I have random reboots, I tried removing the SIM and SD card but it didn't help.
Reboots are completely random, I've attached a picture of the log file below.
Sensation has never been rooted before and is on stock rom and kernel.
I don't understand the log, but couple things to do;
-Make sure battery is firmly on the spot. (Usually this causes reboots)
-Try another ROM, see if reboots occur

The battery isn't the problem.
It's on STOCK ROM and KERNEL. The device has been replaced but the problem still occurs.

It seems to me that your 2nd CPU core might be the culprit, altough i dont fully understand the log either...
Are you able to call CPU intense programs like antutu Benchmark without having a reboot? Well, i think you can, since you say they are completely random!? But give it a shot to cut things down...

Why are our sensations rebooting like crazy these days?At first, I thought it was just my phone, but soon realized everyone has the same issue.
No matter what ROM I install, my phone turns off randomly. Whats going on? Someone please help if they have a solution cos I am seriously beginning to hate my sensation.
It has been about a year since most sensations were bought...
That's 500 charging cycles and for some batteries that's enough
Take your battery out and see if it got swollen or some liquid oily marks are visible, or even tiny silvery cracks.. those indicate the battery is dying.

Could this reboots be caused by bad radio or firmware? I am getting them too, pretty often and the story is same - different roms, nothing changed.
Have you tried This or This?

Need more information. Are you overclocking too high? Undervolting? Flashing back and forth between kernels without reverting some of the files they change? Mixing 3.32/3.33 firmwares and ROMs? Matching radio/RIL combos? Restoring old data through Titanium Backup? There's a whole bunch of stuff that could cause reboots TBH.
Have you tried running stock (firmware, kernel, ROM, radio) for a few days to see if the reboots keep coming? If they do, then it's your hardware and you should look into warranty if you still have one. If not, then it's something you're doing during your setup process.
I've just been running rooted stock ICS lately and my phone has been incredibly stable. I did get some reboots last week, but it turns out they were caused by the recent update to Google Maps. I uninstalled the updates and the problem went away.
Had mine a year and never had reboot issues!
You know what I love most about this thread?
The complete lack of usefull information like logcats, last_kmsg, and other logs as well as kernel info, firmware info, UV status/OC status.
@OP get those things then we can help more
My guess is you've updated your gmaps. Anything that uses any oart of gmaps/location service is fubared on the last update.
Thanks guys for the replies. Well as suggested I have formated my sd card, super wiped (using ARHD superwipe script) and installed the viper 1.1 ROM.So far no reboots, and I will not update google maps.Have been changing ROM's like crazy, so this must have messed up my phone. I will post logcats and other info if I get reboots now.
Again thanks for all your inputs guys, was about to throw away my phone.

Hi everyone, my desire s is acting strange since few days back.. it keeps on restarting for no reason. At first I thought its due to kernel updates to modified kernel 3. But then I installed reaper gingerbread. It restarted when I opened camera.
Then I installed Nik's project x . Still same problem sometimes when I open camera or other heavy application.
It restarts continuously 5-6 times without completely booting and battery drains to 10-15% from 80-90% within 5 minutes..
I've not got this problem when in charging mode..
I'm now using ice_ds 4.3
If anyone have same problem before , is there a solution to this?
Thanks in advance..

I get this too on all custom ROMS.. sometimes if I knock the phone a certain way it resets.. so it must be hardware related.

my solution: buy new battery
Put a bit of paper between the battery and the holder clip, that fixed it for me to keep the battery in place.
My lil' bro's GT2-P3110's battery indicator/notification became weird, it was started last night. The battery indicator/notification was increasing automatically without charging it. I've tried rebooting the device but it keeps on increasing. After rebooting, the battery indicator was 40% but after a few seconds it will increase until it reached 100%. It was frustrating because it didn't know what is the real battery status of the device. =(
I hope anyone can I help me out. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your suggestion..I've already done factory-reset for the tab, but the problem is still there. Battery indicator still keeps on increasing. =(
standard thing to try whenever battery does weird stuff is use it till it shuts off, then WHILE TURNED OFF recharge completely and leave there for like 30 minutes after fully charging to make sure its "topped off" then see if the problem persists.
try hard reset or anther rom

Being unrooted has that one major advantage. Calling for support could lead to a manufacturer warranty replacement if they can't figure it out. Whatever you do/figure out, plz report back. Good luck!
My friend is having the same issue with his tab 2. He gave it to the service station. They simply flash the latest firmware and gave it back. The problem still remains the same. Even doing a factory hard reset hasn't solve the issue.

I've had the same issue in the past. I cant remember how I fixed it but I think you should get rid of the issue by deledit the battery atats from recovery, whiping dalvik and fixing permission. This of course would require a rooted tab. If you are not rooted the contact samsung.

This was happened to my phone too.
You're USB Port is damaged. You need the replace it.
same Issue occured today
i also faced the same issue today... tried to analyze it... here are my observations
1) the battery was fine cuz i played dead trigger, wild blood and dead space for 1 hr and then played 1080 p videos for 45 min to see if battery has given up..
that wasnt the case
2) Factory reset/ data in stock unrooted rom dosent help...
3)After the battery reaches 100% and if u restart the tab. it will start from 3 or 4 % and increase again... basically i think battery level goes above 100% ( yeah i know it sounds weird) and on restarting it will see 104% as 4%...
4) usb OTG was working fine so i can't find the fault the usb.. and the tab was registering charging ( the green line in battery stats) on plugging in the charger....
So i concluded that maybe there is something wrong with software rom/kernel in the system...
Anyhow I gave it to the service center... hope this gets solved soon :fingers-crossed:
Update : The motherboard had to be replaced... Seems the charging port damage cause fits in... So anyone facing this problem has high chances the charging port is damaged even if it might work fine
A very good day to everyone.
I have been using my HTC Sensation for a year and a half already and recently it's starting to crank up.
It started last week when I was using my phone when suddenly it just switched off by itself and no matter how I attempted to switch it back on again it would boot up to the lock screen page and baam, it shuts off again. It doesn't restarts by itself or anything, it just simply switches off and no, I am unable to switch it on again. The only time I am able to do so again is when I plug it into a power source, that is when it would finally be able to start up.
At first I thought that it wasn't something big until recently it started occuring more frequently and I noticed that it only occurs whenever I have my 3G switched on. If I'm plugged in, my phone would still be working without switching off even though I have my 3G switched on. But when I unplug it from its power source, I'll be able to use it with 3G on for a good 20-30mins or even lesser at times and there it goes shutting off by itself again. What actually got me dumbfounded is how I can be having 80% of battery power when this happens.
I have tried the using a card/paper as a wedge for the battery so that it connects better but to no avail even though I have noticed that indeed, my battery seems to have some extra allowance for it to fidget about within the confinements of the spot which is allocated for the battery. I have tried the switching the phone's data usage to GSM only as well as switching it to WCDMA only but both still didn't work. I have also done a factory wipe which didn't work, super wiped it before flashing ARHD once again which didn't work as well.
To make things worse, my phone is not covered under warranty anymore and my only last hope is that the problem lies with my phone's battery rather than the PCB board which is why I'm putting all my hope on the Anker battery which stocks would only come in next Monday which I don't wanna spend on only to find out that it's not gonna be able to save my phone from its miserable plight...
This is my phone's setup:
Android Version 4.0.3
Sense Version 3.6
Software Number - Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 XE by mik1986
Kernel Version - 3.0.16-g31a4fc7 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband Version - 11.76A.3504.00P_11.24A.3504.31_M
I'm really desperate to find a solution to this so if there's anyone of you who has faced this issue/solved this issue please enlighten me as to what I can do, any/all help would be greatly appreciated.

seems like a radio problem ..reflash the firmware you are having or ..flash 3.33/3.32 universal firmware from kohr-ah firmware thread in sensation development section
once done ..get getril app ..open it and flash proper ril for the firmware if you not having matching ril
I've been using the 3.33 firmware for quite a while already but it's still not working. :/

I'd add to that to reflash it using a fresh download of the firmware file. It's possible (though slightly unlikely) that you have a tiny corruption of your existing firmware file so reflashing it might just put the same error back. I say that's unlikely because errors in the radio file of firmware would likely be causing you bigger problems than you are saying. But a new download and fresh flash won't hurt.
Or try switching to the 3.32 firmware (They aren't much different) just to see if it makes a difference. If not you can at least rule that out.
Just a head's up though, after you flash a new firmware file, reboot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik or you will likely just get a bootloop at the boot animation when trying to start it the first time.
I had the same problem - the battery was broken, had to buy a new one, search for "Anker" on amazon
It would help a lot of we had your last_kmsg file. To get the file, you can use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.solarnz.apps.lumberjack. Get the last_kmsg file RIGHT AFTER your phone shuts down and turns back on so we can see what made it shut down. Then, attach the file to your first post so we can see it

My situation is identical to yours. 1,5 years old, constantly rebooting, after reboot the battery power drops to 4%. If it's connected to the power cord it works normally. Already ordered Anker battery and I'll see what happens.
If I look closely, I can see that my battery is a little bloated and not completely flat. Did anybody else noticed that?
So I guess all of this should be written on HTC Sensation FAQ page since it's not a bug, but a feature...
I have a problem with my sensation for a few weeks already. It will suddenly shutdown without any warning or whatsoever after I used apps for a few minutes even my battery is high. After I booted my sensation to sim card password, the battery suddenly drops to 3% then shutdown again before I able to key in my sim card password. I have found a similar thread at the Galaxy S II thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1814466 but not sure it's my battery problem or hardware problem. I have already rooted my device and currently running on Carbon Rom for sensation. Previously I am using albinoman887's CM10.2 rom also facing the same problem. first to see whats draining your battery you need to get wake lock programs from appstore
2nd 2% for one minute of facebook on a mobile device is very normal , I have a newer HTC One X phone drops 5% just to check facebook for one minute on mobile network data
I've had the same problem and putting a piece of paper behind the battery solved it.
About the battery drain, I recommend you to download Gsam battery monitor and see if certain apps drain battery more than it supposed to. 2 percents per minute is really fast. You may also try to reinstall your kernel with different settings.

By the way, I have a question here. Why my version-main is 9.99.999.999? Is there any problem with it? I have tried using the Gsam battery monitor and found out that my kernel drains up quite a lot.
