OK so I have around 14 hours trying to root my Sprint Galaxy SIII with no luck what so ever. I have tried every method I can find for windows, I've tried every port on my computer, I unistalled kies, tried the "samsung GS3 toolkit" I've tried every recovery image and .tar file I can find. Bottom line Odin will not work for me. It recognizes my device and starts to run but it gets stuck on recovery.img or sometimes boot.img and it won't get past it. I tried Odin 3.07 and Odin 3 V 1.85 and a bunch of other versions. Half of them crash my computer and give me the blue screen of death and the other half just hangup like i mentioned. I'm using windows 7 home 64bit edition on my Asus laptop. I've updated windows and even tried restoring windows. NOTHING WORKS!!! lol some one please tell me they can help?? Also I tried booting the phone into recovery mode and rooting it that way by flashing Superuser zips and recovery images. Someone please help.
Friends it happens often that while flashing custom roms we brick our phone..
but its very easy to unbrick samsung galaxy y lite duos
to do this you need to have the following
1. Stock rom packages see here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140717
2.odin from here... http://d-h.st/1TM
after downloading above files simply open odin in pc and make sure you're not going to change any default settings in it
and in the PDA simply use the stock rom which you have already downloaded from above it is in the .md5 format
connect your phone to pc make sure you're in download mode to do this simply switched off you're phone and press volumeup+power button+home
all together at the same time and when you're in the download mode plug your phone to pc via usb odin will detect your phone.
after all this click on start odin will flash your stock rom for you and notify you when its done!!!
process is very easy its happen to me a thousand times and i love flashing custom roms, kernels there many available in the site just search it.
ask anything regarding gt5302 i will definately help you.
Thnx for this but plz help me when I am connecting my phone its not detecting it
Hi i just hard bricked my samsung galaxy core i8262. trying to flash custom kernel make it hard bricked. now i can't turn it on, can't boot to recovery and into the downloading mode. when i try to turn it on or do the combo buttons (keys) to recovery or download mode it only vibrates. BUT when i try connecting my hard bricked samsung to computer it is recognized by computer AND When I install odin and see if the odin detects it well YES it detects my phone. and now I just want to know if i can still flashed my stock firmware to my bricked phone with the odin even if my phone is not in downloading mode? or does usb jig can work it on to downloading mode? ( i dont have usb jig so i dont know yet if it will work on my phone) i didn't yet try flashing my stock firmware using the odin cause im afraid that it will get super hard bricked. Help.

Ok so I had a similar problem with my samsung phone as well where i couldnt go into download mode. So i pretty used the download mode combo(it wasnt in download mode). I just flashed stock firmwere and apparently it worked and you said odin was recognizing it so the best bet is to flash stock firmware via odin even if its not going to download mode
Hope i helped you

Now I'm getting an error:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies & try again.
It's a tablet:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (p5100)
In my computer im using windows 10 pro, and adb device is not regonized.
What I neeed to do to get pasted that error?
Thanks for the help!
There is nothing to worry.
It is easy to solve this.
Just download Odin in your pc.
Download the official firmware if your device here.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-P5100/
Now open Odin In pc
Connect your device to the pc .
Now in the app under PDA browse for the firmware you have downloaded and click start.
Wait till it says pass.
That's it you have successfully solved your problem.
Now it will take some time to boot.
In case you feel that you are in a bootloop just go to recovery and perform a factory reset .
Odin download http://odindownload.com/download/Odin3_v3.10.6.zip

Greetings;
I don't know if you already entered Download Mode...
Most problems accessing Recovery and Download Modes are due to having the USB Cable connected.
Remove the cable; press the key combination; and it will boot.
(Except if there's some incompatible ROM flashed by mistake).
After that plug the USB Cable again (if your USB Drivers have also installed for Download Mode) Odin will recognize it (like shown in your Screen Shot).
REMEMBER:
While Flashing do NOT Remove USB Cable, untill Odin Displays "Pass" message.

Hi
I discovered my Samsung S III stuck on the Samsung screen. I have done all that was suggested but still no luck. It was suggested for me to use Odin to flash it with the original Android system. I read the instructions. I am very new to this. I have Kies my computer. When I plug my wifes phone in it sees it when I plug mine in it says installing drivers then fails. Even if I use Odin will the computer recognize my phone or is it a lost cause?
TIA

look up how to put your S3 into download mode and try Odin it should work if you have the current Odin and firmware files ready and correct USB drivers installed. I have a newer Samsung so I only use Odin, but I make sure it's in download mode first...

You must place your phone in download mode, simultaneously press the keys, volume up, home, and on, a screen with the android logo will appear, press the volume key up and enter download mode, then with the odin already open and the File of the original rom loaded, connect the usb cable to your phone and start downloading the rom to the phone .. :good:
The following links is a little Helper with a video on how to enter Download Mode on a Galaxy S3.
