I have recently rooted my Xoom WiFi (Running ICS 4.0.4 IMM76) and the SD card is unusable. It wasn't functioning all that well before, but now it's even worse. Any file on it is unreadable by all programs. Music files are seen on Google Play Music but attempting to play them and it just skips to the next file and on and on it goes. My searching this site and many others doesn't come up with a solution. Everything I get is pre ICS or non rooted Xooms. Can someone help? Either listing what needs to be done to fix it or by linking to a post that will help.
Thank you

Not sure if it was using the fix permission function of Tiamat's ClockworkMod Recovery or if it was installing CyanogenMod 9 but it is working perfectly now, better than before.
Hi,
I have a problem with my P6210. I am trying to install CWM on it (it has root access) but whenever I go into the recovery, it cannot find the sdcard with the cwm zip file. I have put it in multiple places in the system to see if the recovery software can find it but fails.
The photo shows the screen I get every time I try -

Anyone please?
It means you either didn't put the zip in the right place (on the root of the SD) or you have a wonky MicroSD card. Happened to me with an off-brand 8gb. Used another 2gb card I had lying around and works fine.
Thanks a million!
I remember this is how i rooted my tab too. I swapped the sd card from my optimus black to my tab and was able to root it like that. Must have forgotten.
Again thanks a lot.
My pleasure. Just got my GT+ (trying to decide if it can replace my GT10.1) and had fun figuring this one out myself. It's a bummer there's no working ICS for this tab (yet); on the GT10 it was night and day from the best custom 3.2 ROM to the first ICS ROM.
In this Forum i found a french Stock Rom and a guide to push it on the tab.
I have the german xxx23xx emea actually.
I have unlocked my bootloader renamed the file to Update.zip with totalcommander and copy it to external Sd.
After Boot with Holding the volume key and displaying the Text.....nothing hapend....
I habe try it with different sdcards.
Why IT doesnt works?

External Sdcard
I have an a700 with a 16 gig external sd card. I formatted it on my laptop fat32 and it has worked fine. I have since started piddling with roms and registered rom manager. I tried to use RM to download and install a new rom. I am currently using Evil Alex v 2 with no problem. I kept getting an error - unable to mount SD card - over and over. I have tried to use recovery to mount and format the sdcard with no go - unable to mount. After some research i decided to remove the existing partition on the card thinking that would do it. Same errors. Now the sd card is not even seen by the tablet - which I fully understand because I wiped the partitions. My question is is there a guide to walk me through setting up the sdcard to where I can use rom manager to backup / install roms from? I do not have access to my laptop now and was hoping I could do it on the tablet.
Thanks in advance...

I have a Acer Iconia A700 stuck in a boot loop. To my best knowledge, it is not rooted. I have tried to install "firmware updates" and nothing has worked. I kept getting errors when I did 'Apply Update from External Storage'. It has stock recovery.
All, as a complete noob I was wondering if someone has already come across this.
I have a CNM 10.1 tablet. I like this tablet but it does have some flaws. Firstly the USB does not charge the tablet. Does anyone know if this is a hardware or OS issue ? i.e. does the USB port have the correct pins for charging.
Secondly it has NAND memory. Now I have rooted my tablet and installed various apps to move applications to external memory but that does not do the job. I have also installed a directory binder which helps for some apps. However the google app's update always insists on installing / downloading to my very small /data partition. The design isn't the best.
What are my options here ? repartition ? any good applications that get around this NAND issue ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm new to this and wrestling with the learning curve but I have spent time doing searches and trying to find an answer myself before asking for assistance.
I have managed to unlock my bootloader and, as I understand it, I should now find a custom recovery for my device before I try to root it. I have searched and searched but I have not been able to find a custom recovery which is definitely for my Android and I don't want to brick the thing. Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
Beyond that, any advice on the best rooting options would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running Android 6 on an Acer Iconia One 7 B1-780 (MTK8163).
It seems like nobody is working on this tablet... so sad because its got a great screen and is very responsive, I have also looked for a custom ROM or the right way to root it since it comes with so little space but to no avail. If you´ve found something let me know please.

If you're worried about the lack of space (as I was), you may use an SD card as internal storage. I did that, and at first, I thought all was well. However, it wasn't very long until I started getting the insufficient space message when installing apps. What I forgot to do, was MIGRATE the data from the internal space to the SD Card when I was asked if I wanted to use the inserted SD card as adoptive storage. If you skipped that step as I foolishly did, you may change it manually in the storage settings. Simply use the three-dot menu (top right) when looking at the SD card storage menu. Select 'Migrate Data' and it will push app data to the card opening up lots of internal space.
I now have over 10 gigs of apps installed to my 32 gig micro SD Card with 1.5 gigs used of the 3 (!) available in the included internal space.
Some apps still continue to install to the internal space. Simply move the app to the card manually (again in the storage settings). However, some apps CANNOT be moved to the card. Thankfully, in my use, these apps seem to be rare.
All the best!
