3g speed of Ville C2 - HTC One S

Hi there,
Can someone tell me the 3G speed of HTC One S C2? Because when I search in Google it displays Speeds upto 14mbps for One S(intl version) but it is no where mentioned about the S3 processor speed. They inform just like HSDPA but no mention of exact speeds. Sorry for asking such noob question though

internet speed does not depends on processor but on network. (as per my knowledge)

I think the max speed that the VilleC2 can get is HSPA+ 21mbps, and the Ville is 42mbps (although the VilleC2 may be 42mbps aswell). I found on HSPA+ that the speed is more than adequate, rivalling my friends iPhone 5 on LTE.

Oh thanks buddy I thought my Ville C2 would be a mere 7.2mbps but thank god u gave a great info :thumbup:

Actually my brother is using HTC butterfly and he gets a minimum speed of 5 to 6 Mbps on Airtel Network in India, whereas i too use the same network from same place but i could clock only 2 to 2.5 Mbps on my HTC One S C2 (Courtesy: Speedtest mobile app). So will it make any difference if its a LTE band handset like Butterfly and Non LTE band handset like my HTC One S C2???

According to PhoneArena , We have HSPA Yes HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s
& HSPA + (4G) Yes (HSDPA 21 Mbit/s) , so yes we have real 4G not pure 4G though .

Also, before anyone asks, it's a hardware cap and there's not way to make it so the sensation can support the 42 mbps speed.

Would be nice tho if they could
They told me the only difference is those 2 device has 1.5ghz processor but we're rooted and thanks to daemon we have 1.5ghz too hopefully we could!

This is just semantics but.. 14.4 Mbps is the down cap. 5.7 Mbps on uploads.
I have personally used the a new tmous htc phone thats coming out, it was coined the 'ruby' at the time. I was told it had a 23 Mbps cap and it was pulling in speeds of around
6000 kbps vs my sensation which usually gets around 4500.
*edit* my 2 cents on those phones. Samsung makes a great product but the build quality on those galaxy phones is sub par imo. They are made of plastic! sure its a light device... i personally dont put a gel skin or anything on my phone (naked) so i would choose the htc in that case. Similar specs and a sleeker build quality! tho samsung screens are awesome... dont rack your brain over it, both phones will be awesome!

Data speeds beat by the amaze

I was at tmobile today and I was comparing our phone against the amaze. The amaze blew away the MT4G on a side by side speed test. My phone was getting almost one quarter of the data speed of the amaze. And no it was not on wifi. Why does the amaze get such faster 4G speed? Does it have a better radio?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using XDA App
Faster HSPA+ support.
Because everyone stupidly abandoned the MT4GS.

Could the radio from the amaze be moved to the MT4GS? And would out improve our 4G speed?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using XDA App
Its probably the hardware of the radio. Not the radio software. Like the Droid Razr has a new "Micro" LTE radio Which is thinner and apparently is resulting in bettery battery.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
I would so change over to the amaze if I could. if just for the speed
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using XDA App
I would too, the only phone I'd give up a physical keyboard for.
Can you tell us the results from speednet? I m curious to know the difference.
Sent from my DoubleShot Lite
7 vs 21, 5 vs 18, 6 vs 22 6 vs 16 mbps. I ran about 20 tests and the amaze blue the MT4G out of the water. Any where from 3 to 4 times faster. I never saw the amaze drop below 12mbps where my phone would be as low as 3. Now that sucks.

This might be diving into conspiracy theory here, but maybe it's because it's a t mobile demo phone?
Sent from my RubiX CubeD NonSense MT4GS using XDA App
That is a possibility. They did not have a working MT4G for me to compare. Only the dummy phone.

this thread makes no sense.
according to specs, mt4gs supports 14.4 mbps hspa+ while amaze supports 42 mbps hspa+
it's only logical that the amaze is way faster.

Or this. I was too lazy to dive into the specs. Honestly, though, I get around 6 down speed most everywhere I go, which is plenty fast for me. IMO, once you get above six or seven down, the internet connection is no longer the bottle neck that's slowing your phone down.

Wow I'm surprised that the amaze is much faster data wise. The phones were both released within a few months of each other.
I need to check out the amaze's specs. I wonder if its faster overall.

It is, faster overall, faster data speed, faster processor (1.5 ghz) the same one on the mytouch just that is not the underclock version, camera is the same. But one thing is that the battery is just the worst on the amaze because of higher clocked speed on the processor

When I first bought this phone way back when it launched I liked it because everyone listed as having 21 mbps.. now I looked again and you see different specs depending on which website you visit.. I really don't know who to believe.

I hope that I wasn't lured to this phone by a lie. The cell phone market is full of a lot of unethical practices :/

t-mobile official specs lists it as 14.4 mbps.
Qualcomm's msm8260 official specs say the chipset has 28.8 mbps capability.
some random sites say it supports 21 mbps.
which one is the right one? dunno, but officially the phone is 14.4 and besides that, as someone already said, when you get over 5-6 mbps speed is not that much of a problem anymore so w/e
Too bad I barely get 1 mbps... 4g on tmobile was way faster back when they first launched 4g. When they launched 21 mbps in this market there wasn't really any speed difference. Still betweem 1 & 2 mbps :/

One XL with Rogers(Canada)?

Hi,
I know that the Rogers version of One X (700, 1,700, 2,100 MHz LTE) is different to the international One XL (800, 1,800, 2,600 MHz LTE), but on the Rogers website:
"If you are using a mobile phone that you have purchased outside of Canada or from a different carrier, you may be able to use it with Rogers as long as it is "unlocked"
Things to know:
1. Your device must be compatible with the Rogers network, which uses GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+ at 850 MHz and 1900 MHz, or LTE technology at 2100/2600 MHz AWS...

Does this mean that the international One XL will get LTE on Rogers?
Thanks in advance
yes, check coverage here http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.po...true&setLanguage=en&template=wireless_network
Based on Rogers 2600 MHz spectrum available in majority of sectors within Rogers LTE coverage areas; in sectors where 2600 MHz is not available, device will seamlessly fallback to 2100 MHz.

Why not get it directly from Rogers?
Rogers is only 16gb if I'm not mistaken?
We have a 32gb version...

Dropbox fixes that though. Load what you want in the cloud then pull it when you need or want it. I have the 16gb Telus version and have no issues with storage

32gb version makes more sense, to be honest... but just watch out with 2600Mhz... (reception wise) 'cos no current phones in Canada running on this LTE frequency as of yet, i believe... the LG Optimus G will be the first one http://redboard.rogers.com/tag/600-mhz-spectrum/
Dropbox only fixes it if your provider gives you a good chunk of data or you have unlimited...
I only get 2gb a month then get charged extra once I go over...
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
I get 1gb per month and have never gone over. There are plenty of free hotspots depending on where you live (tim's, Starbucks, McDonald's) where you can pull files without having to use your data. I agree that the 32 makes more sense, but is it worth the cost of importing it just for the storage? Just my 2 cents.

[Q] Backed BlackBean 8 3G Speed Hack

Hi,
I'm using the bbb8 and it's really cool but what does 3g Speedhack and HSUPA upload speed hack mean ?
P.S: I'm using german telekom (t-mobile)
An educated guess would be that it speeds up your realistic upload and download speeds.
lol
