regarding wifi, try the wifi static app. search the forum on how to use it.
if u meant install instead of "port" then u can install whichever theme you want as long as its supported by the fw.
no need for unrooting n odexing

yes, installing a new theme through cwm removes the current theme and installs the new one (make sure to wipe cache afterwards!). no, that doesn't guarantee it'll fix the wireless, unless there was a bug in the theme. if two or even three different themes have the same wifi issue, it's like fw related, not theme related.

If the new theme overwrites all the files that have been previously themed.
Tanks guys.....
Any advice about the upgrading my fw via kies..?
Why do you want to upgrade your FW via KIES if you are already using Odin?
I would install XXKPQ, deodex the ROM, root, apply ext4 conversion and install UtterChaos Kernel and flash a nice theme:

i would love to install xxkpq, but im afraid as some people complaint they get wifi problems, disconnects every other second, cause now my situation is that i updated my phone to ginger 2.5 via kies...then i got bored so rooted then deodexed then installed a theme too..
BUT if you give me assurance by using your way i wont have any problems, plus the uc kernal will make my phone much better ..i will do it your way...its just that i dont understand that much in technical stuffs..noob.

What is this
This is MIUI for Retail Asian/ATT phones, this rom based on MIUI patch rom for Retail China stable branch project and re-packed for retail Asian/ATT phones.
This rom solved the battery drain issue(wake lock issue) when flashing official miui on retail asian/att phones.
Modded
As the stable miui branch not support the root permission function, I used the common SU binary, this means U need to install SuperUser or SuperSu to manager the root permission if U installed this rom.
There's no other extra mods, it is a pure "official" MIUI.
If U got FC after installing this rom, please DO A WIPE DATA/CACHE
How to install
This is for retain Asian/ATT only
- U should flash this rom on an ICS stock rom(I mean, your kernel should be 3.X, and your stock rom should be ics)
- If you're on CM10, flash via cm's recovery
If you're on other roms, Install bootstrap to flash this rom
- Wipe
- install this rom
- reboot
- enjoy it
WARNING
As always, I take no responsability for damaged phones, the user has full responsability. I am not responsible for any data loss and or bricked phones.I assume the user has read this README file and knows what he is doing。

I believe this is a "fixed" version of the Official MIUI that is based on ICS from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914096). It should have everything the other MIUI has plus the battery fix.

Just flashed. Freaking awesome !
I was running NUMA. Removed Bootmenu, completely.
1. Flashed bootstrap as instructed on OP page.
2. Rebooted to recovery from bootstrap.
3. Reset to factory default.
4. Cleared dalvik cache.
5. Went to mounts, formatted /system. (I always do)
6. Flashed zip.
7. Added ATT APNS.
Freaking awesome.
On ATT net in California. Tested texts, and web so far. Both working
Flashed 10 minutes ago.

HI Gurus,
I own the samsung galaxy sgh t959v running on official tmobile stock gigerbread 2.3.6. Recently, I've tried to update it to run on JellyBean(4.1.1) trying to follow the below tutorial.
First you need the ODIN files(to go back to stock) : goo.gl/An7S (scroll down for where it says download and download the 4 files in there )
put this file in your sd card with the other one . if you dont have this file then you wont be able to use recovery mod :goo.gl/FuHFJ
Then you need to root your phone : goo.gl/oW4WO
USE THIS LINK (FOR ROOT)IF NOT FIRST ONE WORKING : dl.dropbox.com/u/13517705/SGH-
Then you gotta update your phone to CM-7 (gingerbread)(2.3.7) : goo.gl/rjFRj
then , you need chimera 2.2 ( ICS )(4.0.4) : d-h.st/uwi
and finally , you need to install panaroid android(JB)(4.1.1): goo.gl/Frl3z
gapps : goo.gl/jN55d

tried update my phone to CM-7 (gingerbread)(2.3.7) : goo.gl/rjFRj only to land into this problem.
I am not able to boot up to download mode either so that I can re-flash the basic stock version.
tried installing chimera 2.2 ( ICS )(4.0.4) : d-h.st/uwi as well but no luck.
I've tried everything from trying to wipe out the data/factory reset.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Madhu
You flashed vibrant (SGH-T959) ROM and recovery and not SGS 4G (SGH-T959V).
These are 2 completely different devices.
I hope you haven't bricked your phone.
Try the one-click back to stock - specifically section 2...
and if it works, flash only ROMs appearing in this forum development section.
Good luck!
It works

You can flash any of the ROMs listed in these SGS4G forums. However, make sure you read the instructions carefully for each ROM, as some require you to have already been on an ICS ROM due to file system changes. Do not flash anything for the Vibrant or any other phone or you will have serious problems. Good luck!

Flashing? not really that well with android terms yet. after clicking "pda" then selecting the cwm file, should I click start? is that what you meant by flashing?

Your thread is changing direction but I can't resist commenting anyway. If your tablet is rooted, stock I don't think you will see big benefits to a custom ROM. For other tablets I use like the Kindle, Nook and N7 custom roms can make a huge difference. I'm running CM 10.? Or variants of that on those devices. My most used tablet is this 2.7 with stock ROM. If you must try another ROM, I'd suggest a sick based ROM that is deodexed with sound or visual enhancements. Also, changing to a noon, Touchwiz launcher will make big differences. GOOD LUCK!
P.S. quess what a ROMaholic might be.

Hate to be a pest but I cannot get ICS to install.
Tried this one: gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
but when I update with it, my phone reverts back to Gingerbread.
I followed the video that clears data and cache,
flashes, reboots, pulls battery out, clears again,
and flashes the rom a second time.
Just cannot get ICS to work with the above ROM zip file.
Can you point me to a webpage that has the ROM and procedure?
Thanks much.
