Really nice app! Can you work a little bit on design?
Thumbs up!

Looks great!!!
But at times the UI looks a bit off-beat ...
Why don't you go for plain HOLO Style ???
Holo style looks sleek, also it will merge with rest of the Android Framework and this app will look as an integrated part of System!!!
Good Work & Keep Deving !!!

This is really nice dude!
A few recommendations:
Stick to the standard Android UI, that is, Holo.
Mark the SMS as read if the user replies to it.

Sir, i have tested your app and many things to be mentioned here
Firstly the floating window doesnt show complete message and also doesnt not allow us to scroll message down to read more so how can we reply back without reading complete message.......
secondly the window sticks at upper side of the screen only please make it movable to other screen area if its possible.....and also make it more color full
ok now some information for your help......if you have ever checked CM for xperia devices they have created their own messaging app which is installed when we install CM that messaging app is called Mms.apk and this app is the most customisable and full of features messging app created to date in the history of android....in that app their is a option of pop up message (like your's idea) kindly check that you will come to know what i want to say.....you will get alot of things in that...you can even reply without unlocking screen...
BTW nice effort......

Nifty Little App!
I have used this app and it runs perfect and smooth. No issues here. I did managed to click on the Play Store link and I saw the icon you where using and well... I decided to make you a new one. If you like it then hurray  if you dont then its fine
New Icon:

I have made it so that only the first 160 characters of the text message is shown (There is a 160 character sending limit on most sms applications) but I will work on it to display the entire text.
I am currently working on enabling to be flinged up and down the screen (kinda like Facebook Chat bubbles)! I will take a look at mms.apk
Thanks!

@manuja95 Working fine on TouchWiz, thanks for this app. I especially like it because it's not obtrusive. Maybe you can add adjustable window sizer so users can adjust it to their liking.:good:

One of the best mod ive ever experienced. Im a TW user and dont have the aosp stock messaging. Device running on stock rom coz there's not much development and what ive been missing in my past device is the halo. This is very helpful to me and to other users. Thank you very much!

[APP] [UPDATED 6/24] Text Notify (Now Supports K9 Mail)

This app is simple but useful for people that heavily use full screen apps (games/browsers/ect). It gives a nice little notification that shows the text message/email you just received, allowing you to decide if it's worth quitting your app to reply to it (see picture), even if you're in another app! You can turn the notifications on and off via the main screen. The best part of it is you can play and the notification will not interfere with your touch on the game. It might also have the simplest options menu.
FEATURE LIST:
Now supports K9 Mail (requires K9 Mail for functionality)
Shows the sender (name from contacts list or number if contact doesn't exist)
Shows the contents of the message
Low profile
Doesn't interfere with the touch interface of whatever task you are doing
Easy to turn on or off just by the touch of a checkbox
Lightweight
No more quitting Angry Birds just to see that someone texted you "lol"
Works in portrait and landscape orientations
Permissions explained:
Read SMS: So that it can read the text to show you
Read contacts: so that it can see if anyone in your contacts shares the same number and the text sender
Please report any bugs to me.
P.S. I know this is a VERY simplistic app and may seem pointless. If you feel that way that is fine, however I have had a lot of people that laughed at it originally tell me they can't use any full screen app without and they never turn it off. So I simply ask you give constructive criticism. Thank you!

What about an option, like only when in a game. Options like in circle.launcher, pick apps that you want. Just a thought
Doesnt work on Atrix with Handcent as my default messaging app.
Edit: it does however work on Atrix w Handcent, but Handcent not set to default.
Can you make it work with the Handcent option: default messaging app?

I can try. I don't really know what Handcent does that alters the messaging system but I'll look into it
This is actually insanely genius. I probably won't ever need to use it because I don't have that many full-screen apps, but the creativity and method of execution is great!
Good work

Thanks. It is a newer feature in Handcent that was just added in the new update, my hope was to be able to freeze my stock messaging app and use only HC. I was testing the feature when I came across your thread, thats why I was able to troubleshoot so quick. Right now I have the HC "default app" setting turned off so I can continue using Text Notify!

Yeah well, you are right but it's nothing more than the letter "n". And I shaped the letter myself in Photoshop and didn't really think about nook so I don't think that is a problem in any way.
Edit: Btw. I added some more screenshots and updatet the app but the Market refreshes itself so dawn slow that you can't see it yet.

Should it wake up the device or even unlock it?
Edit: I already implemented the pop-up. I'll make it an option if you want it to wake or even unlock the phone.
Also you'll be able to choose if you only want the normal notification, only the pop-up or both.
Stay tuned for the next Update
Alright, just updated the app, it might take a minute to show up in the market.
Changelog:
New features:
- Added option to get a popup upon receiving a notification
- Added option to wake or unlock device upon receiving a notification
- Added option to set the notification sound and vibration
Bugfixes:
- fixed minor things
This app is the business!! I've looked for something like this for quite a while, so thank you indeed for creating it.
Now that the pop-up option has been created, the only other suggestion I have is to be able to invert the colours - so that the background is dark and the text is white.
I'm glad you like it
I'm not satisfied with the all white background at the moment so I'll look into it this weekend. Maybe I'll make a black theme as an option too.

Changelog:
- List design changes
- Option to choose a black theme
- Fixed text overlapping
- Fixed bug with edit button

- Fixed longpress delete button
enjoy
Black theme looks great! Any chance of integration with Google Calendar so the notifications will automatically be imported into it, if at all possible?

Yes - that the notifications created will automatically be exported to Google Calendar. It's not a big issue as the app works great as it is now. It was more if you wanted suggestions on possible further enhancements. I'm in no way an expert on creating apps, but there are calendars on the market that integrate with Googles calendar so it might be possible.
Great work.
Thank You

I'll look into it and if it's not too hard to do I'll implement it. I also thought about some feature to share notifications with other people and the Google Calendar might be the way to go there.

This app is just what I've been waiting for! I just wanted to point out one thing... On my Galaxy S3 (stock with Touchwiz), when I get a call, sometimes for about 1 second the regular dialer ringing screen appears, then it disappears and is replaced by HandyCall. Is there any way to prevent the stock dialer screen from starting at all?
Also, can you envision doing something similar to handle SMS?

Well, the app does NOT interfere with Dot View functionality, which is awesome, but I do have the aforementioned issue where the default dialer pops up for a couple seconds before Handy Call activates. It just seems to take away from the intent of the app when it sucks you out of what you were doing. Is there a fix for this?

any plans for dual-sim support? separate calling button for each sim.
hope there's no distortion at lower dpi values as seen here...
Showstopper for me is no contacts list. All it has is 4 favorite contacts or the call log.
Unheard of for a dialer to not give access to the contacts.
dark theme only on payd version? NO!

Seems nice, can you post screenshot while making a call ?

By using this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reactivstudios.android.dialer.plus
The only thing stopping me from making it my daily driver (or should that be daily dialler?) is that the numbers without contacts appear blank.
I often find myself needing to call people who aren't in my contacts and then having to call back the same person a few hours later. I may not know exactly when I last called them, but I often recognise the number.
Otherwise, it has a nice, clean interface and is a great option for people who are stuck with a stock dialler that lacks features like T9.
Thanks
No access to contact list? Sprung for the paid version and it looks good but needs a way to access the contact list please!
Will it be able to run without the contacts and phone apk on a rom? Because that would be great.
Looking pretty sexy, but the mention of DPI funkyness (I use a custom DPI on my Galaxy S4 (380)) and no easy access to my Contacts is a dealbreaker. Should these two issues (if the DPI thing is even an issue) be addressed, I'd happily endorse the crap out of this. Regardless, excellent work!

Thank you, Spiricore. I didn't quite understand, what do you mean by DPI funkyness?

let me try to answer that.
he was probably referring to the 2nd pic i posted here. the left half of that pic shows the stock dialer at the stock dpi of 480 on my device. the right half of that pic shows the stock dialer at a (custom) dpi of 380. what he & i wanna know is whether your dialer behaves so. or, does it scale properly at various custom dpi values?
please also state whether dual-sim support can be expected in your app (as shown in the first pic on the post referred to above). thanks.
In the recent calls list all contacts with no picture assigned have a picture of a guy. Can you please fix this? I don't want to see a picture of some guy (even if it is you lol), literally anything else would be fine. There are no pics associated with these contacts for a reason. At least an option to disable the placeholder pic or swap it for a big "?" or something would be fine.
Other than that, I really dig this app! Searching using T9 is much smarter than my TouchWiz dialer! Bought the Plus version for the dark theme and I'm loving it!

Also I just noticed that longpress 1 to call voicemail doesn't work for me.

Ok, got it. Reactiv Dialer should not have any problems with custom DPI. Its layouts are made to display normally on any phone density.
Dual sim functionality is not supported by Android. Phone manufacturers modify it themselves to add the functionality. So it is impossible to implement without having access to any documentation.

I will replace the picture of the guy with the first letter of the name of the contact. Also I will add displaying the name of the contact below.
Voicemail bug should be fixed in the upcoming update.

FAQ/Information:
This application is based on open-source application "Signal" 3.1.1 https://github.com/WhisperSystems/Signal-Android (not the last version, because the last is slooooooww), but I removed the encryption to send SMS, all encryption call features, integrated smileys, for a better, lighter and faster application.
The application take long time the first launch
Close the application and relaunch it.
Why use QuickSMS and not Signal ?
I have "created" this application because all available SMS applications don't give me satisfaction, and I have discovered Signal and it's a good application, but I don't care about all features like the encryption, I want only the essential, so this is the reason of QuickSMS…
I have a force close…
Provide me a logcat please
I want see your code !
Just here https://github.com/Valbonjv/QuickSMS.git
Please do an effort when you write the description of QuickSMS, there is spelling mistakes everywhere…
Sorry I'm french
Can I help you ?

Its definitely quick, good work.
I'm sure you will add more customization in the future.
I'd love to see the ability to hide contact photos so that it is just text only.
Thanks for your work ?

New issue
One week after the installation of QuickSMS, a popup appear to rate Signal app (because QuickSMS is based on this app), just ignore it, sorry for this inconvenient
In future update I will delete this popup.
Nice app. I have two suggestions:
- An option in settings to open popup on pressing notification(instead of opening the app)
- Improving animations (the slide one is not very smooth)
Keep up the good work
Going to test this app.
Thx Val'
EDIT off topic :
What's your keyboard, I see a simple characters one with row numbers
EDIT 2 on topic and personnal feedback :
- For the keyboard the touch "Entrée" (in french) is missing, I need it !
- The conversation of a blocked contact is still visible in conversation list, I would prefered that the conv' was hidden.
Other than, simple and fast app, keep it like that
Great work :good:
Y'a du potentiel :hap:

It's the Google keyboard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin&hl=fr
If you want the touch "Entrée", touch a long time the smiley key
Ok, I'll think about it
Thank you

Why isn't this app in the Google play store?
@Valbon
New update is running well, I'm running this on mine and my girlfriends phone now.
In addition to my previous request of being able to disable all contact pictures, I was wondering if you had considered an AMOLED friendly black and white theme?
Wow really nice app..i like your app very much but missing screen wake up feature really bad..plz add it
Nice app. Feels light and fast. Thanks for including a dark theme though I would also like to see a black theme. I hope someone can contribute an updated icon.
I think it not fast than app sms default in Android.
