Title says it all, i managed to get to the finaly step where it says are you sure you would like to unlock the bootloader but i can't use my power button to accept this, if anyone had the same problem and managed to unlock then please help.
Hi, bad thing.
It must be annoying to be so close but not being able to reach the end of the unlock.
But you still have a chance with this tool. I'm not in the same situation. But it could help you.

Thanks, but unfortunatly the process takes me to the same final step and i just cant accept the offer, some people say you have to wait about 2 minutes for it to work, i tried that also and it just wouldnt work but i mean the power button works flawlessly on the actual phone but it doesnt work in entering the bootloader as well so i have to do adb commands...

Well you could try the jupuntobear security off method, then you would have s-off with a hacked bootloader that while displaying locked it is actually unlocked and will allow fastboot flashing

I used what I call a "twizzler". Its the small insulated bit of wire that comes with larger cables, usb cables ect, that keeps them tidy I simply peeled back the insulation on either end of the twizzler and I was sorted

i just bought a sensation, and now i'm a previous HD2 owner. so i'm not a noob, i hope.
so...unlocking bootloader and rooting and s-Off...which one to follow? the official on hTCDev website or the revolutionary way?! any difference between those?
please someone clarify some things, as i just became a sensation user, i have no idea about anything of these since HD2 is way different as i noticed and since there are a lot of info on the net, i don't wanna get into things i shouldn't.
i got a second hand sensation but it's still on factory default with android 2.3.4 and sense 3.0
really any help is greatly appreciated
If your HBOOT is supported by Revolutionary ALWAYS use that one...
I dont like HTCdev - It should only be used if your HBOOT is unsupported
Just have a good read through all the noob guides. Be sure of what you're doing before attempting anything...
I cant stress how important it is to follow the guides 100%

no really i searched like two hours and on youtube but i couldn't know what's the difference between the official tool and the one called revolutionary...why you felt sarcasm in my words is beyond me...sorry anyway...
haha maybe its just me..
Anyway, Revolutionary IS THEE best tool for S-OFF... providing your HBOOT is supported of course. Did you check to see if its supported ?
if you got hboot 1.18.0000 please use revolutionary method to unlock your boot loader. If you unlock your bootloader with htcdev method you will unlock somd parts of the hboot. not every thing. then you cant flash a custom kernel because it already locked boot.img and cant write a new file over it. thne you will get wifi, bluetooth problems. so unlock your bootloader with revolutionary.

Just curious, how will rooting (& thereby voiding the warranty) bring you some peace... For most people, it would bring anxiety (& bad dreams)...
Wait a minute, you said unlocking, i hope you didn't mean sim-unlock instead of rooting?

thanks for your reply. nothing changed in my after i tried revolutionary. HBOOT is still 1.18.0000
and it still says S-ON ??
If so try it again Copy the beta key into notepad and enter it into revolutionary manually.
then tell me what happens, also, link me to the guide you are / was following, and what step you got to before this problem occurred

yeah it still rights LOCKED up with pinkish red highlight and under it S-ON RL
i already tried like 5-6 times...nothing worked...i installed drivers, unticked fast boot on phone, and ticks usb debugging...
i followed this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
oh i got the error on step 1 in revolutionary...
So I sent my Sensation back to HTC to repair after i managed to ruin it replacing the screen myself. They did it under warranty which is ace, but not my new problem...
Basically I want to go full root and custom rom, but the device has come back bright and shiny with HBOOT 1.29.0000 (mar 2 2012) and none of my usual methods are able to unlock that.
I've spotted I've spotted the juopunutbear method, but no way am I connecting wires to hot points on my device, I'd rather be stuck with S-ON and wait for my next device.
Are there any other solutions / is revolutionary still under development?

JPBear is your only option at the moment, assuming it works on 1.29 of course.
It's pretty safe though, what the shorting does is activate some sort of download mode, it's also used for the unbricking project.

Unlocking with HTCDEV failed for me as well, maybe the 1.29 HBOOT is too new and isn't part of the bootloader unlocker yet? Either way I''d bet it's down to that, will get involved on your thread.

If it makes you feel any better about it, HTC does it every time they need to enter download mode to completely flash a new everything. It's not actually shorting anything, it's just connecting some pins together, and as the phone boots up, it's probably asking "Are these pins connected?" and if they are it enters download mode.
Hi all, got my phone back from repair, with the latest orange crap and newest hboot. Ive read that I need to use Juopunutbear, to the s-off, root etc, but I dont like the look of Juopunutbear, (using wire? no chance_. I found the old revolution way much safer and easy to do. How can i still do it like that? Would i need to flash the old orange ruu on the sdcard?

You can't run older ruu when SON
To have custom rom's you need to do SOFF via Juopunutbear way or htc dev unlock
The later might not work for you.. As you might got motherboard replaced..
So only solution is JB via temproot

My repair was only for dust under the screen. so i have the choice of voiding warranty via a piece of wire (visual void), or I virtually tell htc im voiding it? There must be a sneakier way?

I believe you do know that.. To turn back SON.. Just one command will do... So it literally means the process is reversible
And I'm afraid that there is no other way to use root/custom rom

I highly doubt it. If you're uncomfortable, you should stick with stock. It's always wise to not do it if you aren't sure of it..
If I had steady hands it wouldnt be a problem, Im a flashaholic, hate stock lol x
Maybe if you read over it a few times you might get a bit more comfortable with it? What I do is even print out the guide so I don't miss a step.this has really helped me in the past when doing new things, I know it may sound silly but its nice to have a printed guide infront of you incase you get in a pinch. This way all the steps are right there in front of you. This is what I do. Just a suggestion. If you DO decide to give it a shot then maybe this might help. I wish you the best in which ever you decide. I just wanted to share this with you because having a printed guide has really helped me out in the past. Good luck and best wishes to you!

then get the pyramic ics one from here http://unlimited.io/hboot-downloads/

If your Hboot still says *locked* you cannot flash a recovery.
Please get the correct Hboot from here & follow flashing instructions: http://unlimited.io/hboot-downloads/
You can then proceed to flashing recovery.
Right done that even though the green line never goes to the end my hboot no longer says locked. I put the recovery zip on the sd, booted into bootloader said yes, completed and rebooted, but no custom recovery there?

Wire trick is necessary. I used a regular paperclip without insulation. If you follow the instructions, then everything will be fine
I'm pretty sure nothing will short circuit and electrocute you, neither will the phone explode

Yeah, nothing bad will happen if all the instructions are followed. I'm sure the hundreds and thousands of sensations that have been s-offed via juopunutbear s-off are completely usable.
All it takes is patience. Some get the wire trick on the first try, some get it hundreds of tries later (took me about 25-30 tries)

If you want to root your phone without to lose your warranty (unlocking the bootloader) you will use Juopunutbear S-OFF guide. If you have not warranty you could unlock the bootloader to root it and then you give it S-OFF if you like.
I got rooted my phone the first day I bought it with wire trick! At first it didn't work for me bat I finally made it.If you want to unlock it with Juopunutbear you must have the latest HTC drivers installed without sync and preferably win7 32bit.
You can flash ROMs without turning S-OFF, I used this guide to do it on my Sensation.
hi every one
i have custmer forgot the drow password of hes XE and he wants to update the rom
so when i try to upgrade it i went to bootloader and it is 1.18 locked
and when i do factory rest it dosn't do any thing i mean it dosnt remove the pass and dosnt do factory reset, its just restarting the sys
and same thing when i do recocory
i did alot of search but all needed to unlock the bootloader>> i have to active USB Debugging option and i cant becuz the device it locked
any help plz
If you want to unlock the hboot go to htcdev and unlock it, it will factory reset in the process. But if you have usb debugging then I recommend running revolutionary and gaining s-off, then flash a custom recovery upgrade to any version available.
