LOL. perhaps you should think before posting. You presume the only materials available out there are glass and plastic
Look around pal the world is full of different materials.
I own note 3, 5S, HTC One, Xperia ZL, Xperia SP fyi.....All in pristine condition, bit of care goes along way in protecting your phone.

Metal is heavier and gets scratched and scuffed easier, not to mention the shock the phone will take if its all metal hitting the floor.
Poly-carbonate wouldn't be bad though.

I am not really sure where you are going with this. Are you complaining because the Note 3 is made from plastic?
If so bear in mind that ALUMINIUM is not a premium material. After all it's what your average cola can is made of. Glass is also not a premium material, the toughened screen glass obviously is, and that is what you see on the Note.
Polycarbonate on the other hand is not a 'cheap' plastic. It is indeed the same plastic that is used for safety equipment like motorcycle helmets, visors, machine guards etc. That's for a reason... It's durable, scratch resistant, flexible, lightweight and easy to mould in a manufacturing process.
So I agree that it's not the ONLY durable material out there (you seem to imply I said that when I didn't) but it's far more resistant to damage than aluminium and glass, which as far as I know are the only other materials used in phones right now.
Maybe you would like one made from solid oak with a carbon fibre covering a granite back and a stainless steel bezel. I am guessing not.

Probably the best drop test I've seen. Much better than random drops. I really thought the iPhone 5S would do better because the random drop test done by (I think Android Authority of the iPhone 5) showed that iPhone 5 was nearly unbreakable. I guess it was the test that was flawed.

I have seen more iPhones with broken screens than any galaxy line.

Very cool, but kinda what I figured. iPhone is heavier and more likely to have a heavier impacted hitting the ground.

You're the one who initially ONLY suggested plastic is durable, polycarbonate can look good but samsung have a skill for making plastic look even cheaper and fragile then it actually is. Take Htc for example who also also use polycarbonate but it doesn't look, feel or sound cheap or fragile in comparison to samsung phones. Why can't samsung do that? It's simple they are cheap skates, consumer gets less for their money.

Im pleasantly surprised knowing note 3 is much bigger and heavier, but i dropped my note 2 face first and yep it cracked but the display is still fine. no scratches visible to me on the rest of the body so i figure note 3 will be better.
wonder if the galaxy round can save glass covers?

Plastic is fine. Phones are tools here and I take good care of my tools. Accidents can and do happen. A cracked screen on a drop like that is epic fail.

I got one of these and hated the texture -- it is not glossy or smooth in any way
If they use 3M di-noc, then the texture is rather nice.
how does it feel when touching the screen, is it tacky?
Does it degrade the graphics any?
I generally hate screen protectors because the feel is all wrong and they degrade images too much. but man does this thing pick up fingerprints.

I don't use the screen protector (Imo the wet apply suck beyond imagination) as it is tacky and can be permanently damaged relatively easily. Generally my shirt works wonders for cleaning off fingerprints.

Just going to throw this in. I have an armor suit screen protector and it is by far the best feeling and most durable protector you will find. I was the same way with my TP for the first 8 months or so until the case on the TP starting cracking and it became the Franken TouchPad with super glue and vinyl skin to hold it together. I was going with only a sleeve for protection but now I'm back to my beat up and warped custom fit case from August of last year, as it is very versatile for being on campus. For some reason,in myTP ownership it's only had one big spill, after which the digitizer was hosed (and repaired). I probably drop my phone once a week, but I seem to have an iron grasp on the TP (knock on wood).

Galaxy S4 Diztronic TPU Case Review

Diztronic has been a favorite case manufacturer of mine for some time. With the release of the Galaxy S4, Diztronic released their line of cases for it. As usual, the Galaxy S4 Diztronic case is well made and the fit is all but perfect. With eight different colors and shades available, you are sure to find one that fits your tastes. At only $9.99 with Amazon Prime shipping, this case is truly a steal.

Thanks. I have the matte black on an actual phone and the bottom mic cutout is perfectly aligned and centered unlike in your video (which you make mention of). Just an FYI. Best S4 case out right now.

Would be a nice case if the matte black wasn't gloss black in the front.
Just received this case - it's fantastic.
Feels great, fixes the 'slimy' feel of the S4. Fits very well, all cutouts are perfectly positioned and I like that it covers the buttons as well. They're not too tough to hit either.

Sorry to hear you don't like the design choice, I personally think the glossy lip is what makes the case look so great!
Regarding mic hole positioning, it's spot on (at least on every case I've tested). If yours is centered you simply need to re-seat the case, it doesn't always go on straight since it's a flexible material.
Diztronic style is rather simple, I do like simple product.

I personally wouldn't recommend these cases at all. My experience appears to be somewhat of an isolated one, but it fell waist-high on concrete and shattered my Galaxy Nexus. If you think dropping your phone is even a possibility I wouldn't get this case, and if you don't think you'd drop your device then why get a case?

Thin/minimalistic cases help to prevent everyday wear and tear on the phone, small scratches, scuff marks, etc. I am not expecting this case to prevent my phone's screen from cracking if I drop it onto concrete (I don't think it was designed for that and the manufacturer has certainly never claimed that). However, I don't drop my phone so that's not really a concern. I do expect this case though to prevent minor scratches and keep the phone protected from everyday wear and tear and so far, it has performed perfectly in that regard.
OneStepAhead: Do you have any plans for making Diztronic cases with ridged surfaces? It seems like one of the most common criticisms is that the smooth finish makes the case slippery. Thanks

I would use a razor blade. I usually heat it up to help it glide through the TPU.
I have owned Diztronic cases for every phone I've ever owned since they started making thjem back as TPU Cases.
For a simply wonderfully protective non bulky case there is nothing better IMHO..and I have bought plenty of other cases to try them.
I have arthritis in both thumbs...I drop things including phones. I have dropped every phone I have owned numerous times and never once have I had anything break in a TPU case from these folks...be it on the ceramic floor in the kitchen, wood floors in the dining room or on pavement in the driveway or on the road.
Could you break a phone dropping it in one of these? Of course if it falls just right. I bet you I have dropped my S3, No9te 2 and now my S4 at least two dozen times between them and nothing has broken or bent. Nada.
They fit to perfection as well.
They certainly aren't slippery...course I am always using the mat black variety.

i just PM'd him asking if that would be an option later down the road. Of course I sent it before searching this thread smh
i guess a razor blade would work pretty easy... If i do it, ill post up pics afterwards.
Had this case for the LG Optimus G, but I do not like how it doesn't cover around the camera area, unlike the UAG cases...
Just tried this case with my Spigen Glas.tr and it doesn't work. The bezel of the case comes too far onto the phone. So the case is kind of bulging out from the sides of the phone because it's hitting the edge of the screen protector. This makes hitting the power button and volume buttons more difficult.

Enjoy.
I have the knockoff version of lifeproof. If the real one is better, outside of the feel of the case in your hand, I imagine it will be better than the seidio obex.
The sound solution of the fake lifeproof is better than the seidio obex.
The case on the fake one hasn't been dinged up like the seidio obex.
And lastly, the fake lifeproof's cheap screen hasn't been scratched up by anything and I drop it in with keys all the time.
Here is my review with some photos of the fake one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427099
The real one seems to have a real button over the home as opposed to the fake. I hope the side volume and power buttons are more responsive. I imagine that it will have a warranty like for the iphone 5 - I also imagine it will have better quality plastic/rubber/tpu than the fake one.
I'm excited. Trying to decide if I am going to drop what will probably be another 80 dollars on another waterproof case.
Dammit!! lol I literally just ordered a love mei case. Oh well I'll get it and keep it until this one comes out. Hopefully they release this case a lot faster than they did the s3 one.

Well, the obex feels really nice in the hand. It's shaped nicely and has a good rubber part for gripping. In regards to design in shape and form factor, I think obex is better.
But I know that obex has some sound distortion issues and albeit it might be the case for all waterproof cases. I have the a fake lifeproof and it doesn't have any sound distortion, it might be not as loud, but it doesn't have this vibration / buzz with high pitched noises. The obex can play most music without problems but my higher pitched notifications sound weird.
I expect lifeproof to offer a limited device warranty like they do for the iphone 5 cases, which seidio doesn't have.
Both are going to be otherwise the same in regards to drop rating(2 meters - mil 810-f/g) and waterproof rating (ip 68).
Outside of aesthetics and the feel of the case, the lifeproof will have the warranty and better sound solution. You may prefer the obex because it "feels" better. I don't know about the durability of the case or screen protector yet of the lifeproof, but the obex's screen protector can get damaged rather easily and the case can get buffed and scratched up / permanent creases easily as well. The later being more of an aesthetic thing. However, you do have to treat the obex with some care. Lifeproof may be the same way.
I'm not sure if you can install the nud with a screen protector on, if not your screen obviously is at risk of scratch damage.
It sounds like it will be a nice case but there is a whole lot of speculation going on. "Expects" and "guesses" aside, it will be interesting to here an unbiased review once the actual case gets released. This is definitely not an attack against the OP, because everyone has an opinion and a user experience, but i think it is important to keep speculation separate from fact. And, anyone that has read the OP's opinion on the OBEX case (in one of the OBEX threads) can definitely tell bias (and that is OK, we all have our favorites). At this point I'm going to wait for the case to be released and see how it actually preforms in direct comparison to the OBEX and other similar cases. And because it hasn't been released yet, that can't be done yet.

Obex:
Fact: Keys in pocket + case + 1 day = scratches on case, abrasions / creases on the screen protector.
Fact: 1 day at the beach = 1 or 2 sand pock marks = it must have got a few granules on the screen and somehow the pressure of being against my wallet pressed those granules into the protector.
I doubt I could do a direct comparison to OBEX. So you're right, it is definitely a "bias" based on poor performance that I admittedly would never put another 80 dollar case through. LOL.
I am certain that my review caused the vast majority of the users here to treat their OBEX more carefully than before, and they are having a great/better experience than myself - which is good.
OUTSIDE of the above - the following is opinion that I really don't think is biased. In regards to the sound and the warranty, I think there is enough of a track record that those two things will be true from prior models.
The sound solution and the warranty is what I base what Lifeproof's advantage will be over the seidio.
I believe the lifeproof won't feel as good in the hand as the obex.
As I said before, I don't know about the materials otherwise. I consider these to be equal until proven otherwise.
Anyone use the case on the s3? How long did It take to scratch the screen to hell?is it replaceable? If not maybe better off to get the nudde model to change out the screen? They should use glass!!!!!! Oh well someone will come out with one and is WATERPROOF

it's a device warranty with a deductible.
http://www.lifeproof.com/en/total-water-protection-program
It's 1 year probably because wear and tear render the case less water protective over time. The snappy ends that the obex have are similar to the lifeproof.
There is a seal at the bottom created by a foam like waterproof insert against the bottom entrance for the lifeproof iphone 5 variant.
The obex has a rubber plug like mechanism.
Personally, I know how the liefproof feels in the hand because my wife has one, and my friend has one for the GS3, unless there's a major design change with different mats (which I doubt looking at the picture). The obex definitely feels better in the hand.

I have the slate and I really like how they shared the original look of the phone with the chamfered edges and making them glossy. As far as scratches go, I already had some before I started using the case just from being in my pocket. Besides that, I can't see those scratches when its in the case. And for anyone to think that this shiny polished edge will never get a scratch on it is absurd. A case is probably the worst thing for it if you ever get some dirt or dust in there.

I went thru them and got discount screen protectors.
I don't have a note 4 anymore but still have the blue case

That case scratched the crap out of my metal bezels. Myself and a ton of folks had this problem. I would not use it.

mine too on my retail. now rocking kays case without any issues
Same here. Love the look and feel of the case but I have a ton of little scratches on the top on my metal frame. Ridiculous.

Right. People are going crazy on spigen and complaining but it's samsung the one that made the soft metal bezel. I have the Capsule case and I love it and yeah I have a few tiny scratches but if you think another case won't do the same thing you are sadly mistaken. I hit my bezel with some polish wax and now you can barely see the scratches. Slapped my case back on and I'm good to go. Not worried about resale value anyway of the device since they have none as it is. I love the case.

Case as thin as Peel (Iphone only) for the Note 7

Hi,
I am on the hunt for a premium case that is not edgy and super thin for the Note.
If you have ever seen Peel its like that.
Anyone?
I Just pulled the trigger on the cali case
We shall see.
I am using a slick wraps natrual leather skin right now and honestly, for the first time I dont think these work with the Notes sharp curve off. Its sad but on the S7 Edge it was perfection. Just a bit too on the side rather than fully down turned on the note. Kind of ruins the feel.
And yes I burndished the crap out of all edge prior.

I got the calicase. Very very thin. Not the most attractive plastic and a bit slippery but adds hardly any weight or thickness to the device. Also doesn't show fingerprints which is what drives me mad with the clear cases.

I got this one as a review unit from Choetech so I'm speaking from personal experience. Not sure if it is as thin as Peel but it is very thing

Using the Choe now. I like it but all clear TPU cases look so cheap to me. If you are going clear TPU though, this is the one. Its much thinner than most.
I really just want a leather case (non wallet) that is super thin. They just don't seem to exist.
Edit: The CaliCase ultra thin does seem to be the equivalent of what OP mentioned the Peel to be to iPhone. Here is the product link:

and the more i read over all the "thinnest case" threads, I think this is the case that takes the cake. Below was my recommendation for a nice thin case with minimal protection that also has a great texture, but this CaliCase is a full protection case.

Bear Motion case is incredible and has a very awesome micro grip texture. I don't know how else to say it but I really recommend giving this case a try. it will not protect the front screen and I prefer a screen protector to do that. it is minimal coverage and very slim, feels great in my medium sized hands.

I have the calicase. It is VERY thin, and has a good feel to it. The two downsides I see so far are it offers little to no protection from drops, and it isn't clear. It is a cloudy clear, and doesn't show the dbrand skin I have.
