I've been reading about the CM 10.2 nightlies on the xt926 and want to give it a try. I'm no stranger to flashing custom ROMs as I have 10.2 on my nook tablet and used to rock Eclipse on my dx2. I'm a bit disappointed and apprehensive that I can't flash a custom recovery. My question is: Am I wasting my time attempting this? Will I be beating my head against a wall until I finally nandroid back to where I was or will it work? I don't want to go through SafeStrap if I don't have to as I want to go full on 10.2. Any help is greatly appreciated
cant be done str8 up locked, some theories were thrown around about ss and modifying files but i don't know if that worked out.

Cool, thanks for getting back to me. That really sucks. If I had wanted a locked down phone, I would have bought an iphone. Welp, seems I will have to try another company for my next phone.
So your on the latest ota? You didn't specify.

Yes, unfortunately. I read up on it some more after seeing last reply and realized that I had screwed myself out of it. I am currently on 9.18.79. I thought I had read somewhere that you could force it through the stock recovery but that sounded really sketchy so I consulted you guys first.

Phone week old stock no root. I keep checking software update but no update is showing. Maybe I have to check something is turned on to get it? Tried checking with ATT service and wifi. Thanks for advise..
It's a staggered roll out.
Thanks, thought that might be the case. Thought I check to make sure. Really enjoying the phone so far...

You better root it and unlock your bootloader now before you lose the chance to in the future. Also, I highly suggest just flashing the rooted ROM instead of taking the OTA that way your hboot doesn't change.
Thanks that sounds like the way to go..

It is indeed.
Better yet, run cleanrom 4.5. It's 4.04 tweaked. I expect Scot will switch it to the 2.20 AT&T base soon.

I concur. CleanROM is definitely the way to go. I just suggested the stock ROM because a lot of n00bs are wary of going the custom route.
Ha, yes downloaded clean rom now. Just been reading a tad more on root n unlocking er. I rooted my Evo 4g n a couple tablets. But haven't been able to download everything to get started, em on 1.85. Twrp etc. Sure is a beautiful phone. Soon as I picked it up in the store, had the perfect feel, plus the screen and sound blew me away too. Going to look for the file tonight and give it ago.. Thanks..

So, I'll admit that this is my first android phone and I'll admit that I didn't take a bunch of time to learn anything about what I needed to do before rooting and unlocking and flashing and everything else.
My problem is, I've unlocked my bootloader just fine and I rooted my phone just fine. The problem came when I found Android Revolution HD, from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603, and wanted it. I didn't understand how to flash a new ROM or anything, but I went ahead and tried. I flashed several different boot images and recoveries so I don't even know where to begin. I flashed recovery-clockwork-5.8.4.0-endeavoru and tried to use the boot.img from the link I posted. Now I can't boot into recovery or restart my phone or even do a factory reset. I'm afraid that I messed everything up to the point where I need a new phone or something. I know I should have spent more time with this before diving into it, I was just excited. Is there anything I can do? I'm sorry if my problem is vague..

first of all, you flashed a ROM and recovery not meant for your phone. Our One X is a snapdragon based phone codenamed evita.
can you get to boot loader anymore?
if so relock it
then install the factory RUU that matches the version you had before, probably 1.85
then spend about 2 or 3 weeks reading the threads in OUR development section before you unlock the bootloader and flash anything else.

My friend, might I add you are very, very lucky you don't have a flagship phone that only gives you a reflection lol. A lot of others have rendered their device useless by flashing international ROMs and mods.... I suggest you subscribe to this forum, and ONLY stay in this forum! Make sure you take this as a valuable lesson!

This mistake is very easy to make for someone who just bought a phone. I know that the credo at XDA is rtfm but the mods of the respective forums really ought to make the effort to make the distinction more obvious.
HTC and AT&T should have done that.
Seems pretty self explanatory to me.

Ahh, you are correct. Been on here so long haven't had to actually search for XDA on google.
One problem is when you search xda one XL in Google, the first link is actually the correct forum.... however right under that it lists:
HTC one x Q & A
HTC one x Themes and apps..
Etc etc...
↑↑↑↑↑↑—— if you click on those options it goes to the International threads.. once your in its very easy to go on not noticing your in international waters. Ive caught myself in wrong forums more than once when xda app acts up and I use a browser....

I know I made the same mistake in my first ROM flashing experience. And I even knew that ROMs for the International One X were incompatible! I just had no idea what "endeavoru" meant.
Since then, I've been keeping track of many HTC One X terms, which I highly recommend the original poster take a peek at.
HTC One XL Terminology Glossary
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784459
Revolution HD seems to be a popular ROM for the International One X. Maybe they should explicitly note in the OP that it will likely brick an AT&T One X if flashed (if they don't already!)
This may also be a good thread to take a look at (if you don't feel bad enough already!)

WARNING: Bootmanager does not currently support any SGS3 variant. If you don't know what you are doing do not try it.
Bootmanager (by init2winit) is an app that let's you boot multiple ROMs from your sdcard. I bought the full version ages ago for me ol' Moto Droid the original unbrickable of droid (oh those were good times mates).
Now that we have an unlocked bootloader, I'm itching to try it on my vzw SGS3. But, I thought I'd see if anyone else out there had already tried it on any SGS3 variant before I go and fiddle with it all by my lonesome.
Let us all know if you've tried it unsuccessfully or successfully and let us know your methods as well.
I'll report back if I get too impatient and try a manual setup myself.
Ta,

Toggling through ROMs is a huge chore. Takes too long to load to be functional for me. Maybe that will change if they start support the GS3...
Anyone know if any progress has been made? It'd be fun to have boot manager back.
Ok, this is a Question, My tablet is a ("Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, P5113, with a rooted Android 4.1.1") and i would like to chang it to "jellybean" or some other, ROM, can this be done without me unrooting, as you can see, i have no idea what i'm doing but I will learn how.
This is why I bought this tablet, just to see what i can do. So if you can, Please show me where i can get the Info on how to do this, I have read alot in here on rooting "ect" but i seam to not find anything on this, maybe i'm blind or just to old....
You already on jelly bean..
even if you want to change your rom into an official jelly bean rom, you dont need to unroot your tab..
find an aokp jb ROM in dev section, do full wipe, flash new ROM w/correct gapps. enjoy.
you're already running jb, but it's a stock/rooted official jb ROM ;]
you're already rooted, that won't change unless you flash a stock jb firmware via Odin.

Are you sure you're on a "rooted" ROM? Sounds to me like you have root and unroot confused. Did you buy the Tab new? Is it how it came from the store? If so you are not rooted. Rooting is what one does in order to be able to flash custom ROMs.
I recommend you plan on spending a few weeks just reading about all of this and taking notes (really, cutting and pasting into a document on your pc, that's what I do) before you do anything. That's what I'm doing because doing all of this on the Tab is so much different than doing it on my phone, I really have a lot to learn about Odin, flash counters, Triangle Away, etc....

Post a screenshot of your about phone screen. If the kernel build has a mid july build date, then it is leak 1 and you can go back to GB using my script in the dev section.
Otherwise you can only run ICS based ROMs (yes you can run any ROM that is ICS based, just not GB based ones).
If you have issues it is easy to use the ICS FXZ, as we did not have that yet when leak one and two were out. Hence the issues and bricks. You MUST know which version of the phone though (ATT, Asian, or HK) To properly use an FXZ, or you have a chance to brick.
Had to break out my optimus v, and I would like to personally thank you for responding so quick. I expected to get really beat up I have been following you all for years and I know how it is horrible to be redundant here. Well my new friend it looks like I am on week 2. I do not know what to do where I should go from here but I will tell you what more stable even stock would be better even if it is a ICS leak. I don't know why they call it a leak if it came over the air does that mean AT&T in Motorola send out experimental software? the fact that I'm posting speaks to the power that this phone is an anomaly. Through the years I have never once had to post. All of my hard questions have been answered by you all in advance.

Think that's official. It's same as I have, and i fxz'd to official 4.0.4.
Going back to gingerbread is worthless. It'd be like going from Windows 7 back to xp.
We don't use bootstrap anymore, and If you have I'd fxz to stock, root it, and then install boot menu manager, or BMM. then can flash the newer stuff.
But be aware the what your on and Numa are the only fully functional and stable ones we have.
