I've wanted something like this for a long time now. Thank you for building this. Android L will bring native support for this but it's great to have it right now.

Thank you. I'm working to bring it to lower android version.

This app is just what I've been waiting for! I just wanted to point out one thing... On my Galaxy S3 (stock with Touchwiz), when I get a call, sometimes for about 1 second the regular dialer ringing screen appears, then it disappears and is replaced by HandyCall. Is there any way to prevent the stock dialer screen from starting at all?
Also, can you envision doing something similar to handle SMS?

This issue happens on some models. I'm finding the way to fix it.
I will implement sms feature soon. Maybe showing a floating popup to display sms content.
Thank you.

Updated new version.
Added hindi language.
Fixed minor bugs.

I'll give this a shot. I have an HTC One M8 and I'm curious if this will interfere with Dot View functionality. It uses default ringer when locked, so it shouldn't, but I will test this. Thank you!

From the next time please specify which update is for free version and which is for pro version. Anyway thanks for update.

Well, the app does NOT interfere with Dot View functionality, which is awesome, but I do have the aforementioned issue where the default dialer pops up for a couple seconds before Handy Call activates. It just seems to take away from the intent of the app when it sucks you out of what you were doing. Is there a fix for this?

Circle radius should be little bit large .

Yeah well, you are right but it's nothing more than the letter "n". And I shaped the letter myself in Photoshop and didn't really think about nook so I don't think that is a problem in any way.
Edit: Btw. I added some more screenshots and updatet the app but the Market refreshes itself so dawn slow that you can't see it yet.
Nice app really.

Should it wake up the device or even unlock it?
Edit: I already implemented the pop-up. I'll make it an option if you want it to wake or even unlock the phone.
Also you'll be able to choose if you only want the normal notification, only the pop-up or both.
Stay tuned for the next Update
Alright, just updated the app, it might take a minute to show up in the market.
Changelog:
New features:
- Added option to get a popup upon receiving a notification
- Added option to wake or unlock device upon receiving a notification
- Added option to set the notification sound and vibration
Bugfixes:
- fixed minor things
This app is the business!! I've looked for something like this for quite a while, so thank you indeed for creating it.
Now that the pop-up option has been created, the only other suggestion I have is to be able to invert the colours - so that the background is dark and the text is white.
I'm glad you like it
I'm not satisfied with the all white background at the moment so I'll look into it this weekend. Maybe I'll make a black theme as an option too.

Put another update out there.
Changelog:
- List design changes
- Option to choose a black theme
- Fixed text overlapping
- Fixed bug with edit button
- Fixed bug with widget
- Fixed longpress delete button
enjoy
Black theme looks great! Any chance of integration with Google Calendar so the notifications will automatically be imported into it, if at all possible?

Yes - that the notifications created will automatically be exported to Google Calendar. It's not a big issue as the app works great as it is now. It was more if you wanted suggestions on possible further enhancements. I'm in no way an expert on creating apps, but there are calendars on the market that integrate with Googles calendar so it might be possible.
Great work.
Thank You

I'll look into it and if it's not too hard to do I'll implement it. I also thought about some feature to share notifications with other people and the Google Calendar might be the way to go there.

Looks great!!!
But at times the UI looks a bit off-beat ...
Why don't you go for plain HOLO Style ???
Holo style looks sleek, also it will merge with rest of the Android Framework and this app will look as an integrated part of System!!!
Good Work & Keep Deving !!!

Stick to the standard Android UI, that is, Holo.
Mark the SMS as read if the user replies to it.

[APP][4.0+] Obstructer: Phone Privacy Simplified

Everyone knows that feeling when someone asks to use your phone but you're afraid to let them because they can go through everything on it. This is a serious privacy issue within Android; there is no easy way to lend others your phone without them being able to go through it. That's why I created Obstructer, an app for Android that blocks access to your device's content when you let others use your phone. It works by disabling the home button, the recent app screen and the notification bar. This makes everything on your phone inaccessible until you enter a password that opens when the call is ended.

Hello,
I've tried this app on my Xperia Z1 Compact and I have a few security flaws: The recents button is not disabled and when using Google Keyboard, you can long press the spacebar to get into the settings app. Also, you should probably disable the camera button. The lockscreen is a major security flaw too :/ Oh yeah, and I forgot to add that it shows the Sony dialer when calling a number
Regards,
Random
Mostly works as intended.
The main weakness of this app is that one can easily uninstall the app by going to settings from a insecure lockscreen.
A lock widget will be a great idea.

Did you set it as the default launcher? This is the source of the problem most of the time. Also, it has to use the phone's dialer; there's no way that can be changed unfortunately. The lockscreen issue has been brought to my attention and I will create a default lockscreen to solve this problem.
Very nice

I took the time to edit your current icon and make it look a bit more detailed. I sure hope you like it if not its fine I do this for fun not a living :fingers-crossed:

But it sure does look better than before IMO :good:
Also if you need anything else just let me know. I can edit and email it to you whenever.

Eh, I love the new icons you made. The thing is, the "x" was designed to show how the app blocks your access, which is why it looks squared off. Plus I really don't like flat icons. Make the red darker, give it a more 3D look, make a squared "x" and I'll consider it.
home button problems
There is a problem on xperia z1. I can exit app by just pressing "home" button (with "backward" button no problems).

FAQ
Q: The app crashed!
A: Please click the 'Report' button on the force close dialog - this lets me view a crash log. If you don't want to do this, please pull a logcat and either post it in the thread or PM it to me. I can't fix the error if I don't know what it is. Thanks!
Q: I would like to see feature X and Y
A: Awesome! Just post in this thread and I'll get back to you ASAP.

like the idea but its crashing before it sets up every time, im in the HTC m8.
Great job man, I really love the concept. But could you give us an option to change the icon size of the app drawer.

Problem Here,
Its Force Closing On 4.4.2 Kitkat.
Not Even Starting.
Is This App Compatible With Kitkat?
Thanks Anyways
the feel very happy very nice and clear
Not working on my LG G2
Setup works fine but after that keeps on crashing, Love the concept but can't try this due to some error, Dev please fix it in your free time :highfive:
So I tested it for 3 minutes. This is what I would say.
The home screen, is this a home screen I mean there should be option to directly switch to app drawer.
Icon size of apps are large I would consider using small size.
Limit on no. of apps, this shouldn't be added as premium feature.
No widgets.
Shouldn't weather location be auto set & even if we type in search box there should be suggestions coming up.
In this initial test didn't find usage of the smart switch off Internet on/off.
This isn't a launcher at all, in launcher there is beautiful app drawer. This thing needs much improvement, I guess it would become my primary browser when v3.0 will come.
Seems to look good. Clean, minimalist, simple, but won't run on my Xperia Z 6603, stock, rooted 4.3.

Hey Bishal, yes it should be compatible with Kitkat - I tested it on a Nexus 4 with 4.4.2. Would you be able to get me a logcat or could you please report the crash? Thanks!

HI Me_Ashish,
Thanks for trying it out! In regards to your concerns, the target audience for this launcher are not power users - it's a simplified launcher for those who want a simpler phone. However, I can add some of the features you requested into the next version:
1) Automatic location detection
2) Ability to directly switch to app drawer.
Also, or the internet to automatically switch off, you have to enable NetManage. Additionally, the internet will switched off 5 minutes after your screen is turned off.
Thanks again for the feedback!
On the Xperia 6603, setup starts with name and loops (fc-restart at name again), endlessly. BTW, I don't have a owner profile on my contacts app.... Will get logcat next time I run it, its 1am & tomorrow is Monday, need 2 sleep...

FAQ/Information:
This application is based on open-source application "Signal" 3.1.1 https://github.com/WhisperSystems/Signal-Android (not the last version, because the last is slooooooww), but I removed the encryption to send SMS, all encryption call features, integrated smileys, for a better, lighter and faster application.
The application take long time the first launch
Close the application and relaunch it.
Why use QuickSMS and not Signal ?
I have "created" this application because all available SMS applications don't give me satisfaction, and I have discovered Signal and it's a good application, but I don't care about all features like the encryption, I want only the essential, so this is the reason of QuickSMS…
I have a force close…
Provide me a logcat please
I want see your code !
Just here https://github.com/Valbonjv/QuickSMS.git
Please do an effort when you write the description of QuickSMS, there is spelling mistakes everywhere…
Sorry I'm french
Can I help you ?
Yes, if you can make me a new logo, it's will be cool

Its definitely quick, good work.
I'm sure you will add more customization in the future.
I'd love to see the ability to hide contact photos so that it is just text only.
Thanks for your work ?

New issue
One week after the installation of QuickSMS, a popup appear to rate Signal app (because QuickSMS is based on this app), just ignore it, sorry for this inconvenient
In future update I will delete this popup.
Nice app. I have two suggestions:
- An option in settings to open popup on pressing notification(instead of opening the app)
- Improving animations (the slide one is not very smooth)
Keep up the good work
Going to test this app.
Thx Val'
EDIT off topic :
What's your keyboard, I see a simple characters one with row numbers
EDIT 2 on topic and personnal feedback :
- For the keyboard the touch "Entrée" (in french) is missing, I need it !
- The conversation of a blocked contact is still visible in conversation list, I would prefered that the conv' was hidden.
Other than, simple and fast app, keep it like that
Great work :good:
Y'a du potentiel :hap:

It's the Google keyboard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin&hl=fr
If you want the touch "Entrée", touch a long time the smiley key
Ok, I'll think about it
Thank you

Why isn't this app in the Google play store?
@Valbon
New update is running well, I'm running this on mine and my girlfriends phone now.
In addition to my previous request of being able to disable all contact pictures, I was wondering if you had considered an AMOLED friendly black and white theme?
Wow really nice app..i like your app very much but missing screen wake up feature really bad..plz add it
Nice app. Feels light and fast. Thanks for including a dark theme though I would also like to see a black theme. I hope someone can contribute an updated icon.
I think it not fast than app sms default in Android.
