We can wait if somebody port Ubuntu touch from HTC One... I hope...
I'd try it for sure
I've read that to build Ubuntu touch to our phone you only need to be able to compile from source like you would do it with cyanogen mod but as using cm as source use Ubuntu source and mix it with specific driver to our phone from CM sources

I don't know if it would be worth it. It isn't progressing very fast, I don't think there is even a dedicated app store yet.
It's like the HP touchpad, I really liked Web OS, but there just weren't very many apps. So I loaded Android on it.
Nothing is impossible.

anyone know whether you can use a touch ubuntu L720 s4 ..
is that I use in s3 (no 3g no wifi no network bluethoot) just to test ..
Now I would like to try it on my s4 .. thanks for the info
That would be cool, but i'd much rather see open webos ported to the HOS. That OS has always been my favorite.

Just a small question
Do you think its possible to port a rom from e.g. galaxy s2 to hd2 ? Pr is it a difference that cant be solved? Thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
Afaik it should be possible. Maybe not very easy but it should work. i even think there's not much effort needed if the drivers are available. sgs2 rom to sgs port should be easy.

Turn off signature checking in recovery settings and you will be able to flash it without a signature check.

I tried . but you know what I used a cm10 as a base for a kernel . should have used like a 10.1

that's most likely gonna cause some issues somewhere, I don't think it'll stop you from flashing though.
ohh and when I did the port I followed the guide to a "t" and the one thing I might have messed up was the updater script . cause it seemed as if the partition details were incorrect or something . I dunno .anyone else want to try ? there is lots of guides here on xda in just the android development section

Why port? Just compile it! There are also alot of guides to do so.

I would love this but with the semi-lacking (no offense to our current awesome devs!) development and with such I doubt some one will take on a project such as this..
I am starting the port of Ubuntu touch for our thunderbolt. I am not a professional developer but I have experience in development. I have an idea that I will explain.
My idea is to make a team and developed this port. I have tried but keep getting a status 7 error during installation. The status 7 I get, deals with the update script. I don't know how to fix this. This is why I would like to make a team.
Anyone that would like to join pm and I will upload the zip I made and we will try to port this faster.

One problem that I can see you having immediately is the fact that we don't have cm10.1 to base the port off of. Also the current versions of Ubuntu touch lack any real world use other than to ooo and aw at. Without the base though I don't know how porting it would even be possible.

True but I read on the Ubuntu website that it was used on ICS. So if it worked with ics it may work, If we all try to make it work it would be good. The only we need to do is to get the rom to boot, once it boots we can check what works and fix the not working. This is possible, it just takes time.

I didn't say it was impossible. We are lacking the requirements. All the info I read about it says it uses cm10.1 which is jb. The other part that sucks the most is that it there really aren't any usable features to speak of yet. I tried it with my n7 and it is neat but not even close to being a daily driver.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Well.... we can try to port it, its only the developers preview but if we port the preview we can know what we will deal with when Ubuntu touch is out.

Haha I made a similar thread over @ Galaxy Nexus and they just opened fire, because I have little skill with this stuff as well.... Status 7 means your model name or something like that is incorrect when checked with the device itself, that's why you can't flash a GSM Nexus ROM on a Verizon Nexus... I believe this info is in build.prop if you unzip the zip in question and open build.prop with some Linux distro (Linux opens ROM files out of the box, suck it Window$).

You can bypass device check by removing the assert prop lines in the updater script.

I was thinking the ace was the code name for the desire HD. Not the galaxy ace
Sent from my N7 that is peeking through the blinds because it is so PARANOID.
I can take a look at your update script if you'd like. Also I would not recommend porting this as almost 0 things work. To each their own, though

Yea I already mentioned that basically nothing works. The status 0 problem is most likely an issue with the update binary not matching the changes made to the update script.

Hi there,
I present you some new devs toys, the the latest Qualcomm drivers for adreno 2xx and 3xx and as the HTC One S got the 225 and android 4.2, I think it may be useful for some dev to integrate them in their android 4.2 ROM/Kernel (I 'm not a dev I don't know where it's supposed to be).
https://developer.qualcomm.com/mobi...phics-optimization-adreno/tools-and-resources
It has been released the 4th of March 2013
Incase anyone needs to download without signing up..

Better graphics performance in games, better benchmarks. (or maybe no lag or screen tearing in 4.2 ROMs)
Higher version number which is always good!!
Excellent news! It's all happening at once for our One S' now! :good:

Don't think they work just like that...it should be too easy. I've replaced the files in LiquidSmooth 2.0 with the ones from the zip to test....and ended up in a black screen. Had to restore from backup. Could be that other modules or even kernel has to be changed in order to work with the new drivers

Yes, this is something we should expect to be supported in future ROMs and kernel builds. Regular users shouldn't try to install this over their current ROMs.
As I said it's a dev toy
