Hey everyone,
As you've seen the craze among android users who are eager to have newly released BBM on their android phone and I'm also an android user (wannabe developer and going to become after some months) using Xperia U but since I don't have it due to my exams so for the time being I'm using bluestacks on my PC. So is there any way to install BBM on it??

BBM has been ported to 2.3 Gingerbread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496483) you don't need ICS+ anymore..
But the easier way is using Google play but on google play you will need ICS+

But this won't be supported by Bluestacks I guess, since it has 2.0 OS and this one is for 2.3,

I updated an app this afternoon and it now appears in a third category, recently updated (normally I just got installed or update). I believe this is a change.
Sent from my rooted Speak and Spell running OS X Mountain Lion.
thanks :good:
Finally this time Google shared few point of change log...
1. recently updated tab
2. Notification Club.
3. Bug fixex
4. Over the top new version
If you click the link it has the whole article from Androidpolice regarding the change.
There seems to be an additional update, though the version number has not changed. (I could tell because my anti virus ran a check on an update).
Perhaps a quick big fix? I did notice a minor graphical issue (one featured app tile was over sized).

Hey its just a appeal to all the developers if who have precious time to port BBM for our device also ..i know many users are still using this phone like i do..as we are just users and not developers who cant port an app to the device so we can just hope and ask our Developers to do that ..
I found out a page on Xda about installing BBM on gingerbread and other roms running armv7 processors ..so i installed this app on my CyanogenMod 7.2 alpha9, it installed well but just force closes everytime i tried open it, maybe because the libraries in the app are made exclusively for armv7 processors not armv6 ..what i guessed after reading some posts .. so if these libraries got transeferred to armv6 maybe then we can get a fully working app ..what to do think ?? This is the link from where i downloaded this app --
BMM FOR GINGERBREAD ARMV7
WE need developers like Cdesai, Marcellusbe , Hillbest ,Kyrillos13, Ajay and Venkat who can make this thing happen ...
if moderators find this useful then leave it please, its for our dying phone G3 and if they find this thread useless then you can delete this thread or move it ..all depends to u ..RESPECT
Err. Themes and apps thread is what this is. Plus I don't think they'll care about it.

Yes, I think you are right. I am just trying to get the right libs for ARMv6, maybe I can find most of them.
My approach is to try replacing all libs that use ARMv7 code with versions using ARMv6 code. As there will be BB OS 5/6/7 devices maybe with ARMv6 CPU, and BBM is still supported with current versions, it should be possible to find the right libs.
@Jeffrianz successfully ported it.

I know its a very basic and stupid question but i had never came across a situation where i get to upgrade the OS over an alphabet
So the question is - Will i be able to install and run the apks of apps that are extracted while running KitKat on Lollipop?

Of course. If they killed retrocompatibility, hell would break loose. Or at least angry costumers.

I am not talking about backward compatibility..
For example - If I extract the apk of xyz app and save it to some cloud while running KtKat. Then i upgrade to Lollipop and download that apk from cloud and install it while running Lollipop.

That's backwards compatibility. And yes, the APK should work perfectly.
Ohh..ok..my bad.. But then why are some apps adding in their deception whelther Lollipop is supported of not?
As far as I know not all apps support ART right now, so if you have some app that only runs with dalvik it may not be compatible with Lollipop
Farming Simulator 13
Hi. I tried to run farming simulator 13 on lollipop but the app seems to work only on kitkat. Is it possibpe to run this app on lollipop, even knowing that the app is not compatible?
Hello Guyzz,
This is still Alpha Guide
make sure you have backup of your build.prop or rom too Im not responsible For any damage for your phone
So lets start ,
Du u wanna install 5.1.1 or 4.4.4 Android Apps in Small devices like ( 2.3 ,4.2 ,4.4 ) ?
So what r u waiting for follow these steps and then see
1. Go to Root explorer Or Es file manager or any etc
2. Then Go to Root/System/
3. Open Build.prop U will see an line says ro.build.version.sdk = 19 or etc ( depend on your android version )
4. Change the version as you want lets take an example ,
( If u want to install gravitybox 5.1.1 Apk in kitkat 4.4.4 then change the value 19 to 22 )
5. When u changed the value Restart your phone ( dont forget to do backup of your build.prop )
6. Now what ?
Try to install gravitybox 5.1.1 or any other app as u want
7. Thats it !!
This guide still In alpha stage dont try it if u dont know what r u doing
I hope u understand
If you do that you will get app fore close.

yup but only one time
and i already says this is alpha guide
Hi,
The guide does not bring any new API to the older API versions (features like native Material design is missing on older API), additionally, the guide is not recommended considering there's several risk of system breaking if you change the API version identifier from build.prop.
Sorry if it sounds harsh or rude, but the only way to get newer API working is to upgrade or backport it from system code level.
Well i tried this guide and yes i got f.c
but its cool i installed nova launcher in micromax a27 bolt which is run in ( 2.3.5 ) Gingerbread
This is the same as lowering the minsdk in an app, but unfortunately apps won't really work that way and as @Paget96 said you'll mostly end up in an FC

App compatibility isn't really just the matter of 1-2 lines here and there, it's more then that.... You need required stuff in your whole OS and/or in the app itself for apps to be properly compatible
I hope it will happen..
Guide looks cool
I agree with 3#.
来自搭载Android 2.3 GingerBread的华为Y220-T10
yeah
What about the app itself..?
If the app requires api 20 or later, can we make or edit it to work on lower api level...??
