[Q] Optimus G Pro (E986) problem with rom - General Questions and Answers

I have LG Optimus G Pro, model LGE986 with modified software (Cm10). I wanted to restore the original ROM, but unfortunately there is no .zip files for the installation under the recovery mode. An only way is using files .kdz, or the option of the recovery with LG program.
And here a problem appears. FlashTools isn't able to unpack files .kdz, but providing LG software under the procedure downloadmode states not loaded up battery (loaded up in the 100%).
What I am doing wrongly or whether somebody of you have zip files of original LG rom for LG E986. (perhaps it will be sufficient to install rom for E980 or E988?, because their original .zip software is available for these models).
I ask for your help, thanks

...thanks for the help
OK. I know what problem is with finding the reply to my question...
and now:
Success! I regained the system.
Unfortunately I don't know how I did it, therefore I will describe my manner step by step:
1. I uninstalled LG drivers
2. I installed them again, but not connect the phone so that it didn't detect him under the normal procedure.
3. I slowed down 8 GB on the system disk
4. I charged a phone for the 100%
4. I closed unnecessary programs, I turned off the Firewall and the Anti-virus
5. I started LG Mobile Support Tool
6. I took out the SD Card and SIM out of the phone, and I turn on under the download mode (we are pressing the button on Volumeup and volumedown and we are putting the cable usb earlier connected to the computer)
7. LG the Support Tool detected phone and suggested the upgrade. Unfortunately he reported not loading up the battery. I started emergency recovering system, and the same mistake. Through 10-15 next minutes I tried both methods. The Support Tool demonstrated either the lack of loading the battery up, or announcement finished >>, or screen of download but without the progress indicator and with the close button (during download is cancel).
After this time suddenly he started correctly downloading the system!
ATTENTION! After downloading system, the program is unpacking it and on the 30% for a few minutes the progress indicator is stopping changing in order then to jump into the 70%. Next the system is staying upload to the phone. At the 95% the phone turn on in normal mode and stopped on the LG logo. In approach to the 100% of the transfer operation of the system the Support Tool suspended itself for a few minutes. Next an announcement of the copy appeared on the disk, which in no way it is possible to lock up. The phone wasn't detected fully by the system (driver MTP), so after 10-15 minutes I separated phone and connected again. Repeated attempts to install the missing driver in this mode to be not possible. Normal starting the mobile phone stopped to LG logo and nothing more.
I decided to repeat the process recovery of the system from the beginning, and I left the phone for loading up again (loading of the system in 3h used up 35% of the battery).
After charging, when I already intended again to regain the system I hit the idea in order to make hard reset (to turn the phone on keeping volumedown+home button).
After the hard reset the phone showing normal installation of system!

Hey there,
Thanks for this but i couldn't install the Firmware. can you maybe upload the backup files? i doesn't matter when you have your data i will wipe because i also need the Rom. is that possible to do it ? it would be very nice.
thanks in advance

I think I just F***** my phone

Hello everyone. I recently just recieved my ATT LG G2 in the mail, and since I really didn't like the OS it had I wanted to root it. Anyway, I rooted it, installed twrp, and i tried to install cm10.2 but that didnt work. I then did somethings and re-booted my device into stock LG G2. Then, a notification popped up telling me of a software update that was avaliable (MY LG G2 was already on 4.4.2 so i assumed this was for android 5.0 or something) I clicked update and now I am where I am now. My phone just goes through a loop showing the LG logo, then Showing the LG logo with "security error" under it, and then it goes to black and restarts that whole thing. The thing is though, when I go in to the Factory reset screen and press the power button twice to start the process, it goes back to twrp and when i navigate to reboot to system, the whole process just starts over again. Please if there is anyone knowledgeable on this subject, I REALLY need your help to be able to use my phone again. I am very new to the whole rooting process so this is something i dont know how to fix. Please help im begging you!!!
P.S: another thing to note is that, out of panic, i formated my phone's data from the wipe menu and thats how this all happened.

no need to panic...
1: from twrp format/wipe data system cache leaving internal (assuming you have stuff stored like pictures and etc)
2: sideload cm11 or any other rom for your model(assuming d800 here)
or
1: goto download mode and flash tot (reflash stock lg software). will loose everything on phone.
and do shutdown your phone properly to save battery till you download cm11 or tot.
via twrp choose shutdown and dont plug the phone
via power button looooooong press

What problem you're in?
well I am stuck in twrp, and can't use the terminal because of twrp 2.6.3.2 not responding to touch on the bottom half of the screen. My screen isn't broken. And I made the mistake by taking the OTA while rooted.

'Optimising App' Bootloop

Hiya,
Very frustrated noob here. I have an unrooted/locked-bootloader 2nd Gen Moto G and a few weeks ago I tried to turn it on after charging it overnight and after the usual loading screen it went straight to a message saying "Optimising App 1 of 152", and after going through all the 152 apps it just restarts immediately without reaching the normal PIN input screen, and starts the "Optimising" all over again and repeats this until it runs out of battery and dies. I have tried waiting for it to die, charging a little and then entering recovery mode, where I tried wiping the cache partition which made no difference. I don't mind about getting the phone up and running again as I'm getting a new one, but is there some way of getting my files off it? There are some music recordings I made that I stupidly didn't backup that I'd really really like back. For example, is it possible to reinstall the latest OTA from an SD card without losing all the data on the phone that might kick it out of whatever it's looping? Any help at all much appreciated, cheers
1. If you want to take backup of ur data then Flash TWRP Recovery And Reboot to recovery and then connect your phone to pc and tada ur done.
2. u can flash another Roms Which can solve ur booting problem too.

My phone won't boot and can't go into recovery or fastboot

I did a very stupid thing and rebooted while flashing. Without my knowledge it was a bad and dumbthing to do. Now whenever I start the phone it goes to the white startup screen, but quickly turns completely off in disregards of any button combinations I enter. I followed the advice at this thread. But it seems like it isn't working because Smart Phone Flash Tool is just staying there greyed out with no progress bar.
UPDATE: I managed to get SP Flash Tool to work and in downloaded all the stuff and gave me a green check mark. This didn't affect my phone at all. I'm going to test the battery with my multimeter when I get home.
UPDATE 2: I tested the battery with DC Volt and it returned 4.31 V. Battery seems to be fine. Maybe phone is hard bricked?
UPDATE 3: I retried SP Flash Tool and for some reason I am able to access TWRP now. I'm currently preparing images that I will put on the usb to install them from TWRP.
FINAL UPDATE: I flashed the default rom and it didn't work because TWRP was unable to mount /data and storage. I reformatted Data to ext3 and rebooted and it worked.

boot-loop with very low battery

Hi!
I hope (VERY MUCH) that I must not through away my new bought XA2 ultra, after trying to install lineageOS just following the tutorial on the official page!
I activated the USB-debuging
opened the bootloader
seted the phone to the fastboot mode
booted the TWRP
formated, wiped everything
installed the LineageOS 16 (first time in sideload way, second time directly install on the sd card)
then i recognized, that there is no possibility for wlan (it could not be turned on, MAC-Adress was just something like 02:00:00 ...)
tried then the official SU-app (so installed it over TWRP on the sd card)
after that device hanged while booting (showing the circle, going on the line)
i formated everything, wiped in TWRP
installed just the lineageOS 16
now i have another problem:
the battery live is at the last red bar
if i let the device powering on the USB it starts after a while on itself and boot to the system
then its crashes to blackscreen (with red dot on)
after a while it starts again... and so on.
so i enter the system and then it crashes after some time.
i don't really understand, if the device is charging, while its in the system
the same issue was, as i was in the TWRP, it crashes while installing if i'm not quick enough.
if i let the device just lying on the table, it doesn't start by itself, but it also can not charge the battery.
Don't understand the problem and hope very much, that the new bought thing must not end up in the trash. :crying:
regards
layla
#Edit:
i read everywhere about wiping cache, but i saw and see not possiblity, because there is no option with "cache". I have davlik/art cache, system and data (by the way, it sais, that it can not find the data folder), but i have no folder option with "cache".
The problem seems to be in the missing possibility for the phone to charge.
It seem, that it was possible to charge it over the fastboot mode, but the charge notification sign shows just always 50%.
For now it doesn't crashes, i think until the battery is very low again.
So the actual problem seems to be the problem with charging (i tested the direct connection with the wall socket, with different cable AND laptop USB connection) and the problem with Wifi.
If I connect it just to the socket in the wall, it shows me no connection at all. If I connect it to PC, it shows me a connection, but it don't charge (just if I turn it off and put it to fastboot mode)
after flashing older firmware (oreo) 50.1.A.4.76_R1A and installing LOS 16 again, the issue with wifi and battery stays. So i can not charge the battery in the OS (just in fastboot mode) and i can not activate wifi.
The solution here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/fix-wifi-connecting-mac-address-t3891628 doesn't work for me, because i can not find any persist.img file in the firmware folder.
some ideas?
this firmware fixes the battery problem: H4213_Commercial and Journalists_1313-9995_50.1.A.5.59_R1A
but the wifi problem stays.
very easy solution for the wifi problem!
Just start the original Android (oreo) BEVORE installing the LineageOS, activate wifi there and THEN restart to TWRP, format, wipe and install the LOS. Then everything works well!

Oppo R7S - ROM installation crashed, cannot get back to recovery mode, keeps crashing

Hi there,
I am a newbie and hoping that someone could help to give me some clear pointers about options that i could take to rescue my phone - I hope its not bricked.
I was attempting to install LineageOS 16 on my Oppo R7s. This is my second attempt at installing a ROM - I did it a couple of weeks ago with Project Spectrum, and it worked, but Project Spectrum didn't impress me, so i wanted to try lineage OS instead).
I entered developer mode and enabled USB debugging
I downloaded the LineageOS zip to my SD card, as well as a Google Apps zip.
I downloaded the TWRP app on my phone just in case it was needed, however I've never used that app and not 100% sure how to use it.
I rebooted in recovery mode, and tried to install from the LineageOS zip file. It didn't start installing, I got some error message which I cannot recall... so I tried wiping the application data first, to see if that would help (maybe that was my mistake??)
I then went back to the install menu, and tried to install the Google Apps package first.... it started downloading, but then crashed and black screened.
Now, when I try to power on the phone, I get the oppo logo, and then it briefly goes back to the install screen for a second, with a message on the screen saying: "updating please wait, do not remove battery, do not co other operations" - but this only lasts for a second, then it crashes.
When I try to reboot into recovery mode (Power key +volume down), it does the same thing. I cannot get back to the white recovery menu.
Is there any way that I can rescue the situation and get back into recovery mode to try again? Or get back to a functioning USB connection so I can load a new ROM zip to try that instead?
When I plug it into the power, I get no indication that the phone is charging.
I'm worried the battery will go flat.
I have ADB installed on my computer, but I dont really know how to use it - the only command I know is "adb push" to load the roms onto the SD Card
Any advice on how to get access again would be greatly appreciated!
