Hi,
I'm using the bbb8 and it's really cool but what does 3g Speedhack and HSUPA upload speed hack mean ?
P.S: I'm using german telekom (t-mobile)
An educated guess would be that it speeds up your realistic upload and download speeds.

According to PhoneArena , We have HSPA Yes HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s
& HSPA + (4G) Yes (HSDPA 21 Mbit/s) , so yes we have real 4G not pure 4G though .

I dont know why people make a big deal about whats real 4g and fake 4g. All that matters is that its fast.

Hi all
Just a quick question about the radio and flashing.
I understand that when a device is flashed to a custom ROM, that a radio is cooked in. (am I correct?)
Now my situation is this. I live in Australia, and am thinking of purchasing a 2nd hand Inspire 4G (AT&T) from the US, but from my research, due to the Inspire's (from AT&T) frequencies being 850/1900, this causes a small problem in Australia, where only telstra's NextG network operates on this band.
So in effect, I would be limited to NextG if I had this phone in Australia. the other major carrier here (optus) uses 900/2100.
Not a biggie right now as I use telstra nextg, but I may want to change.
So, question would be, when a phone is flashed, can I change the radio via the ROM, or is the frequencies a phone uses controlled by hardware?
thanks.
It's hardware mate.

thanks mate.
now to decide if its worth it.....can get one pretty cheap compared to here in Australia.
Check out tmobile I don't recall the bands they use but they sell the desire HD which is the Inspire 4G for them.
Edit: http://www.htc.com/www/smartphones/htc-desire-hd/#specs
Looks like it is 900/2100
So now the question is, what provider will you stick to in Australia

Yeah its a tough decision ...I'm going to be moving soon to study, and where I'm going both carriers are good, but telstra is prob the dearest. Where I currently live needs telstra and I get a sim card through work (I use my own phone though)
So I basically need a 850 phone for 3 months then I can use whatever .......
I just bought one and I am on Telstra. I also have a desire hd. Inspire in my opinion is the best choice.
Inspire can still run on Optus. My missus uses it occasionally with no issues.

For future reference please ask questions in the Q and A section. Let's leave the Dev section for the devs and their roms.

Any body know of a Rom that boosts 3G speed or that makes my HTC one v cdma faster?

What carrier are you on?
I don't know that there is a ROM per se that does this, but you should be able to change your PRL and see if that helps, I'm not familiar with the One V that much, but I have changed PRL on some sprint / cricket phones with good results sometimes.
My carrer is cricket how do you do that process that you speak of?

Hey guys, just wanted to share something I've found!
So it's nothing amazing, but I've been fortunate to own both a HTC One and a Samsung Galaxy S4. Both of these devices have the latest type of Wi-Fi cards available in them, and the Samsungs speed compared to the HTC is something to rave about. My HP spectre gets around 30MB, but look at this!

I'm impressed by it, too. My HTC Evo 4G LTE will only do about 15 and 13, respectively.
On my pc i get about 25mbps on wireless but on my s4 only 3.6 however downloads (torrents etc.) are just as fast.
Any tips?

You mean that you're downloading with 3,6 mb/s?
That's because you need to convert your "mbps" to "mb/s". Just devide your "mbps" by 8, and you should see something that's near your download speed!
I have a 150/15 mbps, and my maximum theoretical download speed is 150 (mphs) divided by 8 (bytes) = 18,75 mb/s.
I hope that's what you meant!
OT:
I'm getting ~45 mbps download and ~20 mbps upload with my 150/15 connection. That's a big step up from the original Galaxy S (i9100). My 4G LTE download is approx. ~37 mbps download and ~22 mbps upload.

Hi there,
Can someone tell me the 3G speed of HTC One S C2? Because when I search in Google it displays Speeds upto 14mbps for One S(intl version) but it is no where mentioned about the S3 processor speed. They inform just like HSDPA but no mention of exact speeds. Sorry for asking such noob question though

internet speed does not depends on processor but on network. (as per my knowledge)
I think the max speed that the VilleC2 can get is HSPA+ 21mbps, and the Ville is 42mbps (although the VilleC2 may be 42mbps aswell). I found on HSPA+ that the speed is more than adequate, rivalling my friends iPhone 5 on LTE.
Oh thanks buddy I thought my Ville C2 would be a mere 7.2mbps but thank god u gave a great info :thumbup:

Actually my brother is using HTC butterfly and he gets a minimum speed of 5 to 6 Mbps on Airtel Network in India, whereas i too use the same network from same place but i could clock only 2 to 2.5 Mbps on my HTC One S C2 (Courtesy: Speedtest mobile app). So will it make any difference if its a LTE band handset like Butterfly and Non LTE band handset like my HTC One S C2???
