIS POST SHALL BE SOLELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
READ ANY FURTHER ONLY IF YOU AGREE TO THIS.
Okay, so let's start !!!
1.Changing the status bar of your phone Go here
2. Improve performance
Use Roehsoft Ram Expander (download from attachments) to create a swapfile and use it to increase your phone's RAM.This will provide you with some extra RAM and you will be able to run games like
Temple Run Oz,Temple Run Brave,Temple Run 2,NFS Shift and several others.
I have tested and found all these games running on my phone although sometimes there was a bit of a lag in temple run , but I guess that's acceptable
You'll see 2 empty fields after u launch the app and select the language. The Size field determines the size of the file that Ram Expander will create to provide you with extra RAM. Simply put this means
that the number u type in here will be the no. of extra MBs of RAM you'll get. Remember though that I won't recommend a value bigger than 1024 as almost all apps will do fine with this much RAM.
Also the better your SD Card is the better your performance will be. A class 4 Sd card is the bare minimum and class 6 or higher is highly recommended.
Experiment with ur own values in the swap file size and Swappiness fields.
However these are a few settings that work best for me.
Swap file size = 820 (which gives a total of 204 820 = 1024 MB RAM)
Swappiness = 85
Auto run enabled.
I'd also recommend that you used the CPU control option in rom toolbox pro to underclock the processor to save battery.
Another recommended app is Titanium backup which helps you efficiently and automatically backup the data and the apk of your apps along with allowing you to uninstall bloatware.
3.Changing the boot animation of your phone.
First understand what a boot animation is - It is the animation which is displayed after the company logo in our case after the Karbonn smart logo.
To change it first download ROM Toolbox Pro from the play store. I would recommend that you bought the app as the developer well deserves it.
Now go to the interface tab and click on boot animations . Press the menu key and click install location.
Change it to /system/etc/oem/ and put the filename as bootanimation.zip.
Now download any of the several boot animations from within rom toolbox pro. After download they'll be saved to /mnt/sdcard/romtoolbox/bootanimations/here.
To install one of them just go to the local tab in boot animations, browse to the above folder touch the desired boot animation and click install.
On the next reboot you'll see that boot animation after the karbonn smart logo.
4. Changing the fonts
Bored with the default fonts huh ???
Give this a spin ...
Launch rom toolbox pro and go to the fonts installer option in the interface tab. Click on this option and after a while you'll see a list of fonts which u can preview and install at choice.
You can also search and download different fonts from the internet and browse to them in the local tab and select the install option.
After you do this you'll be asked to reboot and voila !! you have changed your device's fonts.
5.Supercharge your phone and squeeze every bit of performance out of it
I want to make it clear that this is not my creation and all the credit goes to =zeppelinrox=.
Download SManager from the attachments.
Go to this thread : v6 supercharger and download the Supercharger Starter kit (you'll need it) also download the latest v6 Supercharger BlackDog update (NOT V8 supercharger).
Extract the Supercharger Starter kit zip and run Startmeup.sh with SU permissions (touch the script file click on the second (pirate like) icon and click run).
This will install all the necessary components needed to run the V6 supercharger. This will also install zipalign and sqlite binaries which are great help too.
Follow the instructions given on the forum and you'll do just fine.
You can also try this 3G turbocharger script again by =zeppelinrox= although I didn't notice much of a difference but the results may vary from place to place and from carrier to carrier so give it a try too.
6.Some handy tweaks using xposed modules
1.Download the xposed framework installer for Gingerbread from the attachments.
2.Go to the Framework section and click Install/Update.The phone will reboot.
3.After reboot go to the Downloads section and download the modules you want (decide by reading the give description). Install the modules and then go to the Modules section and check mark all the modules.Reboot.
4.Now u can launch these modules from the app drawer and tweak the way they behave and work by changing the settings.
Here I'm posting some links to pages with great kernel tweaks and a page which contains a really nice booster engine. Enjoy .....
Info on kernel and the CPU (includes tweaks as well)
Spl engine (to boost performance)
Congratulations !!!! you've just tweaked your phone to give you all the performance and beauty the hardware below that screen can afford to.
If you have a problem, post it here and I'll come back to you as soon as I can.
Also if you want to post the information in this thread anywhere else you are free to do it. Just make sure that you give me due credit and provide a link directing to this thread.

DON'T FORGET TO HIT THANKS.
Here are some mods and scripts that I found working well and which serve some commonly needed purposes (speeding the phone) . None of these have been created by me but by the people on xda itself. My sole aim here is to let more and more people know about these works.
1 . The Pure Performances Mod by Jeeko and team.
Find it here .
2. Universal init.d installer by Ryuinferno to get init.d support on phones where its not present (proves really useful)
Get it here
3. The Great Dash-M by Mya SeR - people running ics and above, keep in mind that this mod REPLACES the build.prop by Dash.prop so your build.prop customizations won't work.
Get it
More to come .....

Swappiness = 85

Hi everybody,
Here is a link to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2629167 which has all the different status bars, ROMS and other handy and useful mods for Karbonn A1 . Be sure that all the status bars mentioned in this thread are safe as I've tried them all.

I don't have a Facebook id. Tell me what happened here as it may help several others. Also I check this thread at least twice daily so this would be a much better option.

These tweaks can be used on any phone as they are not related to a particular kernel or os version. You will be able to safely try these with the least chances of damaging your phone. Enjoy ........
Good work, but there is 1 thing amiss here. The kernel. These tweaks may bring out some performance but not as much as a custom kernel. Tweaking/flashing a custom kernel is like tweaking a car engine, its where you can mostly decide how your phone will act. Just pointing that out, so people don't ignore the facts.

Thanks for the suggestion. I too thought about including some kernel tweaks and even some relating to the CPU but I felt that there already are several guides that are far better than what I could write (I've learnt all I know about kernel tweaks from them) already present on xda so it'd be just repitition writing them again. Also I didn't find a very large difference being made by the tweaks (except a few). I originally created this thread to introduce a new method (the lucky patcher method) to change status bars but included some basis tweaks to make it a bit more helpful for newcomers. Anyways thanks for the suggestion. Maybe if some more people mention that they'd like to see some io scheduler and kernel tweaks in this thread I'll include some.

I'm running stock. I tried xperia rom, green wrapper, vaibhavs rom, deadspace, destro A1, bluebean, revnart smoke. , ultra v1, (u see I've tried all the roms available for karbonn A1 but NONE worked) I even tried backing up and restoring but that didn't help either. I also tried restoring chetans backup which didn't help me either. I think that the version of recovery is not for s/w 2.1.3. Whenever flashing failed o had to take the phone to the service center. Any help or suggestion ?
By the way I remember u said you're in a problem ? What's that and how can I help you?
Since this is a general thread for tricks and tweaks. Please talk about kernels and cpu or you can attach the links. So we can get all in one..

I don't know why but I'm unable to type more than 3 new characters in the first post. I'll try to find a reason for this but if I don't get one I'll post the new tricks and extra info (regarding kernel tweaks) in a new post. Thanks for the suggestions.
Hi everybody. I have posted 2 new links as many people suggested that I include some kernel and CPU tweaks too. I couldn't type what I wanted in the first post due to some restrictions by xda so I've just added the links. Hope that helps. Check them out in the first post and Enjoy ...

htc chacha cm11 latest bug report

This is my first thread in xda . I've been flashing roms and participating in various rom development by testing and reporting bugs since 2 years with various devices like Xperia x8 ,Galaxy s3 mini , HTC desire C , and finally HTC Chacha . Well now am here for reporting the bugs for HTC Chacha using cm11 and also to tell you how this rom is amazingly wonderful for daily use.( You can found the rom in the original thread
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2767332
all credits to developers .)
Well first thing first
1 : CyanogenMod 11 works like a charm in HTC Chacha , great work by the developers, thanks to all the devs for making this dream come true:good::good::good:
2 : The device is so responsive and muti-tasking is a piece of cake .
3 : The UI and the interface is so slick and nice and is well build up for daily use , almost everything works fine
Well the Bugs are
1 : boot animation takes almost 50 sec ,well sometimes even more , 2: low memory warning even though it have plenty (disappears after a reboot anyway ::angel
3 : volume button - wake device- feature don't do anything after deep sleep , 4 : when cropping for wallpaper in Nova launcher , the device reboots for no apparent reason ( well it reboots with the new wallpaper even though )
5: sometimes wifi networks are not detected /shows even though its working in other devices ( works after you 'FORGET THE NETWORK AND WAIT FOR SEARCHING AGAIN )
these are the bugs i noted on the go, still now , (The rom is flashed few times to test the recurring behavior of the bugs , and of course before posting here , without these silly bugs , the cm11 rocks big time !!!!! :good::good::good: I hope a new update soon , which is the very reason for posting here .:silly:
thank you , devs for the development and supports , cheers :good::good::good:
please hit thank button if i helped

OK , i never came across a problem like this , but here is the deal , you just revert back to your original rom , ie , the original software comes with htc chacha using the flash tool , all you need is a original rom ,
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644087
try this link
Go Google type - " HTC CHACHA new life " , then a site named http bernaerts.dyndns.org will show up , follow the instructions
do as the sites says , the steps in this site is much easier for beginners also. :good:
either download the cm10.1 which is great or download cm11 , its up to you ,
all credits goes to the admin who posted the forum and the developers behind the ROM

Battery drain is a common issue among legacy devices, here are some tips to limit battery drain
1. limit the working of background apps , you can do that by following these steps
go to -" development option "and change background process to "at-most two " ,
2. disable any funky animation and transition pattern
3.use a minimalistic launcher , like Smart launcher ,
4.Avoid live wallpapers , and use display in Auto brightness,
5.clear background processes after use ,
6.restart the device every day which keeps device fresh , and use some cache memory cleaner - Try DU battery saver , or History Eraser in Google play.
these are some steps you can do , remember Less RAM usage = More Battery , you can also refer to my other post which describes which uses scripts like supercharger to reduce RAM consumption , Good Luck.
please hit thank button , if helped
Dear ashmeister,
Thanks for you input. Few of the steps (limit background process, brightness...) have already tried. And it does prolong battery life for few more minutes.
How-ever, presently I'm back on my modded stock rom.
Regards,
RJS.

Dear Ashmeister,
Have already tried superOSR last year. Its very stable and supports A2SD too. Yes battery drains ls less. But I like the features which stock sense gives (green button dial, red button call end etc) which are absent in superOSR. Thus after using the same for 2-3 months, switched back to Stock.
And presently on modified stock rom.
However, thank you very much for your time & suggestion.:good:
Regards,
RJS
you must try the app called - dialer2 from f-droid .
regards,
ashmeister
