Guys we need your help, a popular developer who is one of the brains for the recent port of CM for Xperia SP is now undecided on buying either Xperia M or Xperia L... having him as a developer for our Xperia L will hasten CM development so please we need your vote. Brinly Taylor also known as
uberlaggydarwin... He is popular together with others who succeeded on CM for Xperia SP...
Currently the vote goes for L but the number of vote is 38 vs. 24 as of posting time in favor of Xperia L. Hope you also vote in order to have another developer and will possibly the key to have CM for our phones..
We are not asking donations or anything except for hitting +1 on Xperia L... Hope you guys take time to hit on the poll on google+... the link is below...
https://plus.google.com/u/0/111440315650679525393/posts/HBd3Mn5aRns
NOTE: Never leave a comment. For those who have already voted. Please do vote because the poll has been resetted due to not following instruction. Avoid posting a comment. Just hit +1 for Xperia L
Update October 22, 2013
uberlaggydarwin decided to buy Xperia L, its just a matter of time... Lets just wait for his updates. Thanks again guys...
49 - Xperia L vs 31 - Xperia M. I hope he will buy a XL and we could get a CM.
Now it is 53 vs. 32 we are slowly widening the gap. Hope we get more votes soon. I have posted it already on Xperia L Indonesian group on facebook
guys please do vote again and follow instructions

So, is this poll the real-thing? I mean, I don't know the dev etc. but I've been trying everything to get CM on L, and this was probably the most "hopeful" attempt I've seen so far and for the first time I see a (supposed) dev inside the "L" scene.
Can we really expect an official CM port? :fingers-crossed:

hopefully yes because he is one of the brains of Cyanogenmod for Xperia SP and is now going official so theres a possibility of even having an official CM for Xperia L
Great news, if we have CM then really everythink is for us. Like Paranoid, Miui or maybe even Ubuntu Touch ! Hope there will be stable version as quick as possible.
CM Bringup.
Hello Xperia L friends.
It's Brinly Taylor here - @uberlaggydarwin here. The thread OP is correct about the conclusion and I do plan to acquire a device for development in the near future as soon as I can try get myself a device. Quite broke lately but it will get better so dev will probably have to wait until I can get myself a device to continue bring up. Look's like you'll wait until I can pull together some money to buy a device
My GitHub organisation is github.com/XperiaL-AOSP/
Hope to see you fokes soon.

Thank you, I was starting to regret buying the Xperia L. This week's news (or, rumour) about L getting the 4.2.2 (or 4.3) along with the fact that you will be developing for L made me happy.
This is amazing hope you can pull it off

i wish we would get it but well, don't get your hopes too high
4.3 = jelly bean
4.4 = kitkat ??
i think if got update from SONY, our device will get 4.2 first .
Sony will never upgrade budget phones beyond 4.0/4.1. You guys will remain forever here.

Yes!Google need us like android as KitKat(famous food,I also like)
Sent from my ST26i using xda app-developers app
Personally I doubt that our devices (Miro/Tipo/E/J) will not receive KitKat.
Reasons being;
1) Sony hasn't given Miro and Tipo 4.1+ nor have they given E and J 4.2+
2) Developers haven't wanted to give Miro and Tipo 4.2+ nor have they given E and J 4.3.
3) Although it is Google's aim to release 4.4 to as many devices as they can we are all low budget and low end specs meaning that there would have to be some serious optimization.
We may as well face that our devices have reached their EOL now.
We have 4.1.2 and this is the end. Deal with it. If you want newer android, buy new device or learn porting.
There is no sense in creating threads like this one.

Hahahaha this post made my day!
---------- Post added at 01:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:01 PM ----------
Of course we will not get it from sony, even not from FXP Team. We are talking about some talented developer here.
sooooo maybe we get kitkat from sony but 10% chance but i im relatively sure that we get it from fxp ... but again: there is problem with drivers ???or not???
Talking about Sony they only cares the new devices , like the Z series ,maybe its time to change to a new phone or unlock the bootloader and wait for the developers
Sorry for my bad english
I think we wont get any new updates for Xperia J. We get .33 update and what was new? - Arabian language was added!
I know it's easy to say but, I think FXP or any other great developer should (at least) try porting 4.4 to our devices (JLo) because we have the "minimum requirements". We should keep in mind that JB requirements are "bigger" than KK ones, and Google said:
RAM (or memory) is one of the most expensive parts of a phone, and now Android can run comfortably on the 512MB of RAM devices (like JLo) that are popular in much of the world, bringing the latest goodies in Android 4.4 within reach for the next billion smartphone users.

- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Audio
- Storage (100% fine now, @joebonrichie you've done great work)
- Buttons backlight
- LEDs
- Screen rotate
- ART
- Gapps
- almost everything
Bugs/not working:
- Camera doesn't work
- Torch crashes
- Video playing
- some audio formats may not be supported yet
- If you tap volume key twice fast, launcher/system crashes (doesn't happen when listening to music)
- Illumination
- Bluetooth
- Wired headphones
- Sometimes SystemUI starts crashing instantly - only reboot helps

J ----> me, AshRoller
E ----> hsr0

@FXP thanks for kernel.
I would like to highlight that srl3gx, joebonrichie, ShivangDave and hsr0 are also contributing to jlo. KitKat wouldn't be working without their's commits.

Well I must say I'm blown away. 2 days after the biggest news hits our devices and not one single person has replied with a logcat, posting issues or things they've found.. Not one post even stating they've downloaded it and trying it out!
Instead we get demands, in-fighting and schoollkid bickering. You XDA users really are ungrateful little children.
So if you want to help, supply logcats, give details or just don't bother posting.
People have worked hard to give you this, the least you could do is show some respect in dev threads.. Keep it dev related!

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?
Find out here:
Carbon Team
Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

From this thread:
NOTE FOR EVERYBODY
Copy & paste this answer in any thread like this.
Android 5.0 Lollipop from Team Canjica probably will never see the light. In our opinion, Galaxy S Advance and in generally STE-based devices are too weak to handle well another Android major release.
The fact is that more time passes, more OS and applications become heavier and complex.
Was a pain to get a "stable" (between quotes since still has some issues like huge battery drain, that can't be fixed) Kitkat.
Another major release means heavier, more complex, CPU even with OC is too slow to handle and execute well threads, RAM memory is too little and this means lags, impossibility to run big apps and the Mali 400 single core GPU is too weak for more complex graphic effects in games that will come and especially in transitions between menus, pull down status bar etc. The last perfect major release for this device is Jelly Bean 4.3, to build any major release means that we need to research and find (with A LOT OF TESTING) how to fix bugs, means that we need to develop new OMX patches to make camera and videos working. KitKat is okay but huge battery drain and a lot of lags are signal that it's the last major release that these STE devices can handle in a non-stable way against JB 4.3 that it's almost (to not say "totally") stable. Now, stop a moment and imagine Lollipop, totally ruined user experience. Do you wanna live together with device lagging 99/100 times (1/100 without lags rightly after power on, maybe) and with charger always connected? We should be lords of our devices, not slaves. Nobody of us still uses a STE device and without is totally impossible to develop what has never been developed, if you want to keep updated I'm sure that you would change device asap, today even a 100€ device is more powerful than these. Janice will be 3 years old on April 2015, it's just the future coming...
We loved this device, development, known good guys here... Officially this device died on 4.1, Team Canjica gave you 3 major releases!!!
Never forget

Nope, sorry, we all have new devices. @diego-ch is the last one to join the qcom familiy (LG G3), @Rox- has a Galaxy S3 Neo, and if I remember correctly, @frapeti has a Galaxy S4. And @zwliew (for those who don't know him, he as contributed a lot to the kernel we use for both janice and codina, he had the latter, codina) got a Moto X 2013 (I think that's right?). Heck, even cocafe has a new qcom device (Xperia z1).
And because Lollipop (and CM12, and OminROM versions of it too) has arrived, we are focusing on our new main devices. So, for now, no Lollipop love for janice (and Antares already said what we think as whole), yet still we may do something on the future (no promises).

Guys, it's simple: if you want to have the latest software updates will have to buy a new phone . Why .. ? because everything moves and is logical and normal that the developers change their phones and stop giving importance to the devices that few people have these days . The S Adv is a phone of 2012. Personally I still have this device because it fulfills , for now, my requirements . I know not everyone can change their phone but as I said , everything progresses and is logical that requirement . We are going great KitKat . We can not ask for much more .
Regards .
yes, there is
i booted up cm12 on my s advance, it has some bugs.. like vibration, some sensors, and others
for those still waiting look in original development thread
,near stable cm 12 has been built by hastalafiesta.notable bugs include video recording doesnt work(stills work fine though),auto brightness(manual adjustment works),wifi direct, compass, gps.the rest(calls, data, wifi) work just fine.ui is fluid enough.i suggest u flash the 12/05/2015 build.personally tested the 03/05 build ,the latesf one only got better
install process is same like any kitkat rom:
for the 12/05/2015 build, simply clean install over stock jellybean firmware(installed thru odin of course).no need to install any special kernels in the intermediate process, simply clean intall thru temp cwm recovery.just remember install seems blocked at "found ext4 partition at mmcblk03,05,03...."something like that, dont panic its still installing...takes nearly 30 mins for the install to complete

Hello to the community,
We are using our devices for a long time and now we have some pretty good stuff here .
We have themed roms with enhanced features BUT one thing I noticed that we have pretty good developers who have some high potential in different cateogaries .... and if we all proceed to build and devlop a rom together from source it would be awesome...
Here is what I did ==>
I wrote a small PM to all our developers , this is what i wrote,
Code:
Heya bro
Remember me??
I was thinking of starting a bigger rom project, like a community built rom.
Will make a thread where people can contribute things to rom and discuss ideas and all
All developers here including me
Will make a team and contribute things
We have pretty good and you have sir rico as ur frnd. So might br we develop a good awesome and fast rom
and sent it to @iSiddharth @Samuel Wankhede @Saelfos Emaka
These were the replies
From @iSiddharth
Code:
Yeah sure that's a really good idea. Lets unite all the developers here.
We can make a Cyanogenmod like ROM or some Modded Stock ROM or something like that.

We all can make a good ROM if we all work together, That is a very good.
from [B @Saelfos Emaka[/B]
Code:
I am in....
I have no problem with this...
I like the idea, but we should have other developers help, like hrithik, isiddharth, and Samuel wankhede.....
It is really cool idea...
from [B @Samuel Wankhede[/B]
Code:
Yeah bro sure,...
I will help to my fullest..
It will be a lot better if we work as a team and make a beautiful rom for Xperia C...
Good idea of yours..
Hence it is clear that all of us want to contribute for a better ROM ,
but dont you dare think that you cannot contribute anything If you have anygood mods and tips you are free to tell
us by PM or here but dont just say(order) us that "hey why dont you add this" Its pretty annoying Such things must be sent through PMs only.Any good mods you find can be posted here.
If thats good we will add that to the the Rom and YOU will be given credits for your contribution cause At last Its a community built rom
not anyone's personal Work
Therefore I started this thread so that we have all contributions here.

Hey..
Hello Developers...
First of all thanks to Abhishek for this awesome idea of making a community built rom..
Guys I have an idea..
I will make xperia theme which not only would theme the device but will also change the color of the lollipop drop down status bar according to the theme color..
Any suggestions would be appreciated too...
But I would request any of you developer to test the theme and provide me screenshot as I don't have the device.
Yes our team should have a tester too.we all can also test things but a dedicated tester would be better,
So finally you managed to get those accent colours to work.
I can work on some Icons for the Theme and color scheme too
Yes we do need some new icons, how about we go to the android m way?

Can you post the ROM logo here so that I can add it up in the Platlogo and the Bootanimation.
The logo above seems to have Watermark in background.
i need a custom rom lolipop for xperia c without problems
Hey people any updates??
Sent from my C2305 using Tapatalk
So, did this ever get off the ground...is it because the Xperia C source code is not available?
With the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Sony Xperia Z5 , aver you the possibility of flashing in xperia C , as with the break 5.1.1?
