[Q] serious problem with EX - HTC Sensation

hi every one
i have custmer forgot the drow password of hes XE and he wants to update the rom
so when i try to upgrade it i went to bootloader and it is 1.18 locked
and when i do factory rest it dosn't do any thing i mean it dosnt remove the pass and dosnt do factory reset, its just restarting the sys
and same thing when i do recocory
i did alot of search but all needed to unlock the bootloader>> i have to active USB Debugging option and i cant becuz the device it locked
any help plz

If you want to unlock the hboot go to htcdev and unlock it, it will factory reset in the process. But if you have usb debugging then I recommend running revolutionary and gaining s-off, then flash a custom recovery upgrade to any version available.

Need Help - Will not get past boot screen.

Hey guys,
Just bought the HTC One X and I have no idea what to do. I know how to fastboot since I have been using the Galaxy Nexus, but I am not sure what to do with the phone right now. It boots in to the HTC logo, and then turns off and then keeps doing that. I can get into fastboot mode and use it but I have no idea what files to use. It was originally with Rogers I believe, and then it was unlocked. So if anyone can help me that would be great! I do not care about losing files or anything, I just want to fix this. Please can someone help
I am on a Mac, but if I need to be on a windows computer I will,
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!!

PC Instructions (since RUUs don't work on macs)
1. Get to your bootloader (hboot)
2. Select the FASTBOOT option, you should now be in the fastboot menu
3. Make sure you have HTC sync installed on your pc (for drivers and such...this should probably be step 1)
4. Plug your phone into your computer, FASTBOOT should turn into FASTBOOT USB once you have the drivers installed
5. Relock your bootloader if it is unlocked using the command 'fastboot oem lock'
6. Run the RUU
7. Go make yourself some coffee while you wait for it to complete (it takes like 10-15 minutes)
Did you get it fixed? If not try to take some help from niceppl and 18th.abn

Stuck on white screen

This Sensation is my friend's phone, she said me he stop an upgrading and after that the phone stop working. When you power on is stuck on the white screen whit htc logo. I try an hard reset (all the software on the phone is orignal htc), it starts but when reboots to complete, it is stuck on white screen.
My friend bought it 2 months ago.

Hi,
If it got stuck doing an OTA update, you should talk to your carrier or HTC.
Before this I prefer try something else, otherwise I would not be here. With the assistance I know when I leave the phone but dont know when is back.

Ruu won't work even if you unlock the bootloader
What you can do is after unlock you can flash a custom gingerbread rom...
Check for asskickar guide on flashing roms with SON.. In sensation general section and use it to flash a custom gingerbread rom... Remember all(most) the roms here are of ics/jb which absolutely won't work for you.. You need to find a gingerbread rom

For lower version of ruu to run you need SOFF..
Maybe you misinterpreted the statement given by kgs1992 but he does know this.
Unlock of bootloader only gives you the ability to flash custom roms which support that firmware version

the bootloop is normal.

to be honast I would rather a working phone than one with warrenty especially since its not worth the paper its written on

If he is on gb he doesnt need to unlock, he can straight s-off it and retain his warranty, the guide to do that totally works. Unlocking is totally unnecessary and is just going the extra road to s-off.
Your post is only if someone who has upgraded to official ics and wans to s-off, which is not possible as the person first needs to unlock.

Beyond Screwed

So I gave my friend my phone and she messed with the pattern till it asked for my google credentials but because my Wi-Fi isn't on and I turn my data off for preserving reasons.. I can't do anything.
Before this I rooted my phone but relocked it so I have "Security Warning, Relocked & Tampered" at bootloader.. I also had a custom recovery which I removed so now I can't do hard reset from bootloader or recovery..
My question is.. Is there anything I can use at this point to start my phone over or give me access to remove the password

You don't need USB debugging enabled to unlock your bootloader. Everything is done in fastboot. Not even directions from HTCdev say anything about USB debugging.
Why the hell did u take off usb Debug? Ur only choice will be to run ruu as mentioned above. Pm "football"
Tell him what happened and give him this information
1) what carrier your on
2) what radio your on (either that or hboot forgot which)
3) your country
You may have to pay a little fee if you do might as well it'll revive your phone

Well you could try the jupuntobear security off method, then you would have s-off with a hacked bootloader that while displaying locked it is actually unlocked and will allow fastboot flashing

I used what I call a "twizzler". Its the small insulated bit of wire that comes with larger cables, usb cables ect, that keeps them tidy I simply peeled back the insulation on either end of the twizzler and I was sorted
