upgrade from Foyo? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hello All,
I still have my trusty Infuse I-997, running 2.2 Froyo.
Is it possible to update to Jelly Bean? I'm beginning to have troubles running apps...the latest is my youtube no longer works after the latest YouTube version update.
The phone is rooted.
Thanks for the help

I do not understand how people can apparently be capable of reading, find the forum for their device, decide which category to post their question, and not accidentally read something that makes them think that if they read just a little bit they wouldn't need to ask!!!

Thank you

update question

im fairly new to the Android. been on a jailbroken iphone for years but was offered a free upgrade to the htc one s. after getting i saw a video showing off jelly bean. after a couple months of waiting for new gave up and rooted and installed the cyanogenmod 10 nightly. and then the following week tmobile released this new update 4.0.4 and sense 4.1. the cm10 works great and on my phone everything that i use works great..so really my question is should i go thru the trouble of trying to go back to stock to update or is the cm10 jelly bean better? please and thank you

Official U.S. ICS ROM released yet?

As the title says, just wondering if the official US rom has been released yet OTA or otherwise. I think (pretty sure) I'm running the U.K. version right now and I only have 1 minor problem which is the reminder to setup software updates doesn't work. Also, I'm thinking about giving this tablet to my GF for Christmas and getting the Galaxy Tab 7.7 for myself for the better screen.
Thanks for the help!
Bump?
If you're asking if Samsung issued an upgrade to ICS for the 7.0 Plus in the US, the answer is yes. AFAIK, it had to be installed using Kies.
I can confirm this, I just updated my tab yesterday via kies and it's now in ICS 4.04
OK cool. I'll flash back to stock and do an upgrade to the official
On a side note, I also followed the root instructions under the CWM 6.0 thread in development and it still works :good:

[Q] Picking up a refurb Xoom (Wifi) - how best to update, unlock, install ROM?

Hi all,
I am receiving a factory refurbished Wifi-only Xoom next week. I am guessing that it will be on 3.0, and I'd like to bring it up to the latest JB and install a custom rom (probably EOS 3 for the moment, then EOS 4 at the next MR).
What's the best procedure for this? Should I take OTA updates up to 4.1.2, then unlock, root and install a ROM? Or should I just unlock, root and flash a ROM from the start, i.e. skipping the OTA updates? Or does it not really matter?
Thanks in advance.

Not really answering your question, just an opinion .....
Why not just leave it on OTA 4.1.2? Unless you have a real need to unlock or some pressing need for 4.2. In my experience the difference between 4.1.2 and 4.2 is insignificant. EOS 3 is conceivably a back step on the OTA updates. Continually updating for updating's sake is fine if that is your hobby (and that is why you are here in these forums), but it might not achieve much. And you could replace a smooth stable 4.1.2 with a buggy and laggy 4.2 - for what?
If there is some app or function you need that requires root or a custom rom then that is a different story.
I am awaiting a refub MZ604 myself so I share you impulse, but I am taking a wait and see approach and giving it some thought.

Hey, thanks a lot for your advice. I wasn't so much counting on jumping ahead to 4.2 just yet, so I'm with you there.
Regarding a 4.1.1 ROM vs the 4.1.2 OTA, I had thought (just based on my personal experience with other Android devices, my Razr in particular) that a nice 4.1.1 ROM like EOS 3 would outperform stock, even a version that is one minor update ahead, since the ROM would (presumably) be optimized, free of bloatware, etc. Perhaps that's not a big issue with the Xoom?
Again, thanks. I'll probably take your advice and see how things go with 4.1.2 OTA for a while.
Interestingly, the refurbished Xoom came with 4.1.2 pre-loaded. I wasn't expecting that. Seems to be running fine.
Mine arrived today. It only took 11 days to cross the world. An MZ604 GED device. Came with 4.04 then promptly updated itself to 4.1.1 then a few minutes later it upgraded itself to 4.1.2. It is pure Android and runs fast and smoothly.
More than happy with this refurb - it looks brand new and 4.1.2 is new enough.

[Q] New OS for Blu Advance 4.0

I know the phone is older but it's what I have right now. It works well and is running Jellybean 4.2.2.
Is there a new version of Android that I can upgrade this phone too? If so is there a guide? I'm a complete newb when it comes to this. I don't even know how to root the phone, I know I need to do that but that's about it.
Thanks,
