Hey,
What do you guys use/recommend for a slim fascinate case? I like the ones that have part of the top and bottom recessed. I also would like to now your opinions on cases with kickstands.
Thanks.

The OEM Fascinate Kickstand case works well, and adds about a mm of thickness. Kickstand works well. I've dropped the phone about twice on concrete, no damage on the phone and a few dings on the case
Sent from a Limited Edition phone from a Premium app..
How does the kickstand last over time and being dropped?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Incipio has an awesome thin case
The kickstand doesn't potrude out so it stays smooth along the surface of the case. I haven't had any issues with it at all. I've never dropped it in its kickstand position, because.......your not supposed to move it when its in kickstand position. But the kickstand is firmly attached to the case, so no worries about breaking it off unless you force it off yourself. Everyone who has used it mostly has good things to say about it.

Here it is.
I would recommend an otterbox case. I have the cheapest one, it is thin and I have dropped it numerous times- no damage

I recently got the Seido Active-X. Really happy with it.
IMO, the best case out there:
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/csk3ssfas-rd.htm
great protection, slides in and out of pocket easily, and looks great.
Thought I'd just pitch in with this:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Fasci...sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=mobile&qid=1303942589&sr=8-7
It's quite slim, fits in my pocket easily, it has a nice feel to it, and it's probably one of the cheapest options. I've gone through a few cases with this phone but I never really like the way they made the phone feel. This case on the other hand make the phone feel reeeaal comfy. I actually prefer having it on as opposed to leaving the phone naked.
The only real problems I have with it are that it's a bit of a lint collector and small
parts of the spine may need to be filed down (little sharp bits of excess plastic).
I have the incipio one and i love it. It also can be removed easily if using a dock. I will be picking up a second one actually in a different color I like it so much. It is also only 1mm thick but still provides plenty of protection.
I like the seido ones as well but to me too bulky. My wife loves it though.

I have the OEM Kickstand case and have had nothing but good experiences with it. I've dropped my fascinate once on concrete and there's nothing but a scuff on the edge of the case to show for it. It's sturdy and obviously fits the phone very well. The kickstand is sturdy as well. If you listen to music or watch video the kickstand allows you to access the screen without laying the phone down and covering the speaker.
If you really want a super thin case I have the Case Mate Barely There case and it is amazingly thin and has worked great for me so far.

Orderd this one with the blue backing. Real nice, and durable. Phone is really protected without adding too much bulk.
search amazon for TPU Fascinate you'll get really good cases, they fit very snug on the phone and are slim, shock absorbing and scratch resistant
I had one of those for my droid x. I liked it for the first week or so and then I got the vzw carbon fiber case

I've been very really happy with my incipio feather case. I like the "rubber-like back," and out just thick enough to protect the camera lens, which is all I was really concerned about.

So my flat black tpu case by Diztronic came today and let me tell you it is hands down better than anything out there and I could not be more pleased. I am comparing this to the Rearth slim case I was using and before that I also had the Ebay S line case for a couple days and while that case is also tpu, it is truly ghetto compared to this Diztronic. The fit is perfect and while buttons are covered there is still little effort needed to push them unlike many tpu cases. The feel of the case on the phone is also on the premium side and the matte black back does not attract fingerprints either. The other great feature about this case is the slightly raised lip going around the screen which is just right for anyone wanting to play music/put their phone face down. All of this is had with virtually no added bulk either. I highly recommend this case and know you will be happy with it.

It definitely looks better than the "S" TPU case, but does it offer more protection in your opinion.
It seems from your pics the lips on the front are higher than the ones on the "S"?
How good is the fit? would you say it's tight? Does the case come off easily?
Looks good, might still purchase this, although it looks exactly the same as the I-Blason case I have on my N4 already.
Hows the call quality? People complained about the official N4 bumper ruining the microphone quality so I'm wondering if it happens with this too.
I have one of these on order myself.
Would you say the Diztronic is significantly better than the Ringke Rearth Slim case? I've got the Ringke case and it doesn't fit as tight as it could around the volume rocker, too much play for my liking. Also my girlfriend hates how the four corners stick up a little from the screen (to protect the screen if its face down) she says they poke her in the ear on phone calls... Wish I had bought two of the Diztronic cases now

I don't have a case at all and I have to position the phone in a certain position on my face for anyone to hear me as it is. If a case or bumper further negates from the call quality I am going to have to pass. Even though I already ordered this and it should be here soon.
1. The call quality is not affected I already had two calls with the case on and it sounds great.
2. The lip is raised a bit more than the S case but not overly done, it will not bother you at all
3. This case feels very good on the phone, it is easy to get off it your actually trying to take it off other that that there is no annoying flex from the tpu or anything like the cheap ones (S case)
4. This is much better that the rearth slim because having this on gives me the feeling of better protecting just by how it feels in the hand and protects the entire bezel which a slim case does not do.
I may order the Diztronic shell case when that come out next week too
I think the stock bumper is stupid anyways
Haven't tried any other case for the nexus 4.but this diztronic case is easily the highest quality tpu I've ever used... Feels great. Love it.

it's definitely not the same as the i-blason case. I have two i-blason and the diztronic. the diztronic is sooo much better. i used to use their case on my gnex. very good quality.
Got my case yesterday. It fits nicely, has a good feel and looks pretty good too. Doesn't really add much bulk. The seams on 2 corners on the other hand seem a bit shoddy and looks like it might peel away over time. Curious to know if anyone else's case is like that too. Will contact Diztronic and see what they say.
I'm debating whether I should purchase this case in black or the smoke color

Just received mine as well, and YES THIS IS THE BEST CASE OUT THERE FOR THE N4 IMO
in every aspect, design, feel, protection this case is definitely the best, glad I bought this case.
Just got one. Great looking case and real nice feel. My XtremeGuard screen protector peels a bit on the corners. Any suggestions on screen protectors that wouldn't have this issue?

I would get the black one, I also thought about the smoke color since it allows you to see the nexus logo on the back which is pretty attractive. But the Distronic logo kinda overlayed the LG logo and that's a no-no for me. But since Distronic has a no-hassle free return policy, you can always return it if you're not satisfied with your purchase.
My Nexus 4 case review.
I'm going to do a little case review for all my N4 cases: Official bumper; Mercury TPU case; XDA-developers TPU case, Meifeng Hard skin cover, and Ringke Fusion Premium Hybrid Hard Case.
Let's get started, hopefully this could help you guys when choosing cases.
Official bumper: The most expensive case I've owned, and it is not worth it. The look is cool, no doubt about it, however, it feels terrible in hand. It's like wearing a bad condom, which makes the whole experience weird. The protection it gives is limited.
Overall score: 5/10
Mercury TPU case: A solid case with good protection. Feels pretty good in hand, however, it attracts finger prints. A mediocre case, nothing special about it.
Overall score: 6.5/10
Xda TPU case: I got this case to show my support for the XDA community. I got it for about $12, took them about a month to ship it to me. As you can see, it looks awesome, dose not attract finger prints. The quality is a little iffy, since its hand made.
Overall score: 7/10
Ringke Fusion Premium Hybrid Hard Case: My second favorite case. The best part about it is that the back is see-through, great way to show off the beautiful design with good protection. Some say the buttons are hard to push, but that's not the case in mine, the responses I get is great. The only thing I don't like is the small head phone hole, I have to take the case off when I listen to my music. I dose fit the regular head phone cable, mine is a little bigger.
Overall score: 8.5/10
Meifeng Hard skin cover: My favorite among all. It is the slimmest case I own, which makes the holding experience awesome. The materiel it uses has a matte like feeling, makes it easy to hold. The only downside is that the protection it offers is not that great, it only covers the back and the side of the phone while leaves top and bottom of the front unprotected.
Overall score: 9/10
That's it! Hope you guys enjoyed!

Useless without pics.
More pics of the Meifeng please.
I would like to compare it to the Poetic Palette. They appear to be the same, but a YouTube review (more like overview) dropped the Meifeng case by itself into the ground and it sounds like it might be even flimsier/thinner than the Palette. I just want minimal scratch protection but I don't like actual skins/films, so the Meifeng might work for me.

The Meifeng is a slim case like the Poetic Palette but has great grip and feel to it - almost a sandpaper feel but again minimum protection.

I have the Palette and Meifeng. The palette is thicker/sturdier and offers much better top/bottom protection because the edges of the case come closer to the front of the phone. The matt material is also really nice...imo nicer than the meifeng.
However, because it's thicker it doesn't feel as good in the hand as the Meifeng and it also has smaller button holes. So as long as you're ok with a little less protection, the Meifeng is the way to go.
There are a few pics of the Meifeng on the link in my sig.

So initially I didn't like that case (Rearth Slim). But after switching between 6-7 cases I'm using it as my primary case. Imo, it feels the best in the hand. However, I had to use a blade to shave the manufacturing mold lines down. Before I did that the edges of the case were terrible. After that the feeling improved dramatically.
Also gives best corner and front protection of any slim case I've seen.
So short answer... yes, good decision.

Just got my Meifeng (the new black one :eyeroll: ). I wish I had gotten to see it before purchasing.
Differences
Size
Calipers show that the Meifeng is 0.07(±<0.02) mm thinner than the Palette (its semiporous texture is slightly squishy so it varies ~0.02 mm), so the thickness is pretty much identical.
Texture
The Palette is quite slick, but not glossy. It's more like satin than lacquer. The Meifeng is weirdly rough. It's like a soft sandpaper. It's not really a preference, as it would be easy to acclimate to either.
Cutouts
I always thought the Palette cut-outs were too small, but that might have been a conscious decision. The small bridge on the top face of the volume buttons is very thin.
Prospective Durability
Both look very durable, and you would probably break the screen before you broke the case. That being said, they aren't meant for rough usage. As I mentioned about the cutouts, the volume cutout bridge appears more likely to break on the Meifeng.
Other
The Palette is far easier to fit and remove. I hate using a case, and only use my Palette when I'm out and about (I also have a Poetic Slim Book for business) and I'm constantly switching between encased and caseless. I'll put the Meifeng in a drawer and leave it in case my Palette breaks.
EDIT: After a few days with the Meifeng, I honestly do like it more than the Palette. The Poetic case is great, don't get me wrong, but I really liked the larger cutouts of the Meifeng, as well as the rougher texture.

Just got N4 couple weeks ago and im leaning towards this ^ case. My only concerns are:
1. Is the upper right corner bare and the case is cut from there or is it just to show the layer of the case.
2. How flexible and fall resistant the the see through glass on the back is? Does it attract alot of dust?
Thanks.

It's to show the layer. If you look through xda or even searching the case you'll find pictures and videos of what it looks like.
The back isn't glass it's just plastic. No it doesn't attract dust but does attract fingerprints.

Its covered don't worry. The materiel is pretty flexible, because its just plastic. Its ok with the dust, but attracts finger prints and it scratches easy.
there I said it.
-fits perfectly
-protects, like seriously
-not too thin, not too thick, just right
-not slippery, adds hand fitting design, holds well
-not fugly too thick for the sake of protection
-doesn't cost an arm and a leg
-isnt a lint or dirt magnet
-nothing crazy like waterproof or seethru
-protects your camera too, and front screen
-won't scratch your bezel
I just have to share this as many of you are still wasting time and money trying out diff cases. I suggest getting yourself a Thor first then knock yourself out with experimenting with all the others if you must. but for now, Thor is the best.
other companies really failed us on this one. they just wanted to release cases faster than they can test them out. turning us into guinea pigs.
Im sure that it doesnt have tech21 material on it. Tech21 cases are probably better than any cases out there and it has evidence with videos..
Pics?
I have to agree about the Tech21 case. I have it and it is light years away from the others I tried. Very nice case for the Note 4.
lol so superb
Agreed with LeoNote4 100%. I haven't removed the case since I got it. Much better feel than the Spigen cases. I have all of the Spigen cases and UAG Scout. May try the Tech21 Impact Tactical.
Anyone know if either of these will fit if I am using the OEM wireless charging cover?

at some point, a company has to find the perfect balance over one perfect feature. tech21 major design flaw is it's design. it prides itself and rightly so on total protection of the device. this comes at a huge compromise in design. in addition to that dull appearance, the case also creates a lot of smudge from your hands and fingers. it gets annoying to clean up everytime and it looks too gross to show others.
users would find themselves looking for a case that still provides decent protection, maybe bulletproof is overkill, but just enough safety feature and still covers all the other points. nobody said its perfect in all areas, but what Thor provides is that reasonable balance in design, protection, grip, price without compromising so much on one or two features.

Umm except you forgot the fact that its thick and ugly lol. Rinkle slim is my favorite one so far. I mean I got a beautiful looking phone and I'm not gonna put that kind of case on it. But that's just my opinion.

Can anyone using the Verus Thor case recommend, ideally from experience, a good car mount? In part because of the curved sides, it's difficult for me to judge the case's effective width use in a car mount.
TIA

only $16.95 now still worth the money??
I'm still a fan of the Otterbox Defender and the UAG cases. I have used both on my Notes. I don't mind the additional thickness in exchange for protection. I have dropped my Note 3 from chest high onto my concrete driveway with each case and the phone has survived just fine. I have gotten out of my car and forgotten that my phone was in my lap, only to have it drop onto the concrete. No problem!! I have seen all of the video's and listened to the claims of other cases, but I can personally attest to the fact that the 2 cases I have mentioned will protect your investment should you ever drop it.
I'm a long time believer in the "use it as the engineer designed it" philosophy.
I've never been a fan of jamming these highly engineered modern miracles into a clunky case, but this Nexus 6P is *so bloody slippery!*
What have you other "naked" users been doing to combat it?
I've been considering the dbrand "skins" but I'm really concerned about the tackyness of putting what is essentially a sticker on my phone. Also I hear they can collect a lot of pocket lint.

I honestly felt the same, so I just chose a minimalist shell case: http://www.amazon.com/Nillkin®-Prot...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
It's literally just a hard, thin shell that lines the phone. It doesnt add very much size to it at all, but if you use the zoom tool on the image you can see the back of the case has some texture (small bumps) that add a little bit to the grip of the phone. I'm happy with it so far.

That Matte stuff looks interesting, is it a lot grippier in the hand with it on?
I use a carbon fiber dbrand and it provides plenty of texture for grip.
Have a good one!
A very Slippy phone when new!
I have this for the day to day use and I like it.
Pretty grippy same type of texture (Polycarbonate?) as the old HTC One X if you know that phone?

I got the leather backing from Slickwraps. Haven't had anything else (except tempered glass) on since application and no drops. Love it.
You could always just add the skin on the side of the phone. It would at least make the sides more tactile.

Yeah, Skinomi was cool like 4 years ago. You don't want that crap. Go for either Slickwraps or Dbrand Skins. The leather variants have a decent grip.

Has anyone compared the Slickware Naked directly to the Skinomi (about half the price).
With Dbrand you have to be careful which skin you choose. I tried several, the true color options actually make the phone even more slippery since they are essentially plastic stickers. Leather is so so and Matte provides the best grip, which is still not grippy mind you. It is better, but far from perfect. I have not tried the carbon fiber, metal or wood skins they offer. I really wish one of those companies would provide a set of grippy textures, since that's what many people would probably look for when wrapping their phones.
I've only had this amazing phone for a week, but I'm so paranoid about dropping it! I thought I could hold out and just be extra careful but I couldn't do it. I've bought a Slickwraps skin (The Joker), the Spigen Clear Hybrid Case, and TGSP - Intelliarmor Pro.
I'll provide an update on the change in slipperyness when the skin arrives.
