I know the phone is older but it's what I have right now. It works well and is running Jellybean 4.2.2.
Is there a new version of Android that I can upgrade this phone too? If so is there a guide? I'm a complete newb when it comes to this. I don't even know how to root the phone, I know I need to do that but that's about it.
Thanks,

Hey guys, I've been looking for a ROM that couuld suite my Android H6. I've got an MTK6515 with Froyo 2.2 and I will like to update it to 2.3. Since it is similar to HTC Magic or MyTouch 3G i've went trough ROMS for it but they didn't work. I've also tried ROMS for the HTC Hero but they couldn't work. So I'm just asking, is there anyone who could help me do something with my H6, in order to update it to Gingerbread 2.3? I am alredy rooted.

Hello, I am new to the forums and new to rooting and unlocking androids. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2X SGH-T989D From Koodo, thats rooted with clockwork 5.0 something, and android os 4.0.4. I was looking for a ROM for a newer os, something like 4.2 or 4.3. I tried installing a few off the internet and none of them work. It would help to put up what kind of Android version you're on. Just simply putting your kernel version doesn't help at all.

Dude, you ARE on Jelly Bean. Android 4.1.x - 4.3.x is all Jelly Bean.
As for changing the kernel version, there isn't much of a choice for Android 4.1.2. You'd have to root it and use a different Android version if you really want a different kernel version (doesn't matter honestly).
Read about rooting and unlocking boot loader , flashing a Rom, and updating your bootloader (modem). I like 4.1.2 Roms, Obsessed Rom, TKRom, Clean 7 Rom, and Synergy. Each have themes that are great. Read up on rooting, unlocking boot loader, flashing Rom and changing basebands BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ON YOUR DEVICE. Each carrier and model is not the same so make sure you only follow directions for your specific device model and carrier, if not you will most likely have a paperweight. Good Luck.
Lean kernel , KT747, and a few others have 4.1.2 kernels available.

I do not understand how people can apparently be capable of reading, find the forum for their device, decide which category to post their question, and not accidentally read something that makes them think that if they read just a little bit they wouldn't need to ask!!!
Thank you
Hey guys Im new to the developing thing and I need a help because I'm really confused at the moment. So basically, I have Samsung Galaxy S II LTE, SGH-I727 Rogers version, and it has android version of 4.0.4. It's rooted with a cyanogenmod9. And now I want to upgrade it to cyanogenmod 10 or even 11, but i guess first i have to get the android version 4.1.2 . So I'm curious if i do a software update, and upgrade it to android version 4.1.2 will I loose my root?? and will I be still able to root it to Cyanogenmod 10 or 11?? Or i don't know, maybe you might suggest me something useless in order to update my old phone.
Thanks,
Looking forward to get useful information.
