Undervolting our Note 3: - Galaxy Note 3 General

I think that could be a good idea to post the lower voltages that are stable for our devices.
And post the CPU bin for see how much it affects the voltages.
Binning info can be found at /d/acpuclk/pvs_bin
PD: I can't post mine yet...

No, depending of the binning your CPU has a different voltage values.

That looks seriously undervolted, I've never heard of a microprocessor operating in the .7V range! Whats your bin number?
Also, what frequency are you stable at 1.4V? Based on this table you should be able to break 3GHz!

I have bin 3.
2,5 GHz and 2'7 GHz aren't tested at that voltage, so don't pay attention on it.

And I really enjoy reading such interesting information
I test the stability with an app that force all the cores with a hard load, so I think it is fine.
If you want to try undervolting just install a custom kernel and have fun x'D
What is your bin ?
PD: I have posted the same thread in the T-Movile Note 3, where there are more people participating... If you are interested.

/d/acpuclk/pvs_bin is missing?
If you are on Kitkat navigate to /sys/devices/system/soc/soc0/soc_pvs with root explorer and open that with the text viewer.
If you are on JB still it is located at /d/acpuclk/pvs_bin
Because these threads come up as the first Google results for checking cpu bin of a note 3, here's some updated information (had to dig forever)

You need it to go even higher with the MHz or, and that is really important, to adjust the maximum voltage. I don't like the feelin of not knowing how high the voltage is set ;-) Download the beta and set it to 1000MHz and 56 vsel. That worked fine for me...

The highest I've gotten mine was 1250 with 80 vsel. Any frequency after that only makes the device completely slow and unusable. So I think it may be a hardware limitation - which would explain the variance in maximum clocks from device to device.

nope.. simply it only changes some values of the original pegasusQ governor, overclock is a feature of the modded kernel witch has the correct code in its modules
so, no modules no oc
btw, 4 cores at 1.6ghz is not a common situation, so, an overclock could only increase the consuption since 1 core goes to an OC value witch is to high..
you have to know, more is the freq, more and more is the power consuption
a simply ex, 1 dualcore at X freq absorbs less energy than 1 core at 2X freq.. but, the real teorical computation power is the same..
multithreading is to prevent high battery drain caused by too high freqs
Any feedback?

I never saw unstable power while charging.. maybe you have some issues with cable..
anyway only kernel mod can change modules, so, only kernel mod could do what you would
It's only a setting
i have a problem with my note 2... extremly slow charging...
i try a lot of solution....
the only that work probly is to use moded kernel and use stweak or any other control kernel app for ignore unstable power

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 Exynos - Unofficial SlimLP ROM Beta
View attachment 3717606
As per title, SM-N900 Exynos with the Unofficial SlimLP ROM available in the Exynos Developer Section. While I like this ROM, I am having a problem with notifications and it appears as though development has slowed/stopped for this particular release, and for SlimLP in general. Looking forward to trying Safarend's updated CM12 and/or CM13 builds.
FYI the processor in this phone is the Exynos 5 Octa 5420 (big.LITTLE configuration with 4 ARM Cortex A15's at 1.9 Ghz and 4 ARM Cortex A7's at 1.3 Ghz), the Mali-T628 MP6 at 480 Mhz, and 3GB of LPDDR3e RAM. It's a hell of a lot of machine, and although the 5420 supports HMP yet leaves it unabled, it runs pretty quickly for an older phone, as the benchmark shows. I'm hoping that there is renewed interest in keeping these phones going for international markets, as it would be a cinch to snag a bunch of them, install modded firmware and resell them...
Thanks for reading, go XDA!
Are you butt hurt? Stop crying over silly mistakes. A polite reminder woulda been cool. Not a nooob here just don't say much. Watch and learn more . note 3 was 8 years back. Good school project.

Manjew Kernel for Android 7.1.2

Hello fellow Redmi Note 4 users,
I'm slightly happy to present to you an experimental kernel for our SNAPDORAGON devices. This is a personal project based on my ideas and preference about what a kernel needs and does not need. But, I thought I'd share this out with the rest of you all since I'm happy with the performance of this one and figured I might as well contribute to a great phone.
Also, please bear with my future sluggish updates and lack of fixes as I'm very new to kernel stuff. (My knowledge comes from Google-Fu).
Moving on with the disclaimer:
I am not responsible for any intent AND attempt to suck compensation out of me whether by your own actions or mine (unlikely since I test my **** first). The disclaimer meme in Eks Dee Ayy is done to death so I'll spare you the cringe. You have been warned.
My sources are public and free for all to use, if you feel you can do it better than me then please do.
So what makes this kernel different from others? Nothing, I just took commits and merged the working ones.
I believe that minimal interference is good, a good device does not need 1001 "options" to choose from for best battery life + performance. Following Franco's footsteps, I just made necessary patches + features that I feel is important for the device and development.
Changelog:
Built with GCC 6.3 Toolchain (A53 targeted)
TCP default set to Westwood
CPU boost modifications
F2FS stuff
Adreno idler
Power suspend driver
KCAL colour control driver
Anything else please just read the source's commits, provided you understand half the stuff they talk about.
Download link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=20964#downloads
This has been tested on:
The latest build of AEX.
Things I won't add:
Overclock (Yes smoking makes you feel good but it harms your health so why bother? Same goes for OC)
Governors (Unless I see good documentation, Interactive and its tweaks works perfectly)
Hotplugs (Right now the default is fine, I'll see if i can find more updated ones that improves on it)
Schedulers (See Hotplugs)

I ran out of thanks to give(daily limit)
Well just realised I thanked earlier on but I just wanted to emphasize the thanks so here i am
Happy to see a custom kernel for our device. Some devs first start building kernels to the phone's stock Android version, then they go to its latest. But you really are fast. +1 for your contribution to this device
##feature-request##
Please try to add fast charge support!!thats the only feature missing on our mido?

It is not recommended to use fast charge on Mido because the hardware is not ready for it. Even though the snapdragon 625 does support it the charging port and motherboard are going to be harmed in the long run.

Yes it's not a big deal, it's as harmless as disabling animation

Hi!
How can I check if my Mi5S Plus is affected by this problem too? Some app from Play Store can show me the cores behavior?
I'm having some issues when playing games or even when the phone heats up when charging. The UI become very slow and some games unplayable.
Thanks in advance!
CPU-z
You probably are using the latest MIUI stable ROM, some people are saying that downgrading to previous versions of MIUI 9 solved that problem, or even change the ROM to a custom one.
This CPU is not well optimized for gaming.

I'm using 9.5.2.0, labeled as "Global 9.5 Stable", so I guess that you are right.
I'm CPU-Z the cores 2 and 3 are always in "stopped" mode, while 0 and 1 have number values and are changing everytime.
I would like to keep MIUI because I use dual apps. I will investigate how to downgrade. Thank you!

There are a few versions of MIUI 9 in beta that maintain all cores active, but it's mainly a bug. S821 uses big little / small little witch causes cores to shut down when not in heavy use. How every OEM writes their OS or kernel to deliver that switch is at their own liking. MIUI 9 prefers battery life thus agresivly shutting down cores. If you want to test this, install AnTuTu and you will get around 140k score with 2 cores switching of. And then install sod killer from play store and run the benchmark again, you should receive 30k + score boost at the cost of heat battery life and probably worse thermal throttle

CPU-Z always reported 2 cores stopped, BUT Kernel Adiutor & SystemPanel2 reported that all cores IS WORKING...
Maybe CPU-Z is moron?

So, in your opinion, is it a bug to keep all the cores active?
In that case, do you think it's a good idea to change the kernel for one that put all the cores on work?
Thanks in advance
