Device Just Stopped Working - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey guys. So a month ago I was using my device like normal and noticed it was getting a little low on battery. I put it up for the night and started to charge it. The next morning I pulled if off the charge and noticed that the unit did not want to turn on. I figured that I had it plugged into my phone charger and since the TF700 is a pain and only likes certain charges I checked and plugged it into the OEM charger and left the unit there to charge while I went into work.
I got home that day and realized that the tablet was not charging at all. I figured that the sync/charge port got messed up, since I have 3 LARGE dogs that constantly hit things off the table, so I did what any XDA member would do, pulled up iFixit, and tore apart the unit to get the part number on the cable.
A week later I get the part in and swap everything out and guess what, still nothing. I had the unit plugged in over night and nothing at all. No LED lights turn on or anything.
Finally, I decided to pull my brothers TF700 apart to check the cable and both the ones I have work....soooo ???
What else can I do? I might just part everything out but really just want to get the unit working again.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] TF battery no longer charging. Any suggestions?

It looks like the battery on my TF is refusing to charge. Started all of a sudden last night. I tried to turn it on and it didn't come on even though I didn't use it much,so I figured the battery may have drained somehow. I plugged the charger and sure enough I was able to boot the transformer but the battery is not charging and it displays an exclamation mark on the battery icon. It is showing 0% charge for over a day now even though I had it plugged in all this time. I tried turning it off and keeping it on but it doesn't make any difference and it doesn't charge. I tried full factory reset but it didn't help. The exclamation point stays on the battery icon and it is not charging. It works when plugged in but shut off as soon as I unplug. I don't think it is the charger because the same charger charges the dock just fine. So I am afraid that it must be the tablet issue. Any suggestions before I start the RMA process? Thanks.
That's weird. Mine started doing the same thing in the last day as well. Won't charge either when plugged in via the dock or the tablet.
Anyone got any ideas?
Edit to add: Ah, got it working. Seems that unplugging the adaptor and waiting half an hour seems to reset some trip or other. Odd, because it doesn't seem too hot when I leave it plugged in.

Good for you... unfortunately this trick doesn't work for mine. Had it unplugged fo hours, plugged it back in and same thing. The dock charges fine so I don't think it is an adapter. The TF is not charging if plugged in or docked on the kb. Tried to take off adapter prongs and re-seat it and still same problem. Adapter doesn't seem hot at all.
I had a question mark as well. I ended up sending it in. It did happen right after the battery was very low and I tried to turn it on, while the adapter for some reason was not connecting (it happens every now and then that mine does not connect). So I think it had something to do with that - battery got too low.
In addition the tablet was no longer recognizing the dock - it would just show the question mark and the dock did not work.
Anyway, I sent mine in, and requested they address the battery drain issue (which at that point was just announced in the Asus Facebook UK page). Came back fixed ... first the tablet - and they found no problem with it, then the dock about a week or little more later - cambe back working with no battery drain issue.

Thanks for the response, not sure if you had a typo or if you had something different. I actually have an exclamation point (!) not a question mark on mine. Just called ASUS support to get an RMA. Was on hold for close to 40 minutes until someone finally picked up. The guy was like a robot, but I guess it was expected. Told him about charging issue with TF and about my dock not switching to battery saving mode (I have one of the first models) and he said to send both in for repairs. I asked if I should use the original packaging he said I was responsible for packaging. I said I understand that and if I use the original boxes from TF and dock, will I get them back? He said no... I guess I will just have to wrap them well and use other boxes. I am wondering how others sent them and if you got your original boxes back. I mean it has serial number and other numbers on it that I may need.

[Q] Triumph suddenly dead!

A few hours ago my girlfriend was just looking at her Triumph (was watching for messages so she wasn't actually doing anything on it) when the screen turned off. Now it wont turn back on. Have tried the power button, turning on the bootloader, and removing the battery for 5 minutes. No matter what we can't get the phone to turn back on. Any ideas on what has just happened? The phone is rooted with gingerbreak with titanium backup installed. That's it. We got the phone at Best Buy and this is our second phone. We're probably past our 30 days so this kind of bugs me! Any idea what we can do from here? Any other tricks to try?
As a quick update, Best Buy tells me that an Exchange counts as an original transaction. So I'm only 17 days into my "new" transaction. I can't believe neither of these Triumphs have lasted more than three weeks :\
Did you have it connected to the charger while using it? I have noticed it gets very hot even without the charger being plugged in. It may have over heated. Just a thought. Good luck. Let us know what happens.

No, the charger wasn't connected at the time. It was just sitting there with the screen on. The Significant Other wonder why it wouldn't turn off so she hit the power button and it didn't do anything. Finally the screen just went black but the backlight was still obviously on so she pulled the battery and put it back in. From there, she pushed the power button and the virgin mobile logo came on and nothing else. She had to remove the battery again. She put the battery back in once more and was able to get the Virgin mobile logo one more time. It froze after the logo and she pulled the battery one more time. After that the phone refused to turn on at all. When connected to the charger it doesn't do anything. Still completely lights out on the phone.
Man that sucks. I hope your able to find a fix.

Same thing happened to me the other day. I let my Triumph lose all its battery to charge it back up 100% (performing a full battery charge cycle), and it will no longer turn on. even when I have it plugged in the red light indicator will not light up most of the time.
Funny thing is, this is also my second exchange from best buy and luckily im still within 30 days and i have a replacement plan. I really suggest getting the replacement plan (its $30, good for a $300 phone), because unlike best buys other mobile protection plans, you dont pay monthly, you're covered for 2 years, and if you get tired of getting the same phone, they will give you a $300 store credit card.
You know my phone did something similar, my phone died and when i went to plug up the charger i got nothing. I think there might be something wrong with the charging ports on these phones, try wiggling the charger while its plugged in, thats what i did and it finally took a charge

upon closer inspection of the charging port, i noticed the female micro usb port was actually pushed further inside, thus preventing most chargers to work. I found a rocketfish charging adapter from best buy that seems to work perfect while my other cable didnt work at all.
As an update, we went back to best buy and sure enough they count the exchange as a new transaction, so I was only 17 days into my second transaction. They exchanged me another phone on the spot and so now we're on the third triumph. GPS checked out ok and the MEID was the correct length. The screen is the worst of the 3 (some pretty bad backlight bleed out onto the screen itself from the sides). I was picky about it but the gf isn't since you can't even see it unless the screen is completely black. So we'll see how this one holds out!
My guess is as was assumed, the battery wasn't getting charged. When the battery was removed for 30 minutes or more we were able to get the logo to show up and nothing more. My guess was the charger wasn't making contact anymore. We wouldn't want to keep a phone like that anyways but it seems like this might be a problem for these phones.
Every once in awhile mine will not power back on. It happened to me a couple of times shortly after I bought the phone.
I tried pulling the battery a couple of times and powering back up, no go.
What worked... remove battery, press power button for a couple of secs, replace battery, power back up. Has worked every time... so far.
My guess is need to drain some capacitors or that I had invoked part of boot recovery sequence without finishing?

Have you noticed the "I just broke my Triumph's Screen"- post? We'll If you saw my cracked Triumph, well that's another issue that I just discovered. The battery drained all the way and now it will not take a charge anymore. This is the exact same problem OP is having. Regarding this issue I will open up my phone sooner or later when I get a new one and take pics. I don't mind seeing wth is in there, maybe everything's held up by Elmer's glue lol. I'll make sure to let everyone know hopefully I'll do this within a couple days.
It seems like dead
If Motorola and VMUSA are not serious about resolving issues for Triumph then this phone will be dead anyways - customers won't be buying those. The number of returns are far more than new purchase. It seems like Motorola stopped manufacturing these.
So this phone will either get Ice Cream Sandwich update or it is end of life for this phone.

Tablet Won't charge

I just got my tablet returned to me from Asus after the screen cracked. I got them to fix it no problem. I was also trying to get some repairs done on the keyboard dock but that shut off my tablet and sometimes smoke up. I decided then to return the keyboard to best buy and they let me exchange it for another one. The new keyboard worked fine and I was thinking all my previous problems were related to it. A few days ago I woke up and noticed my tablet and new keyboard were not charged all the way. I did not think much of it. That night I tried to charge both of them but neither device would charge. I figured it was the USB cord as one of the black edges fell off and it looked pretty warn. It would still charge, it was just the tablet said it was not charging and it seemed slower. I bought another USB cord from Amazon and tried to charge the tablet with that cord. At this point my tablet is actually dead. I am trying to charge it now but it still will not start up. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I may be able to fix it. I really enjoy using Android on my tablet but Asus hardware keeps falling apart on me.
Edit: I did manage to get it to start after I unplugged it. After it started, it told me the battery is at 0% and shut off. I am now trying the old cord now.
Edit2: The old one got it to 1% but again the charging is much slower then it use to be

Inspire is DEAD. grrr.. Help?

So my phone battery was dieing. In fact the phone powered itself off. So I went to plug it into my car charger, but the charger port (on the car adapter) was damaged so i never plugged it in. Instead I grabbed a usb charger out of the glove box that I had bought on ebay and never used before. I plugged it in, saw the big battery icon and a few seconds later the phone booted up and I saw the HTC logo. I left the truck and went back to work. When I got doe about an hour later I discovered the charge light on the phone was no longer lit and the phone would not respond to pushing the power button. At this point I figured I killed the battery and would need to try to charge it manually when I got home.
Upon getting home I put the battery in my wifes inspire. It curiously charged it up no problem. So I put the charged battery back in my phone and nothing. It wont do anything. I tried her battery, nothing. No lights, no vibe no nothing. Like the battery is completely dead... But its not.
I actually just bought this phone used about 2 weeks ago its been workign great until now. Im really bummed. I had 2 atrix's get the boot loop problem and another phones screen went. All in the last 3 months.. so annoying.
Im figuring that the usb charger might have an over-volted output and somethign got fried? I have no idea but if anyone can help me that would be great.. I've spent almost 400 in phones in the last 4 months
Thanks!

Also all covers must be on (sim) (battery) to turn on. Sorry dont know what to tell you, phone may have bit the dust. When you left it in the truck charging was it a hot sunny day. You may have damaged internal hardware. If you purchased phone on ebay open a claim against seller. I had a phone I purchased for 400 that kept frying the battery. Ebay made seller refund money back.
See if you can hboot power up holding power button and volume down button at same time.

Woke up to a dead i727

Hi Guys,
I need thought my own Sky would give me problems since i take care of it so well :crying:
So last night i put the phone on my night table to charge, it had 9% battery left and the phone beeped since i plugged the charger and it was charging, now in the morning when i realize i'm late for work, i went to check my phone and it was dead(no alarm this morning). It was all plugged in still the charger and battery. Now i got to work and a work partner has a Sky too, i tested his battery on my Sky and nothing, tested my battery on his Sky and worked so my battery is fine(it was 100%), i tested my charger on his Sky and charged, i tested his charger on mine and nothing.
Tried plugging the phone with only usb cable to the pc without battery to reach download mode or recovery but nothing.
Now since our batteries are fine and chargers, im assuming my motherboard died which i was thinking if the battery would work it was going to be the charging port.
Is there a way to test each part of the phone o be more accurate about this issue?
Thanks in advance.

The phone won't do anything at all, i have fixed Sky's power button before and this is really weird. Stock Rom/Kernel, it was Android 4.1.2 and i have it for like 1year and 6 months.
If you need anything else let me know.
One more thing that could help, lately i noticed that the phone wasn't charging as fast as usual.I installed the Skyrocket charging app and when i plugged the charger to the phone it would say Fast Charge A/C 900~ mA and after like 30 seconds it would go down to 800, 700, 600 and then say Charger Wakelock 500~ mA.
Im really starting to think my board died.
Dead board. It happened to me on another Samsung phone a few weeks go. Came home from a day of fun. Put phone on table and plugged it in. Went to bed. Woke up to a completely non responsive phone. Got a new battery just in case. Still nothing. It was a great phone too. Oh well at least it died in it's sleep. lol
it happened to my sons s2 i9100, went to charge it and when he went back to it and it was dead, got it repaired under ext. warranty but cant find invoice on what they fixed if they even stated what they fixed, my guess mobo

OH Jesus Christ, i'll try to get a new mobo then and update this.
And i'll lose all my data and will have to restore a Kies Backup from May-2013. Great!:highfive::victory: :crying:
Had this happen once or twice. It turned out that the usb port on the bottom of the phone had some junk that accumulated in there as well as some signs of minor corrosion, and was not making a good connection anymore. It just needed to be cleaned out. First, I think I just (very carefully) used a needle or safety pin or something like that to gently extract the lint/dust/crap out of the port, and then cleaned up the metal connectors in the port, and one of the back inside corners where I saw a little bit of green/white build up, with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol. I let it sit for a little bit to make sure it was dry and when I plugged it in, it started charging again. I happened to have an Optivisor lying around which made it a bit easier to see what I was doing, but it isn't necessary. The most annoying part was getting a small, focused beam of light from a flashlight into the port at just the right angle, and then figuring out how to keep it there while I worked. Shouldn't take long, and as long as you don't do something really dumb, it can't hurt to give it a try.
Except that he ruled that out by swapping batteries with his friends phone.
