So I've been running noLED on my Nexus S for a while now and just decided to add the app SMS Popup. The problem is that when my phone is sleeping and I get a text I no longer get the notification icon from noLED only, I also get the message pop up and the buttons on it (reply and close) stay active.
I wish that when my phone was sleeping and I got a text I only got the "notification light" from noLED and once I unlocked the screen I'd see the SMS pop up. Does anyone know of a way to reach that? Maybe another app would behave accordingly? Thanks
Under the miscellaneous setting in noled check the option to delay SMS notifications. Works great for me.
That said the pop-up won't be there when the phone is unlocked. Just for the I initial screen on.

Thanks for the tip but that doesn't really help me achieve what I want.
Maybe I could try another SMS program? (Handcent, etc) Opinions/experiences would be great.
I don't think the app matters. The way I understand it is noled will "dismiss " any popup occupying the screen in order to work.
Let me know if you find something though as its an option I'd love to have myself.

Tried Handcent, Chomp, tried even using Widget Locker and it was a no go.

Perhaps you can check out the app's thread for more info and help.

I have a screen-unlock pin set up on my S3. I also have 4 apps with shortcuts on my lock screen. I would like to be able to access one (or all of those apps) from the lock screen without entering my pin to unlock it (specifically camera, camcorder, and/or sound recorder) in case speed is essential (get the quick pic, record an event suddenly, etc), but then not be able to get into Android without entering pin.
For example, I'd like to take a picture, so I hit the power button and the screen turns on with the lock screen showing. I then tag the Camera icon. It immediately goes to the camera, which I can then use. But, if I try to access the Gallery from the Camera app, it would prompt me for my pin (unless I launched the camera while the phone was already unlocked).
Is there any way to make that happen?
Bump.

Won't work without some serious coding effort. Even with WidgetLocker it will prompt you for your pin if you put a shortcut to the camera app to the lockscreen.
yarg...am I the only one that would appreciate this feature?
I've found the best lockscreen for Android: Temporary Phone Lock. When my boss enters the room, he sometimes grabs my phone just to piss me off and he goes through my pictures etc. Now that I have installed this app he is out of luck To unlock is very fast and not irritating at all. Also the standard lockscreen sometimes onlocks in my phone and starts to dail random numbers, also fixed that problem with this tool. Highly recommended! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SocialMediaKickstart.TemporaryPhoneLockTrial
What makes it the best? Can you put widgets on the lock screen? And why would you use this instead of say the android lock screen when you can still use a number password in the android one????

You've got a terrible boss, he isn't allowed to do that.

So this app is to quickly toggle the lock screen? That way you can disable it when no one is around and then quickly enable in public?

Solved, app for free insurance offered by Samsung was causing lockscreen. Uninstalling solved it

A Better Fix
Found out that i really do not have to uninstall the app (appsdaily) in my case.
Instead,
1. Click on the app.
2. Click on Protection Tab
3. Scroll down and click on SOS tab to turn it off.
Lock & try unlocking..
Yeah there U go.. no more sos crap on the lock screen..
Cheers...
Thanks @NewBee029 . I was struggling to find a way to remove it.
Hi there,
I tried to use screen off apps on my SS S8, but when unlocking, it requested PIN numbers instead of using the fingerprint.
The fingerprint only works if we lock screen using the physical button or after timeout.
Do you happen to know any workaround for this?
I read a thread on S7, suggesting using Nova launcher with Screen Lock widget. But, is there any setting we can change to use other apps?
Many thanks,
Nghia
That's general security setting of Android. Happens to me on my OnePlus 3 when it's locked by Greenify. Simply ditch those lock screen apps.

hello,
it is a know issue, try Double Tap to Turn Off, will solve this problem, I am using it and I can use iris, fingerprint, face and of course PIN.
regards
I use nova launcher plus lock screen to double tap gesture. Works fine.
How do u set it up in Nova?
Figured it out, nevermind. At first I thought it was built into Nova, but found the app and set it up. Thx
I was wondering if there are other apps can fix this as well.
Many thanks!

Just tried it, it'd still require me to enter my pin afterwards.

mine is working good, I have set to lock with icon and is perfect, more accurate than double tap.
try to check option menu and play a bit with, if is working for me there is no meaning why it is not working for you!

Played around with that app a little more, you actually need to enable that "show clear view" option, what it does is it would show the time on the screen for about one second before showing the AOD screen.

Use "softkey edge" which is a edge app works perfect. U can use iris or fingerprint after lock the phone using this edge app. Also it do not use device admin access..
You can download from galaxy apps and not avail in play store
OFF+ app work!
I have same issue with Samsung S8. Finally I found app called "OFF+". Just need to change screen off type to delay mode in app. Work perfectly. No issue with fingerprint! :good:

Do you have a link to this app?
This one works for me:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gr.ictpro.jsalatas.screenoff
I tried those other ones and did not have luck.. either the app did allow fingerprint but did not turn the screen off in a reliable way.. or they required pin / password to unlock..
but just found this one and it works so far!

If this is still a question for anyone:
With nova launcher, you need to give it accessebility permission and choose in the nova settings to use a different lock screen method
The setting can be found in the nova settings by scrolling all the way down and choosing the last option in the advanced settings... Each option has an explanation for how it lockes the screen
